Islamic ruling on females and their birth

Islam's view of the female and her birth:
No religion, heavenly book, or man-made law has honored women as Islam has honored them. From the time that God announced to His angels that He would create a human being on earth, He made her a successor to God, representing Him on earth and a partner with man in her succession. Therefore, He lifted from her the shackles that other books had placed on her neck, and honored her when people and followers of other religions had belittled her, and raised her when people and Christian philosophers had placed her. And the Jews, so He honored her as a daughter, mother, wife and sister. And you can imagine that God made the goal of all worshippers, ascetics and renunciates under the feet of a woman: He linked Paradise to the bottom of the mother’s feet, a woman.

And He increased her honor by making the world feminine, and men serve it, and males worship it, and work for it, and the earth is feminine, and from it Adam was created, and the wilderness was created, and in it the offspring multiplied, and they were commanded to populate it, and preserve it, and fight for the eternity of God’s law upon it, as they were commanded to prostrate to God upon it, and the sky is feminine, and it is decorated with planets, and adorned with stars, which guide men on their way to safety, and the soul is feminine, and it is the foundation of bodies, and the angel of animals, and life is feminine, and without it bodies would not function, and people would not know, and Paradise is feminine, and in it the pious were promised, and in it the messengers, martyrs and righteous enjoy.

Look at how Allah honored the father who had a daughter:
On the authority of Abdullah, meaning Ibn Masoud, he said: I heard the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say: “Whoever has a daughter, educates her, educates her well, teaches her well, and provides her with some of the blessings Allah has bestowed upon him, then it will be a protection for him and a screen from the Fire.” Narrated by Al-Tabarani.

And on the authority of Abu Hurairah, that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “Whoever has three daughters, treats them well, shelters them, and takes care of them, Paradise is obligatory for him.” We said: “And two daughters?” He said: “And two daughters.” We said: “And one?” He said: “And one.” Narrated by Al-Tabarani in Al-Awsat (Majma’ Al-Zawa’id, vol. 8, p. 158).

This care and attention did not only include a man’s daughters, but more than that, Allah decided that Paradise is the destination of whoever educates his female slave and treats her well: (On the authority of Abu Burdah, on the authority of Abu Musa, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “Whoever has a female slave, treats her well, treats her well, then frees her and marries her, then he will have two rewards.”) Sahih Al-Bukhari, vol. 2, p. 899.

This is an honor that Allah did not give to the father who had a son!! God has entered him into the competition to win heaven! Just because he is the father of a daughter! Let the father of daughters rejoice and boast over the father of sons!
Sigrid Hunke says: (The ornaments that the European gives to his lover or the wife of his friend or his boss, whether they are genuine diamonds or polished glass, are a custom imported from the East, and people practice it every day, without knowing its source.)

In fact, Islam does not differentiate between men and women on the basis of the superiority of one over the other, but according to the nature of each of them or the duties assigned to them. Islam has made them equal in humanity, duties, and rights. Rather, it has given women attention and care that was not included in the Holy Book or the history of the Jewish, Christian, or even pagan peoples. Nor has any man-made law treated women fairly and raised them up. Rather, it made them a crown on the heads of men and society, as Islam did.

The mercy of God, sent to all of humanity, came with qualities that changed the ugly face of history, to create a life that humanity had never known in its civilizations. Thus, Islam liberated women in every sense of the word: it liberated them in all psychological, physical, mental, security, and scientific aspects.

Islam came to say: (And they have rights similar to those of their husbands, according to what is equitable ) Al-Baqarah 228.

It came to say: (And live with them in kindness) An-Nisaa 19.

It came to say: (So do not prevent them) Al-Baqarah 232. It came to say: (And provide for them, according to the means of the wealthy, and according to the means of the poor) Al-Baqarah 236. It came to say: (Lodge them where you live, according to your means) At-Talaq 6. It came to say: (And do not harm them in order to restrict them) At-Talaq 6. It came to say: (Then give them their due compensation) (An obligation) An-Nisa 24 And he came to say: (And for women is a share of what the parents and near relatives leave) An-Nisa 7 And he came to say: (And for women is a share of what they have earned) An-Nisa 32 And he came to say: (And give them from the wealth of Allah which He has given you) An-Nur 33 And he came to say: (And you are a garment for them) Al-Baqarah 187 And he came to say: (These are my daughters; they are purer for you) Hud 78 And he came to say: (So do not seek a way against them) An-Nisa 34 And he came to say: (It is not lawful for you to (Do not inherit women against their will) An-Nisa 19 And he came to say: (And do not prevent them from marrying you in order to take away part of what you gave them) An-Nisa 19 And he came to say: (Then either keep [her] in an acceptable manner or release [her] with good treatment) Al-Baqarah 229 And the noble Messenger came to show us the status of women, so he was asked, “Who is the most beloved person to you?” He said, “Aisha.” And the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, would be given a gift, and he would say, “Take it to so-and-so, for she was a friend of Khadija’s.” He is the one who said: (Treat women well) and he is the one who said: (A believing man should not hate a believing woman. If he dislikes one characteristic in her, he will be pleased with another) and he is the one who said: (Women are the twin halves of men) and he is the one who said: ( The best of you is the best to his family, and I am the best of you to my family ) and he is the one who said: (And they have the right to be provided for and clothed by you in a reasonable manner) and he is the one who said : (The greatest reward is the dinar that you spend on your family) and he is the one who said : (Among the happiness of the son of Adam is a righteous woman) and from his guidance: (On the authority of Aisha, she said: I and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to bathe from the same vessel) and he is the one who said: (And whatever you spend is charity, even the morsel that you raise to your wife’s mouth) and from his sayings: (A woman said: O Messenger of Allah, pray for me and my husband, so he, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: May Allah pray for you and your husband)

