The two kingdoms began to worship the idols of the surrounding kingdoms. The betrayal of God’s people to God is worse than the betrayal of a partner, and therefore the Prophet Ezekiel rebukes the two traitorous capitals with truly terrible words, for the two states have fallen to the lowest depths. The problem of superficial readers lies in the lack of accurate understanding , and therefore the proverb says: “ The semi-educated are more dangerous than the ignorant .” If this is the case of superficial readers, then what about the biased readers who do not read the book with the aim of understanding and benefiting, but rather read it with the aim of catching what they think is an unforgivable mistake, to direct unconstructive criticism, even stabs Fanaticism, may God forgive them and guide them to what is best for their souls. “ And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother, who played the harlot in Egypt; in their youth they played the harlot; there their breasts were tickled, and there their virgin bosoms were tingled. And their names were: Oholah the elder, and Oholibah her sister; and their names were [“Samaria” “Oholah”] and [“Jerusalem” “Oholibah”]… And she loved their lovers, whose flesh was like the flesh of donkeys, and their semen like the semen of horses… Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will stir up your lovers against you… And they will come against you with weapons and with chariots… And they will condemn you… This will I do to you, because you have committed the harlotry after the nations, because you have defiled yourself with their idols.”

First: The words of revelation in general

(4) The story of redemption and salvation.
(5) God’s commandments to humanity and His orders to believers to do good and forbid evil and wrongdoing.
It is clear that what was written in Ezekiel here is a prohibition of wrongdoing and abominations committed by the Jewish nation at that time, as will become clear from the following:
Second: The background of these words
(1) These words are directed to the Jewish nation, and this is what is expressed by “the mother who had two daughters.”
(2) The two daughters are Aholah and Oholibah = referring to Samaria, the capital of Israel, and Jerusalem, the capital of Judah.
This is evident from the fourth verse of the same chapter, where it says: “And their names were [“Samaria” “Oholah”] and [“Jerusalem” “Oholibah”]
(3) The fornication of Oholah and Oholibah [i.e. Samaria and Jerusalem]: The text says that they committed fornication with Egypt, Assyria, and Babylon, as mentioned in verses 3-19
(4) What is the meaning of this fornication?
1- This statement does not mean at all that it is the fornication of a woman in the literal sexual sense . How can a nation that is not a woman commit fornication literally?
2- So what is meant is a metaphorical image that expresses the betrayal of this nation to God, to whom it is connected as His people, and this is what is expressed by spiritual fornication.
3- Spiritual fornication is a formula used by the Holy Bible to mean betrayal of the Lord or hostility towards Him due to attachment to other gods, whether they are idols or love of the world or other. This is evident from the Bible’s statement:
- About fornication Meaning of abandoning God and worshipping other gods: (Judges 2:17) “ They committed adultery after other gods and bowed down to them ”
- and about adultery in the sense of loving the world: in the Epistle of James: “ You adulterers and adulterers, do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God ?” (James 4:4)
- and about adultery in the sense of loving money: (Hosea 9:1) “ Do not rejoice, O Israel, as the other nations do, because you have committed adultery against your God and have loved rewards …”
So the background of this statement in question makes it clear that it is not adultery of a woman in the literal sexual sense, but adultery of a nation in the metaphorical spiritual sense of separating from God and worshipping other gods.
Third: The inappropriate words in this statement.
Is it permissible to mention such words in the revelation? This is the core of the objection . To answer that, we say that we cannot judge any text unless we study its circumstances and conditions, the language used at the time, and the traditions and customs of the people at that time. Let us clarify the following matters:
(1) These words were a description of the evils that were actually practiced in the rituals and ceremonies of idol worship at that time.. This was mentioned in the Encyclopaedia Britannica [Encyclopaedia Britannica Vol. 12 P. 782] which says: One of the rituals of joining the worship of idols was that they practiced sex in scandalous prostitution as a sign of the union of idol worshippers into one entity. [This is the same image that the Lord referred to through the mouth of the Prophet Ezekiel here, rebuking and punishing for committing it!] (2) These scandalous, profane
rituals were not in the eyes of their doers shameful and ugly, otherwise they would not have practiced them, but they were pride and glory for them, and for this reason the Book says about them “ their glory is in their shame ” (Philippians 3:19), so the Lord wanted to expose the ugliness of what they commit and the shame of what they do. (3) If mentioning these things is thus ugly, as the Book says, “ For it is shameful even to mention the things that have occurred to them ” (Ephesians 5:12), then how shameful was their action. Wasn’t that worthy of exposure, rebuke, and punishment? (4) In fact, God mentioned these vices to punish the nation for them, and for this reason, in this part of Ezekiel, the Lord’s judgment of condemnation came, as is clear from His saying: “Therefore, behold, I will stir up your lovers against you… They will come against you with weapons and chariots… They will condemn you… I will do this to you, because you have committed adultery with the nations, because you have defiled yourself with their idols.” (Ezekiel 23:22-31) (5) Moreover, we see in the courtroom that the prosecution asks the criminals to reenact the crime, no matter how hideous it is, with all its shameful details. Is there any shame or disgrace in that? Or aren’t the words of revelation in Ezekiel of this type? Are they not proof of the crime of spiritual adultery in its hideousness and impurity? Why is that considered inappropriate when there is no objection to what the public prosecution does to expose the crime? (6) There remains one final point that I hope the questioner will accept in good faith, knowing that we respect all religions and the beliefs of others with all respect. I say that such words have been mentioned in the Holy Qur’an and the authentic hadiths. It is not considered inappropriate or objectionable. Rather, as the Arab proverb says, “There is no shame in religion.” Fourth: Some words from the Qur’an (1) The word ribs that appeared in Ezekiel and is the subject of the objection appeared in the Holy Qur’an in Surat At-Tariq, verses 5 to 7, where it says, “ So let man consider from what he was created. He was created from a fluid ejected, proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs. ” (2) The same word semen that appears in Ezekiel here appeared in the Holy Qur’an in Surat Al-Qiyamah, verses 36-39, where it says, “ Does man think that he will be left neglected? Was he not a drop of ejaculated semen? Then he was a clot, and He created and proportioned [it], and made from him the two mates, the male and the female ?” (3) Among these words is also what appears in Surat Al-Ahzab, verse 50, “ And a believing woman if she offers herself to the Prophet, if the Prophet wishes to marry her, purely for him from Without the believers… so that there will be no blame upon you ” (4) and also what came in Surat An-Nur, verse 31: “ And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts ” (5) and also in Surat At-Tur, Al-Waqi’ah, and Al-Insan what came about the description of Paradise and what is in it of wine, houris, and immortal boys: In Surah Al-Waqi’ah (16-25) “ There will circulate among them immortal boys with goblets and pitchers and a cup of pure wine… and wide-eyed houris… and We made them virgins. ” And it is explained in Surah Al-Insan (19-23) “
And We have given them to Houris with beautiful eyes… They will compete therein for a cup in which there is no idle talk or sin, and there will circulate among them young boys as if they were hidden pearls .”
And here are the comments of some of the distinguished Muslim scholars:
+ Professor Muhammad Jalal Kishk: He says: “ It is proven in the text of the Qur’an that Houris are for sexual enjoyment ” (Muslim Thoughts on the Sexual Issue, p. 20)
+ Sheikh Al-Ghazali says: In (The Book of Revival of the Religious Sciences) “ And Paradise is adorned with Houris of beautiful eyes, as if they were rubies and coral, no human or jinn has touched them (i.e., has not had intercourse with them) before them. They walk in the degrees of Paradise. If one of them struts in her walk, seventy thousand young boys will carry her garments (i.e., pampered), fragrant, secure, free from decrepitude .”
+ Professor Muhammad Jalal Kishk also comments on this pleasure and enjoyment, saying: “ There is no room for any shyness or humiliation in terms of the sensual demands of the body.” He continues by saying: “There is no defect or ugliness in the body, nor in fulfilling its legitimate needs and desires in this world, nor in looking forward to unlimited bodily pleasure in the hereafter ”

