Lot between the Holy Quran and the Book of Genesis
Most Muslims and Christians know that the people of Lot were a wicked and evil people and that God sent angels to Lot’s house to rescue him and his family from his people, except for his wife.
They also know the story of the quarrel that occurred between Lot and his people when the people attacked Lot’s house and ordered him to expel his male guests (angels). Lotsaid in the Qur’an:
“He said, ‘O my people, these are my daughters; they are purer for you. So fear God and do not disgrace me in seeing my guests . ’”
But in the Book of Genesis, he said:
“ Behold, I have two daughters who have not known a man. Let me bring them out to you, and you may do with them as you see fit. ”
What is the difference?
Lot in the Holy Quran:
{78} And his people came to him, rushing to him. Before that, they had been doing evil deeds. He said, “O my people, these are my daughters; they are purer for you. So fear Allah and do not disgrace me in my presence. Is there not among you a man of sound mind ?”
Ibn Kathir’s interpretation. And
his saying, “rushing to him,” means they hastened and ran out of joy at that. And his saying, “And before that, they had been doing evil deeds.” The evils: “That is, this remained part of their nature until they were seized while they were in that state.” And His statement, “He said, ‘O my people, these are my daughters; they are purer for you,’” is guiding them to their wives, for the Prophet is to the nation in the position of a father, so he guided them to what is most beneficial for them in this world and the Hereafter, as He said to them in the other verse, “Do you approach males from among the worlds?” And you abandon what your Lord has created for you of your wives. Rather, you are a transgressing people. And His statement in the other verse: “They said: Did we not forbid you from the worlds?” meaning: Did we not forbid you from hosting men? He said: “These are my daughters. If you are going to do so, by your life, they are in their intoxication, wandering blindly.” And He said in this noble verse: “These are my daughters; they are purer for you.” He said: Mujahed: They were not his daughters, but they were from his nation, and every prophet is the father of his nation. And it was also narrated on the authority of Qatada and more than one person. Ibn Jurayj said: He ordered them to marry women and did not offer them fornication. Saeed bin Jubayr said: He means their women, they are his daughters and he is a father to them. And it is said in some readings: “The Prophet is closer to the believers than they are to themselves, and his wives are their mothers,” and he is a father to them. And it was also narrated on the authority of Ar-Rabi’ bin Anas, Qatada, As-Suddi, and Muhammad bin Isaac and others. His saying, “So fear Allah and do not disgrace me in my regard to my guests,” meaning, accept what I command you to do, which is to limit yourself to your wives. “Is there not among you a man of sound mind?” meaning, one who has good in him and accepts what I command him to do and leaves what I forbid him from doing.
Tafsir al-Tabari
And His statement: {He said, “O my people, these are my daughters.”} God Almighty says: Lot said to his people when they came to seduce him about his guest: “O my people, these are my daughters” - meaning the women of his nation - so marry them, for “they are purer for you.” As: 14182 - Muhammad ibn Abd al-A’la narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Thawr narrated to us, on the authority of Ma’mar, on the authority of Qatadah: {These are my daughters, they are {Purer for you} He said: Lot ordered them to marry women, and he said: They are purer for you. 14183 - Muhammad told us: Muhammad bin Thawr told us, on the authority of Ma’mar, who said: This also reached me on the authority of Mujahid. - Ibn Wakee’ narrated to us, on the authority of Sufyan, on the authority of Layth, on the authority of Mujahid: {These are my daughters; they are purer for you} He said: They were not his daughters, but they were from his nation, and every prophet is the father of his nation. 14184 - Ibn Wakee’ narrated to us, he said: Ibn Ulayyah narrated to us, on the authority of Ibn Abi Najih, on the authority of Mujahid, regarding his statement: {These are my daughters; they are purer for you} He said: He ordered them to 14185 - Ya'qub narrated to me, he said: Abu Bishr narrated to us, I heard Ibn Abi Najih say about His statement: {They are purer for you}, he said: He did not offer them marriage or fornication. 14186 - Bishr narrated to us, he said: Yazid narrated to us, he said: Sa'id narrated to us, on the authority of Qatadah, about His statement: {These are my daughters; they are purer for you} He said: He ordered them to marry women, and the Prophet of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, wanted to protect his guests with his daughters. 14187 - Al-Muthanna narrated to me, he said: Ishaq narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Rahman ibn Mus`ad narrated to us, he said: Abu Ja`far informed us, on the authority of al-Rabi`, regarding his statement: {These are my daughters; they are purer for you} meaning marriage. * Abu Ja`far narrated to me, on the authority of al-Rabi` 14188 - Al-Muthanna narrated to me, he said: Abu Al-Nu’man Arim narrated to us, he said: Hammad bin Zaid narrated to us, he said: Muhammad bin Shabib Al-Zahrani narrated to us, on the authority of Abu Bishr, on the authority of Saeed bin Jubair, regarding Lot’s statement: {These are my daughters, they are purer for you} meaning: their women are his daughters, he is their prophet. And he said in some readings: "The prophet is closer to the believers than their own selves, their wives, and their mothers, and he is a father to them."
Lot in Genesis
19:1: And the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. And when Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and bowed himself with his face to the ground.
19:2: And he said, "My lords, turn aside, I pray you, to your servant's house, and spend the night, and wash your feet; and afterward you may rise early and go your way." But they said, "No, but we will spend the night in the square."
19:3: And he urged them greatly, and they turned aside to him and entered his house; and he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.
Gen 19:4 And before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, from the young to the old, all the people from one end of the city, surrounded the house.
Gen 19:5 And they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came in to you tonight? Bring them out to us, that we may know them.”
Gen 19:6: And Lot went out to the door to them, and shut the door after him
. Gen 19:7: And he said, "Do not do wickedly, my brothers.
Gen 19:8: Behold, I have two daughters who have not known a man. I will bring them out to you, and do to them as you see fit . But do nothing to these men, for they have come under the shadow of my roof. "

Verse 8:
"8 Behold, I have two daughters who have not known a man. I will bring them out to you, and do to them as you see fit. But do nothing to these men, for they have come under the shadow of my roof."
Interpretation:
Lot is trying to fix the situation, but in a corrupt way , or he said this to embarrass them. (End of the priest’s interpretation)
Commentary
: From here the difference becomes clear. In the Holy Quran, Lot calls upon his people to marry the daughters and women of his people because that is purer for them than relationships with men,
while in the Book of Genesis we find Lot offering his people to leave them his two daughters so that they can do with them whatever they like (in a corrupt manner), as the priest admitted.
This is the difference between the two books. Mostly, the story of Lot in the Torah is correct, but the writers of the Torah, after its loss, distorted the story and attributed to Lot that he had accepted
to offer his two daughters from his loins to these wicked people to commit fornication with them, while he was calling them to marry the women of his people in general.
The Book of Genesis attributed to Lot that he had committed fornication with his daughters, so why wouldn’t he leave them to his people?
There is no doubt that the Jew or Christian who reads that the prophets were in this state will find it easy to do anything.