There is much evidence and proof that Islam is the true liberator of women from slavery. In fact, it made their rights part of the entity of religion itself and part of the general rights of man before the Universal Declaration of Human Rights legislated them by more than fourteen centuries. Islam legislated them in the sixth century AD, while the Universal Declaration was in 1948 (i.e. in the twentieth century).

And because women’s rights in Islam - as I mentioned - are part of the general rights of man, Islam guaranteed women rights that gave them life itself with all honor, pride and dignity, and made them partners in all matters of political and social life, and took into account the psychological, feminine and sexual aspects of women. And in order to make this matter clear, I will explain the preservation of women’s rights in Islam while they are fetuses in their mothers’ wombs until they meet their Lord:

1- Islam preserved the rights of women before they were born, so God made them a vicegerent on earth, and made them share in the duties with Adam, as God Almighty said: (And when your Lord said to the angels, “Indeed, I will place upon the earth a vicegerent”) Al-Baqarah 30.

2- Islam preserved their humanity and made them equal to men in origin and upbringing, as God Almighty said:
(O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of God is the most righteous of you. Indeed, God is Knowing. (All-Knowing) Al-Hujurat 13

(O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women) An-Nisa 1

And the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: (Women are the twin halves of men)

3- Islam preserved her by making her one of His signs, requiring both men and women to thank God for her, as God Almighty said: (And among His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them, and He put between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who do not disbelieve.) (They ponder) Ar-Rum 21

4- Islam preserved it by making it a gift from God to humanity, as God Almighty said: (He grants to whom He wills females and He grants to whom He wills males) Ash-Shura 49

5- Islam preserved its entity in society by considering it responsible for establishing virtue and eliminating vice on earth, by enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, just like a man. Thus, He burdened her with the responsibility of religion and calling to it, and made it a trust around her neck and the neck of the man: (And the believing men and believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. Those - Allah will have mercy upon them. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.) At-Tawbah 71

6- Islam protected the female and made assaulting her a foolishness, rather it considered it a sin, and made the Muslim home rejoice at her arrival:
(And when one of them is given good news, As for the female, his face darkened, and he was filled with inward grief. He hid himself from his people because of the evil of the news he had been given. Should he keep her in disgrace or bury her in the dust? Unquestionably, evil is what they decide. (An-Nahl 58-59)

(Indeed, those who kill their children foolishly without knowledge and forbid what Allah has provided for them, inventing a lie against Allah, have certainly gone astray, and they were not [rightly] guided.) Al-An`am 140

7- Islam preserved women by making killing them the same as killing all of humanity, and in this she is equal to men. Allah the Almighty said: (Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption done in the land - it is as if he had killed mankind entirely. And whoever saves a life - it is as if he had killed all of humanity.) 8- Islam preserved the rights of women

while they are in their mother’s womb. If their mother is divorced while they are pregnant with them, Islam requires the father to spend on the mother during the period of pregnancy. (And if they are pregnant, then spend on them until they give birth.) At-Talaq 6.

9- Islam preserved the rights of women so that the punishment is not carried out on their mothers, so that she is not affected while she is in her mother’s womb. (And when the woman from Ghamid came and said, “O Messenger of God, purify me,” he said to her, “Until you give birth to what is in your womb.”)

10- Islam preserved the rights of the breastfeeding woman. 11- Islam preserved the rights of the breastfeeding

woman, so it gave her a reward, which is a right shared by the breastfeeding mother and the nursing mother. (But if they breastfeed for you, give them their payment) At-Talaq 6.

12- Islam preserved the rights of the newborn woman in terms of maintenance and clothing. (And the father of the child shall bear their food and clothing on equitable terms) Al-Baqarah 233.

13- Islam preserved the rights of the female child by making the father offer an ‘aqeeqah for her like a male child. The jurists differed regarding its amount, with a group going as far as saying that it is two sheep for a male child and one sheep for a female child.