Would anyone dare to say that this is obscene and vulgar speech?!! Why would the objector dare to criticize the words of the Book of Ezekiel when all of its expressions did not reach even a speck of this speech?!
Fifth: Some words from the noble hadiths
. Many words of this kind have been mentioned in the authentic and verified hadiths and are not considered reprehensible or ugly about: sexual intercourse and the feelings and sensations that accompany it and how each part of the body enjoys. Also, the hadiths that were said about the sexual relationship of the Noble Messenger with the Mothers of the Believers, especially Lady Aisha. Whoever wants to know this should read the following references:
(1) Sahih al-Bukhari.
(2) Sahih Muslim.
(3) The book Islam and Sex by Dr. Abdul Wahhab Bouhdiba, introduced by Professor Hala Al-Aouri.
(4) The Book of the Prophet’s Women by Dr. Aisha Abdul Rahman bint Al-Shati.
(5) The Book of Muslim Thoughts on the Sexual Issue by Professor Muhammad Jalal Kishk, published by the Islamic Heritage Library .

So look at what your Lord said about the collarbones (tazaghaght), did you find anything inappropriate in this (noble) and (sacred) verse and not as it came in your book (there their breasts were tickled and there their virginity collarbones were tickled) Glory be to God... Look, my beloved, at the difference between the Quran and the unholy book.
They say: ((2) The same word semen that is in Ezekiel here has been mentioned in the Holy Quran in Surah (Al-Qiyamah, verses 36-39) where it says: “Does man think that he will be left neglected? We say, and Allah is the Grantor of success: I do not know where the inappropriate word is… Is it (marry her)? Glory be to Allah… So the word (marry her) means marriage. God Almighty said: “O you who believe! When you marry believing women and then divorce them before you have touched them, then you have no waiting period to count for them. So provide for them and release them with good treatment.” [Al-Ahzab 49]
And as stated in Lisan Al-Arab:
[Someone fornicated with her (his saying [someone fornicated with her, etc.] its root is to prevent and beat as in the dictionary) a woman whom he fornicates with in a marriage if he marries her. And he fornicated with her: he also had sexual intercourse with her, and likewise he pushed her and forced her; Al-A'sha said about the word "nikah" meaning "marry": "
And do not approach a neighbor, for her secret is forbidden to you, so marry them or keep them together forever." Al-Azhari said
: "And the words of God Almighty: The adulterer does not marry except an adulteress or a polytheist, and the adulteress is not married except by an adulterer or a polytheist
." Its interpretation is that the adulterer does not marry except an adulteress, and likewise the adulteress is not married except by an adulterer.
