Jesus Christ between heaven and earth

 A famous text that Christians often use in their dialogues to prove the divinity of Christ is the text found in John

3:13 : “No one has ascended to heaven except He who came down from heaven, the Son of Man who is in heaven.”
The Christian tries hard to prove that Jesus is the incarnate God who descended from heaven to earth in his human form or humanity as Christians call him, while at the same time remaining in heaven in his divinity.
This is not the argument of the majority of Christians alone, but it is also what came in the books of interpretation. Let us review the statements of some of the interpreters.


Father Matta El Meskeen says in his interpretation of this text:

The verse in question, “…except for He who descended from heaven, the Son of Man who is in heaven,” is an extremely simplified explanation of the incarnation based on the verses of the Old Testament in which God’s descent is mentioned, but in which “Son of Man” is substituted for the word “God” because God appeared in the flesh.


Father Tadros Yacoub Malaty says in his interpretation of this text:

Here he may be referring to a misconception among some Jews that Moses ascended to heaven where he received the law and brought it down to Israel. The Lord corrects their concept by affirming that no one ascends to heaven except the Son of Man who descended from heaven and remained in his divinity filling heaven."


Father Antonius Fikry says in his interpretation of the same text:

Here Christ began to explain the heavenly things to Nicodemus according to what he could understand. He came to give a better life to man in which he is born from above. Although Christ descended from above, he will ascend to above. However, he, in his divinity, did not leave heaven. He, the heavenly one, descended to carry us to heaven in him .

It was stated in Hilal Amin’s interpretation:

This verse shows us the basis of that complete knowledge of heavenly things that the Lord Jesus has. He speaks of heavenly things, not as a prophet who has been given words about things he did not know before and was inspired to speak about them, but he speaks about things that he knows and is fully aware of . If he speaks about man, it is because he knows what is in man in a way that no one has known before. If he speaks about God, he knows what is in God because he is one of the hypostases of the Godhead, and although he became man, he was still God whose throne is in heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain him . But only the Lord Jesus is the one about whom this saying was said: “No one has ascended to heaven except he who came down from heaven.” The one who descended is the same one who ascended. The one who descended is God, and the one who ascended is God - who fills all things, “and he is the Son of Man who is in heaven.” The Lord did not say “the Son of him who was in heaven” but “the Son of him who is in heaven” - this could not have been said about him if he were not God who fills heaven and earth .

If this statement contradicts logic and is contrary to reason, then it also contradicts transmission. We will prove this with pictures from the oldest papyri as well as from translations. The part that Christians cite to prove that Jesus who came down from heaven is the same God who is in heaven, “ who is in heaven, ” is added and does not exist in the oldest papyri.

John 3:13 And no one has ascended to heaven except He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.

The text ends in both Papyrus 66 and Papyrus 75 with the word υιος του ανθρωπου Son of Man.

We do not find any trace of the phrase
“who is in heaven” “who is in heaven”


As we have proven the distortion with the papyrus images, it is also proven with the translations.

This part, “ who is in heaven ,” was added to support a theological idea. Jesus Christ is not the one in heaven and is not God. Jesus Christ did not say that he is God, but rather that he is a messenger from God
. “ And this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. ” (John 3:17)
God Almighty spoke the truth when He said, “ They have certainly disbelieved who say, ‘God is the Messiah, the son of Mary.’ And the Messiah said, ‘O children of Israel, worship God, my Lord and your Lord.’ Indeed, whoever associates others with God—God has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there is nothing for the wrongdoers.” From the supporters of “ (Al-Ma’idah 72) ”
Even if the end of the text is added, its beginning is also incorrect. Jesus was not the only one who ascended to heaven. Enoch, Elijah, Melchizedek, and the Virgin Mary all ascended to heaven.
This is Enoch ascending to heaven
Gen 5:24 And Enoch walked with God, and he was not found, because God took him.
Heb 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and he was not found, because God had translated him. For before his translation he received the testimony of him, that he pleased God.
And Elijah ascended to heaven
2Ki 2:11 And it came to pass, as they journeyed and talked, that, behold, a chariot of fire and horses of fire separated the two of them: and Elijah went up into heaven by a whirlwind.

The Virgin Mary also ascended to heaven.
John of Samadoni says:
(The Virgin is truly full of grace because sin never touched her because she possessed all the virtues and all the gifts of the Holy Spirit and because she accomplished actions that were acceptable before God, so she deserved to ascend to heaven with soul and body, transcending the angelic glories.




So how, after all this evidence, can it be said that no one ascended to heaven except Jesus Christ??
And how can Christians cite a text like this that combines lies and distortion to prove the divinity of Christ???