Others, including Imam Malik, saw that it is a sheep for both males and females, citing as evidence a hadith narrated by Ibn Abbas: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, sacrificed a ram each for Al-Hassan and Al-Hussein.

14- Islam preserved the woman’s right during the period of custody, which extends to a few years, and obligated the husband to provide for her during this period, based on the general evidence of providing for children.

15- Islam preserved the woman’s right to inheritance in general, whether she is young or old. God Almighty said: (But if there are more than two women, they shall have two-thirds of what he leaves; if there is only one, she shall have half) (Repeated No. 26)

16- Islam preserved her psychologically, morally, and socially by making her equal to men in most of the duties:
(And worship God and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do good, and to relatives, orphans, and the needy And the neighbor who is a relative and the neighbor who is a stranger and the companion at your side and the wayfarer and those whom your right hands possess. Indeed, Allah does not like anyone who is arrogant and boastful. (An-Nisaa 36

) And those who have believed and done righteous deeds - We will surely remove from them their misdeeds and will surely reward them according to the best of what they used to do. And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. But if they strive to make you associate with Me that which is not yours, then do not be arrogant. They have knowledge of it, so do not obey them. To Me is your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do. And those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will surely admit them among the righteous. (Al-Ankabut 7-9)

(Indeed, Allah commands justice and the doing of good and liberality to kith and kin and forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression. He instructs you that perhaps you will be reminded. And fulfill the covenant of Allah when you have made it and do not break oaths after their confirmation while you have made Allah a guarantor over you. Indeed, Allah knows what you do.) An-Nahl 90-91

(Do not set up with Allah another deity. And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And to parents, do good. Whether one or both of them reach old age with you, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but say to them a generous word. And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small." Your Lord is most knowing of what is within your souls. And be righteous, for indeed, He is ever, to the frequently turning back, Forgiving. And give to the relative his right, and to the needy and the traveler, and do not spend wastefully. Indeed, the wasteful are brothers of the devils, and ever has Satan been to his Lord ungrateful. And if you turn away from them, seeking mercy from your Lord which you expect, then speak to them a gentle word, and do not make your hand chained to [something], Your neck, and do not stretch it out completely, lest you sit down blamed and destitute. Indeed, your Lord extends provision to whom He wills and restricts it. Indeed, He is ever, of His servants, Acquainted and Seeing. And do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide for them and for you. Indeed, their killing is ever a great sin. And do not come near to adultery. Indeed, it is ever an immorality and is evil as a way. And do not kill The soul which Allah has forbidden, except by right. And whoever is killed unjustly - We have given his heir authority, but let him not exceed limits in taking life. Indeed, he has been supported. And do not approach the property of an orphan, except in a way that is best, until he reaches maturity. And fulfill [all] commitments. Indeed, the commitment will be questioned about. And give full measure when you measure, and weigh with a balance that is straight. That is better and more excellent in outcome. And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart - about all those one will be questioned. And do not walk through the earth exultantly. Indeed, you will never tear the earth [apart], and you will never reach the mountains in height. All of that - the evil of it is, in the sight of your Lord, hateful. That is from what your Lord has revealed to you of wisdom. And do not set up with God another deity.

17- Preserving the Islam of women by Allah Himself defending them and threatening those who harm them, and she shares this with men: (And those who harm believing men and believing women for [
something] other than what they have earned have certainly borne upon themselves a slander and a manifest sin) Al-Ahzab 58

(Indeed, those who have persecuted believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire) Al-Buruj 10

18- Islam preserved the rights of women by asking believers to have a high etiquette when entering homes to preserve women’s honor and reputation, and to keep them away from places of error and temptation:
(O you who have believed, do not enter houses other than your own houses until you have asked permission and greeted their people. That is better for you that you may remember. * But if you do not find anyone therein, do not enter it until you are permitted. And if you are told, “Go back,” then go back.
That is purer for you. And Allah is Knowing and Wise. ) (Allah is All-Knowing of what you do) An-Nur 27-28

19- Islam preserved women by ordering His Messenger to ask Allah for forgiveness for them:
(So know that there is no god but Allah, and ask forgiveness for your sin and for the believing men and believing women. And Allah knows your movement and your resting place) Muhammad 19

20- Islam also preserved polytheistic women by prohibiting their killing in wars:
On the authority of Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, he said: (A woman was found killed in one of the Prophet’s (PBUH) campaigns, so he prohibited the killing of women and children) [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

21- Islam preserved women and prohibited burying them alive while they were young, and imposed good upbringing and education for them :
Allah the Almighty said: (And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked, for what sin she was killed) And the
Prophet (PBUH) said: (Whoever has a female and does not bury her alive, does not humiliate her, and does not prefer his son over her, Allah will admit him into Paradise.)

22- Islam has preserved women by considering them as one of the basic components of the good things of this world and the Hereafter.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: (Four things, whoever is given them has been given the good of this world and the Hereafter: (A grateful heart, a tongue that remembers, a body that is patient in adversity, and a wife who does not seek him out of fear for herself or his wealth.)

