Confessions of scholars about the divinity of Jesus
In the
name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful And when God said, “O Jesus, son of Mary, did you say to the people, ‘Take me and my mother as gods besides God?’” He said, “Glory be to You! It is not for me to say that which I have no right to. If I had said it, You knew it. You know what is within my soul, and I do not know what is within Your soul. Indeed, You are the Knower of the unseen.” (116) Surah Al-Ma’idah,
Saadi’s interpretation
{And when God said, “O Jesus, son of Mary, did you say to the people, ‘Take me and my mother as gods besides God?’” He said, “Glory be to You! It is not for me to say that which I have no right to. If I had said it, You knew it. You know what is within my soul, and I do not know what is within Your soul. Indeed, You are the Knower of the unseen.”} Jesus, son of Mary, did you say to the people, “Take me and my mother as two gods besides God?” This is a rebuke to the Christians who said: God is the third of three. So God says these words to Jesus. Then Jesus disavows himself and says : {Glory be to You} for these ugly words, and for what is not befitting of You. {It is not for me to say that which I have no right to} meaning: it is not appropriate for me, nor is it appropriate for me to say something that is not from my descriptions or from my rights, for none of the created beings, neither the close angels nor the sent prophets nor anyone else, has any right or entitlement to the position of divinity. Rather, all are servants, managers, and creations that are subjected to them, and poor and helpless. {If I have said it, then You know it. You know what is within my soul, and I do not know what is within Your soul} for You are the most knowledgeable of what has come from me. {Indeed, You are the Knower of the unseen} This is from the perfection of the etiquette of the Messiah, peace and blessings be upon him, in his address to his Lord. He, peace be upon him, did not say: “I did not say anything of that,” but rather he informed with words that negated from himself the possibility of saying any statement that contradicts His noble position, and that this is one of the impossible matters, and he completely exonerated his Lord from that, and he returned knowledge to the Knower of the unseen and the seen.

Christ, upon him be the best prayers and the purest peace, never ceased to remind us that he is nothing more than a mere human being :
“But now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth which I heard from God . This is what Abraham did not do.” (John 8:40).
Acts 3 Catholic (Jesuit) Translation
: The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers , has glorified his servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied before Pilate .