23- Islam has preserved women by making them the best thing in the entire world .
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: (The world is a provision, and the best provision of it is a righteous woman.)

24- Islam has preserved women by making Paradise the goal of every believer’s life under her feet. So what is this honor that women have attained in Islam? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: (Paradise is under the feet of mothers.)

It was narrated that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the Prophet asked him: (Do you have a mother?) He said: Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: (Stick to her, for Paradise is under her feet.)

25- Islam preserved women by removing from them the curse of eternal sin that previous religions had branded them with, and considered them and their husbands to have sinned, then granted them repentance and forgiveness. God Almighty said: (Then Satan caused them to slip from it and removed them from that in which they had been) Al-Baqarah 36, and He said: (Then Satan whispered to them) Al-A’raf 20.

And when He condemned a person alone, He condemned only Adam, as God Almighty said: (Then Satan whispered to him, saying, “O Adam, shall I guide you to the tree of eternity and a kingdom that will not decay?”) Taha 120.

26- Islam preserved women by giving them a share in the inheritance, after they had been a part of it. God Almighty said: (Men shall have a share of what parents and close relatives leave, and women shall have a share of what parents and close relatives leave, be it little or much - an obligatory share.) An-Nisaa’ 7 So

He decided a share for her in the inheritance as a wife, as a daughter, as a mother, and as a sister.

(Allah instructs you concerning your children: for the male, what is equal to the share of two females. If there are more than two daughters, they shall have two-thirds of what he leaves; if there is only one, she shall have half. And for his parents, to each one of them is a sixth of what he leaves if he left a child. But if he left no child and his parents are his heirs, then for his mother is a third. But if he left brothers, then for his mother is a sixth after any bequest he may have made. Or the debt of your fathers and your sons - you do not know which of them is nearer to you in benefit; an obligation from Allah. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Wise. And for you is half of what your wives leave if they have no child. But if they have a child, then for you is a fourth of what they leave after any bequest they may have made or debt. And for them is a fourth of what you leave if you have no child. But if you have a child, then a fourth of what they leave after any bequest they may have made or debt. And for them is a fourth of what you leave if you have no child. But if you have a child, then a fourth of what they leave after any debt they may have made. And for them is an eighth of what you leave after any bequest you may have made or debt. And if there is a man or a woman who dies as a result of not leaving children, but has a brother or a sister, then for each one of them is a sixth. But if there are more than that, then they are partners in a third after any bequest you may have made or debt, not causing harm. A bequest from Allah. And Allah is Knowing and Forbearing. (An-Nisa’ 11-12)

27- Islam has preserved women by granting them all their civil rights: they have the right to conclude contracts, such as buying and selling. And a license, a partnership, a loan, a mortgage, a gift, and that she delegates someone else, and that she delegates someone else in what she owns.

28- Islam preserved women by removing permanent minors from them, and affirmed their full capacity, granting them the right of guardianship over their money and affairs.

29- Islam preserved women by mentioning them only when God Almighty spoke about good deeds, so He Almighty said in general: (Whoever does evil will not be recompensed except with the like thereof) Ghafir 40. As for good, He mentioned both males and females: (And whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - those will enter Paradise and will be provided for therein without account) Ghafir 40.

30- Islam preserved the woman’s right to choose the appropriate husband, and she has the right to accept or reject if she is a widow, based on the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: (Do not marry a widow until you consult her) and his saying: (The guardian has no say in the matter with a widow).

In the two Sahihs: Al-Khansa’ bint Hizam was married by her father while she was Unwillingly, and she was previously married! So she came to the Messenger of Allah,

peace and blessings be upon him, and he annulled her marriage. 31- Islam preserved the right of a woman if she is a virgin, so she is not to be married except with her permission, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: (And do not marry a virgin until you ask her permission).

It was mentioned in the Sunnah from the hadith of Ibn Abbas: A virgin girl came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and mentioned that her father

married her off against her will. So the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gave her the choice. A girl came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: My father married me to my nephew to raise his status through me. The narrator said: So he left her matter to her.

She said: I have approved what my father did! But I wanted to teach women: that fathers have no say in the matter.

32- Islam preserved the right of a woman in her dowry, and made it obligatory for her to have a dowry (So for those of them whom you have enjoyed, give them their due compensation as an obligation) An-Nisa 24

33- Islam preserved the right of a woman who has been divorced, if she finds that she no longer desires her husband, she can divorce him in exchange for ransom, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): “Accept the garden and divorce her.”

34- Islam preserved the right of a divorced woman: “

Divorced women are entitled to a provision according to what is acceptable - a duty upon the righteous.” (Al-Baqarah 241) 35- Islam preserved the right of a widowed woman, and gave her a right in her husband’s estate: Allah the Most High said: “And they shall have a fourth of what you leave if you have no child; but if you have a child, they shall have an eighth of what you leave.” (An-Nisa’ 12) 36- Islam preserved the right of a woman to divorce before consummation, and that is in the absence of waiting period. Allah the Most High said: “O you who have divorced, have a fourth of what you leave if you have no child.” (An-Nisa’ 12) 37- Islam preserved the right of a woman to divorce before consummation, and that is in the absence of waiting period. Allah the Most High said: “O you who have divorced, have a fourth of what you leave if you have no child.”

(An-Nisa’ 12) 38- Islam preserved the right of a woman to divorce before consummation, and that is in the absence of waiting period. Allah the Most High said: “O you who have divorced, have a fourth of what you leave if you have no child.” (An-Nisa’ 12) Those who believe, when you marry believing women and then divorce them before you have touched them, there is no waiting period for you to count for them. (Al-Ahzab 49)

37- Islam preserved the right of the orphan woman and gave her a share of the spoils. Allah the Most High said: (And know that whatever you gain of anything, a fifth of it is for Allah and for the Messenger and for the near relatives and the orphans.) (Al-Anfal 41)

and gave her a share of the public treasury. Allah the Most High said: (What Allah has bestowed upon His Messenger from the people of the towns 38- Islam preserved the woman’s right in her social life , and preserved the integrity

of her chest, and the unity of her ranks with her relatives, so it forbade her from being united with her sister, her aunt, and her maternal aunt, as in the verse and the mutawatir hadith. 39- Islam preserved the woman’s right in Preserving her honor, so looking at her is forbidden (Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision) An-Nur 30 40- Islam preserved the woman’s right to punish whoever accuses her of immorality, without evidence, by flogging (And those who accuse chaste women but do not produce four witnesses - flog them with eighty lashes) An-Nur 4 41- Islam preserved the woman’s right if she is a mother, it obligated her to be treated kindly and righteously, and warned against saying “ugh” in her right, rather it made entering Paradise dependent on her satisfaction. 42- Islam preserved the woman’s right to housing: (Lodge them where you dwell, according to your means) At-Talaq 6 43- Islam preserved the woman’s right to her health, so it exempted her from fasting if she was breastfeeding or pregnant 44- Islam preserved the woman’s right to make a will, so she can make a will for what comes after her death, Allah the Almighty said: (After any bequest they may have made or debt) An-Nisa’ 12 45- Islam preserved the woman’s right to rent: Umm Hani’ gave rent to a polytheist in her house, Ali wanted to kill him based on the orders of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and she did not know that the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had permitted his blood to be shed. So she went and complained to the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he said to her: (We have given rent to the one you gave rent, O Umm Hani’).

46- Islam preserved the right of women to political independence in their own person, and this is evident in the female leadership led by Hind bint Utbah when she headed the women’s delegation to pledge allegiance to the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace.

If you know that the one who narrated this hadith is Umaimah bint Ruqayyah, it is not far-fetched to see on her face as well the signs of: (Secretary of the Women’s Movement). So the Messenger of

God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: (I pledge allegiance to you that you will not associate anything with God)

. Hind said: How can we hope that He will accept from us what He does not accept from men? So
the Messenger of God, may God

bless him and grant him peace, said: (And do not steal). Hind said: Abu Sufyan is a stingy man! I have taken some of his money here; I do not know if it is permissible for me or not? Abu Sufyan - who was present - said: Whatever you have taken in the past is permissible for you. So the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, laughed and recognized her and said to her: (And you are Hind bint Utbah!)

Hind said: Yes! So forgive what has passed, O Prophet of Allah, and may Allah forgive you.

So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: (And do not commit adultery!) She

said: Can a free woman commit adultery?

He said: (And do not kill your children)

. She said: We raised them when they were young, and killed them when they were adults. You and they know best! (Referring to the killing of her son Hanzala, who was killed on the day of Badr). Omar - who was present - laughed until he lay on his back! And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) smiled.

He said: (And do not come with slander!)

She said: Indeed, slander is an ugly matter! You only command us to be guided and have good morals!

He said: (And do not disobey me in what is right)

. She said: By Allah, we did not sit in this meeting with the intention of disobeying you in anything.

Look at this great phenomenon: the phenomenon of women’s freedom in their discussions and dialogue with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! A freedom that men would not dream of before the greatest democratic kings on earth!!

Perhaps you understood from the Prophet’s (PBUH) pledge of allegiance to women, an allegiance that was independent of the man, that Islam considers them responsible for themselves, a special responsibility that is independent of the man’s responsibility!

Before the whole world knew what was called political rights, whether for men or women, the Muslim woman enjoyed this right at its highest levels - I mean her right to pledge allegiance to the head of state, just as men pledged allegiance to the Prophet (PBUH) to hear, obey, and abide by the rulings that the Shari’ah commands, which is what is known as “the pledge of allegiance.”

It was narrated in the two Sahihs that the women once gathered and said to the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him): “The men have defeated us! So set a day for us on your own. So he promised them a day on which he would meet them and preach to them and command them.”

You will not lack the clear verses that confirm women’s complete independence from men before Allah: “Allah presents an example for those who disbelieve: the wife of Noah and the wife of Lot. They were under two of Our righteous servants, but they betrayed them. So they did not avail them at all against Allah, and it was said, ‘Enter the Fire with those who enter.’” (At-Tahrim 10

) “Allah presents an example for those who believe: The wife of Pharaoh, when she said, “My Lord, build for me near You a house in Paradise and save me from Pharaoh and his deeds and save me from the wrongdoing people.” (At-Tahrim 11)

In the Qur’an, a woman is a righteous woman who is not affected by the righteousness or corruption of a man, or she is a wicked woman who is not benefited in the afterlife by the righteousness, piety, or tyranny of a man. She has an independent responsibility regarding her affairs before God! This is what made God direct blame at Adam and Eve for their sins.

47- Islam has preserved the opinion of women and guaranteed them the right to dialogue with the highest authority in the state regarding their marriage and children:
(Allah has heard the statement of the woman who argues with you concerning her husband and directs a complaint to Allah. And Allah hears your dialogue. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Seeing. (1) Those among you who swear to divorce their wives - they are not their mothers. Their mothers are none but those who gave birth to them. And indeed, they say an abomination of speech and falsehood. And indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.) Forgiving (2) And those who swear off their wives and then go back on what they said - then the freeing of a slave before they touch each other. This is what you are admonished to do, and Allah is Acquainted with what you do. (3) And whoever cannot find [that] - then a fast of two consecutive months before they touch each other. And whoever cannot - then the feeding of sixty poor persons. This is so that you may believe in Allah and His Messenger. And these are the limits of what is prescribed for you. (4) Al-Mujadilah 1-4

These four verses were revealed regarding an incident between Aws ibn al-Samit and his wife Khawlah bint Tha’labah. He said to her: You are to me like the back of my mother.

And it did not stop until verses were revealed denouncing those who pronounce zihar from their wives, rebuking them, and laying out a way to escape from zihar, and clarifying that it is not a divorce nor a cause for separation.

And then look at how the Qur’an made the woman’s argument with the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, a Qur’an that will be recited until the Day of Judgment, and made it a general and eternal legislation.

The verses of zihar and its rulings in Islamic law and in the Holy Qur’an are a trace of women’s thought, and an eternal divine page in which we glimpse throughout the ages the image of Islam’s respect for women’s opinions, and that Islam does not see them as creatures led by men’s thoughts and opinions, but rather they have their own opinions. And their opinions have value in building Muslim society, and even in Islamic legislation.

48- Islam preserved the right of women to discuss and consult the ruler in matters that contradict Allah’s commands.
Based on this principle - which is the principle of respecting women’s opinions and that they have the right to think and express their opinions - Omar ibn al-Khattab accepted her criticism of him - while he was the Caliph of the Muslims - while he was addressing the people and warning them against exaggerating dowries! Omar soon returned to her opinion and blamed himself!!

49- He gave her the right to participate in supporting the religion of Allah:
He let her treat the mujahideen and provide them with water, and imposed jihad on her with everything she owned when the enemies invaded the Muslim state. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would draw lots among his wives when he wanted to invade or perform Hajj. He, peace and blessings be upon him, would give women from the spoils. He permitted the killing of women if they had a voice that was as strong as the enemy. Hadith scholars mentioned that the total number of those whom the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did not give security to on the day of the conquest was fourteen, six of whom were women.

This is an admission from Islam that there are women who have the strength of opinion and political power that makes them equal to several men!!

50- Islam preserved the woman’s right to preserve her humanity during her menstruation. It did not make her cause impurity in everything she touches. Rather, it allowed her husband to enjoy her and she to enjoy him, without intercourse.

51- Islam honored women by naming a surah after the greater woman, a surah after the lesser woman (known as Surat At-Talaq), and a surah after Maryam.

52- The Qur’an recorded the woman’s strong insight: she only saw him once when he watered their livestock for them. This level of insight does not enable a person to know the secrets and inner workings of souls, unless he was given the same power of insight as the daughter of Shu’ayb!
(One of the two women said, "O my father, hire him. Indeed, the best one you can hire is the strong and the trustworthy.") Al-Qasas 26

53- The Qur’an recorded the woman’s good trickery: and how she saved a child from the tyranny of Pharaoh with this good trickery: (And We had forbidden him wet nurses before, so she said, "Shall I direct you to a family who will take care of him for you and be sincere to him?") Al-Qasas 12

54- The Qur’an recorded the woman’s intelligence and foresight: So the Queen of Sheba said to her advisors: If he is truly a prophet, our guidance will not find a place in his heart, nor will it prevent him from conveying the command of his Lord. If not, he will be happy with it and refuse to fight us!!
(And indeed, I am sending to them a gift, and I will see with what the messengers return) An-Naml 35.

And she had what was destined for her after her consideration and knowledge of other nations, and her familiarity with something of the religions and civilizations of other peoples: (And when he came to Solomon, he said, “Do you provide me with wealth? But what Allah has given me is better than what He has given you. Rather, you rejoice in your gift. * Go back to them, and We will surely come to them with soldiers they cannot resist, and We will surely expel them from it humiliated, and they will be disgraced.”) (Saghiroon) An-Naml 36-37

55- The Qur’an recorded for women the goodness of their politics and the management of their kingdom on the basis of consultation and not being tyrannical in opinion:
(She said, “O eminent ones, indeed a noble letter has been delivered to me. Indeed, it is from Solomon, and indeed, it is, ‘In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Do not exalt yourselves above me, but come to me in submission.’ She said, “O eminent ones, advise me in my affair. I would not decide a matter until you witness it.” They said, “We are men of strength and men of understanding.”) (Severe force, and the command is yours, so consider what you will command.) She said, "Indeed, when kings enter a city, they corrupt it and make the most honored of its people the most humble. And thus they do." (An-Naml 29-34)

Look at the verses that depict the woman's wisdom and her probing of the depths of souls, and at the same time you will find that she was not deceived by what followers and partisans showed of showing pride in themselves and their strength, and not caring about others when speaking.

It also depicts her not blindly following what men said, even if they were senior state officials or those with opinions and advice, for the verses showed that she was more intelligent, wise, knowledgeable, perceptive, and had good management of great matters than them.

56- Islam preserved the rights of women by making them equal to men in bloodshed: This may be one of the most important aspects of equality between men and women in the human rights shared between them: it was decided that a man should be killed for a woman, and a woman for a man.

(And We ordained for them therein: “A life for a life”) Al-Ma’idah 45
(And in retaliation there is life for you, O people of understanding, that you may become righteous) Al-Baqarah 179

57- Islam preserved the rights of women by making them equal to men in cursing:
(And those who accuse chaste women but do not produce four witnesses - flog them with eighty lashes and do not accept their testimony ever after. And those are the wicked. Except for those who repent after that and amend - then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. And those who accuse their wives but have no witnesses except 58- Islam preserved the rights of women by making them equal to men in testimony: There are

cases in which only the testimony of women is accepted, without the testimony of men, and these are cases in which it is not customary for women to be informed. Men are not allowed to testify on issues such as childbirth, virginity, and women’s internal defects.

There is also the testimony of a man alone, which are issues whose topics arouse a woman’s emotions and she cannot bear them due to the emotions of mercy and life that are instilled in her, such as the prescribed punishments and retaliation.

However, they saw the acceptance of her testimony in matters of blood, if it is a specific way to prove the truth, and this is if the crime occurred in a place where there are only women. There are issues in which their testimonies are accepted together, which are issues whose topic is not from one of the two previous types.

59- Islam preserved the woman’s right to her body after her death, and this is shared

by men and women, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Breaking the bone of a dead person is like breaking it when he is alive.” 60- Islam preserved the woman’s right while she is in her grave, and this is shared by men and women, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “It is better for one of you to sit on a hot coal that burns his clothes and reaches his skin than for him to sit on a grave.”

61- Islam preserved the woman’s right to be held accountable before the Lord of the Worlds, and this is shared by men and women: thus, it made them equal in reward and punishment in the Hereafter:
“Indeed, the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and believing women, the obedient men and obedient women, the truthful men and truthful women, the patient men and patient women, the humble…” ( And the humble women, and the charitable men and charitable women, and the fasting men and fasting women, and the men who guard their private parts and the women who guard, and the men who remember Allah much and the women who remember - Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward.) Al-Ahzab 35

(Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely reward them according to the best of what they used to do.) An-Nahl 97

(Whoever does evil will not be recompensed except by the like thereof. And whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - those will enter Paradise and will be provided for therein without account.) Ghafir 40

(And whoever does righteous deeds, whether male or female, while he is a believer - those will enter Paradise and will not be wronged, [even] as much as the speck on a date seed.) An-Nisa 124

(Then their Lord responded to them, “Never will I allow to be lost the work of any worker among you, whether male or female. You are of one another.”) Al Imran 195

(Allah has promised the believing men and believing women gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally, and pleasant dwellings in Gardens of Eden. And approval from Allah is greater. That is what is the great attainment.) At-Tawbah 72

(That He may admit the believing men and believing women into Paradise. ) (Gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. And He will remove from them their misdeeds. And that is, in the sight of Allah, a great attainment.) Al-Fath 5

(On the Day you see the believing men and believing women, their light proceeding before them and on their right: “Good tidings to you this Day: Gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. That is what is the great attainment.”) Al-Hadid 12

62- Islam preserved the right of women by linking them to eternal happiness in this world. The Hereafter:
The Quran linked the two happinesses, and made the happiness of this world a means to the happiness of the Hereafter. (And whoever is blind in this [world] will be blind in the Hereafter and even more astray [in way]) Al-Israa 72.

And He made Paradise under her feet, and entering it depends on the mother’s satisfaction with her children, both men and women. And He made the punishment for disobeying parents hastened in this world before the Hereafter. And He made the mother one of the people most deserving of a man’s good companionship.

Islam did not diminish the rights of women, or humiliate them, but on the contrary, it raised their status. It is enough for us to know that Allah immortalized them in His Holy Book, and made three Surahs of the Holy Quran for them, which are Surah An-Nisa, Surah Maryam, and Surah At-Talaq, and there is no Surah named after men.

Rather, one of the beautiful things that Allah has done for women is that He has made men deal with the lower races of existence. He is either a farmer who deals with soil, livestock and animals, or a craftsman who deals with inanimate matter. However, women deal with the most honorable thing in existence, which is man. A woman who does not want to be convinced by this task is a failed woman.

Rather, the Qur’an immortalized a woman in Surat Al-Mujadilah, and Islam respected her opinion, and made her a debater and interlocutor for the Messenger, and brought her and him together in one speech (And Allah hears your dialogue) Al-Mujadilah: 1. And He decided on her opinion, and made it a general, eternal legislation. So Surat Al-Mujadilah was a trace of women’s thought, and an eternal divine page in which we glimpse throughout the ages the image of Islam’s respect for women’s opinions. Islam does not see women as just a flower that men enjoy smelling, but rather she is a rational, thinking creature who has an opinion, and an opinion has its value and weight.

The Prophet, peace be upon him, used to say about himself: (I am the son of Al-Awatik from Quraysh). The Awatik were women from the Quraysh, each of whom was called Aatika. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)

said: “Women are the halves of men,” meaning a part or a portion of them. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) also said: “Whoever strives to have three daughters will be in Paradise and will have the reward of those who strive while fasting and praying.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) also said: “The best of you is the best to his women, and I am the best of you to my women.” So that men would not be hard on their women, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said about them: “They were created from a crooked rib, if you try to straighten it, you will break it, so treat them well and enjoy them.” Asma’ bint Abi Bakr said: “I came to my mother while she was a polytheist during the time of the Quraysh, when they made a treaty with the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and extended their term with her father. She asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) about…”

She said to him: (O Messenger of Allah, my mother has come to me and she is desirous. Should I maintain ties with her? He said: (Yes, maintain ties with her).

A man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, who among the people is most deserving of my good companionship? He said: (Your mother). He said: Then who? He said: (Then your mother). He said: Then who? He said: (Then your mother). He said: Then who? He said: (Then your father). And he ( peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)

said: (If a woman prays her five prayers, fasts her month, guards her chastity, and obeys her husband, it will be said to her: Enter Paradise from whichever of the gates you wish.)

It is enough honor for Muslim women over men that the first to believe in the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was his wife, Lady Khadija, and the first martyr in Islam was Sumayyah, the mother of Ammar ibn Yasir, and the first to be entrusted with preserving the Book of Allah after its compilation was the Mother of the Believers, Hafsa bint Umar. And he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: (The most perfect of the believers in faith are those with the best character, and the best of you to their women in character) and he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said : (The best of you are the best of you

).

To his family, and I am the best of you to my family, none honors women except the honorable, and none humiliates them except the vile)

Compare this honoring of women with the words of the Holy Bible and the opinions of the fathers and philosophers of Christianity:

The Lord sends His angel to curse the woman and gag her mouth with a weight of lead: (And there was a woman sitting in the middle of the ephah. 8And he said, [This is the evil one]. So he threw her into the middle of the ephah and put the weight of lead on her mouth.) Zechariah 5:8

(25And a great multitude was going with him, and he turned and said to them, 26“If anyone comes to me and does not (14And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived

fell into transgression. 15But she will be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith and love and holiness with self-control.) 1 Timothy 2: 14-15

Thomas Aquinas says: (Woman is more vile than a slave, as evidenced by the fact that the slavery of the slave is not innate, while woman is innately commanded by the father, son, and husband).

Pope Innocent VIII declared in his bull (1484) that the human being and woman appear to be two stubborn opposites.

The philosopher Nietzsche said: (If a woman is elevated, she becomes a cow - and the heart of a woman is the source of evil, and she is a riddle that is difficult to solve, and a man is advised not to forget the whip if he goes to women).

Odo of Canaan wrote in the twelfth century: (Embracing a woman means embracing a bag of garbage).

Saint Tertullian said: (Woman is the entrance of Satan into the human soul, violating the laws of God, and distorting the man).
And with God’s help,
