Psalm 2
1 Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing
? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, Against the Lord and against his anointed, Saying,
3 Let us break their bands asunder, And cast away their cords from us
! 4 He who dwells in heaven laughs; the Lord mocks them.
5 Then he will speak against them in his anger, And shake them in his fury
. 6 But I have set my king upon Zion, my holy mountain.
7 I will declare the decree of the Lord: He said to me, You are my Son, today I have begotten you.
8 Ask of me, and I will give you the nations for your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for your possession
. 9 You will break them with a rod of iron; you will break them in pieces like a potter's vessel
. 10 Now therefore, O kings, be wise. Behave, O judges of the earth
. 11 Worship the Lord with fear, and shout with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish from the way. Because for a little while his anger is kindled. Blessed are all who trust in Him
. כִּי-יִבְעַר כִּמְעַט אַפּוֹ: אַשְׁרֵי, כָּל-חוֹסֵי בוֹ. The word "bar" was translated to "son" although it does not mean that in Hebrew, and the Protestant translations were the only ones to translate it, not the Catholic (taken from the Septuagint) and the Masoretic text, which translated "bar" to "son". Even if we assume the validity of the Protestant translations, where is the Holy Spirit, the third person of the alleged divinity to complete the Trinity?! Psalm 2 only contains two persons (the Father and the Son)!!! So we have a duality of persons, not a trinity of persons! Is it reasonable that the Lord would announce his only eternal Son, born of the Father, at the time of David's Psalms?! Did the Lord forget to inform his people of an essential doctrine and a serious matter like this in the revelation?! Therefore, it is most logical that the psalm is talking about David and not Jesus! (Psalms 2:7) I declare of the decree of the Lord: He said to me , “ You are my Son , today I have begotten you.” Who declared of the decree of the Lord? The Prophet David. So who is the prophecy talking about: The Prophet David. And what about Jesus, the only begotten Son?! The Prophet David said: I declare of the decree of the Lord : He said to me , “ You are my Son , today I have begotten you. ” So the Lord told David that he was his son, and there is no comfort for Jesus and the churches and every prophecy and you are good. Also, according to the Torah, Jesus is not the only begotten son as the priests tell us! (Exodus 4:22) Then you shall say to Pharaoh, “Thus says the LORD: ‘Israel is my firstborn son . ’ (Jeremiah 31:9) They shall come with weeping, and I will lead them with supplications; I will lead them by rivers of water, in a straight way where they will not stumble. For I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.
Since we are Muslims, we consider the concept of (sonship to God) as heresy and blasphemy. God Almighty says in Surat Al-Ikhlas: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Say, “He is God, the One. God, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born . Nor is there to Him any equivalent.”
It is not befitting for God Almighty to have a son, and even if this biblical concept is symbolic and moral, we as Muslims reject this concept because it contradicts the Holy Quran.
Tafsir (explanation) Ibn-Katheer -
And the Jews and the Christians say, "We are the children of Allah and His beloved." Say, "Then why does He punish you for your sins?" Rather, you are human beings from among those He created. He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, and to Him is the final destination. (18) (Surat Al-Ma'idah)
Then Allah the Almighty said, responding to the Jews and Christians in their lies and slander: (And the Jews and the Christians say, “We are the sons of Allah and His beloved”) meaning: We are related to His prophets and they are His sons and He cares for them and He loves us. They transmitted from their book that Allah the Almighty said to His servant Israel: “You are My firstborn son.” So they interpreted this in a way other than its meaning and distorted it. More than one of their wise men who converted to Islam responded to them and said: This is used by them to mean honor and respect, just as the Christians transmitted from their book that Jesus said to them: I am going to my father and your father, meaning: My Lord and your Lord. It is known that they did not claim for themselves the same sonship that they claimed for Jesus, peace be upon him, but rather they meant by that their esteem and favor with Him, and for this reason they said: We are the sons of Allah and His beloved.
Allah the Almighty said in response to them: (Say: Then why does He punish you for your sins?) That is: If you were as you claim, His sons and beloved ones, then why did He not prepare for you the fire of Hell for your disbelief, lies and fabrications? One of the Sufi sheikhs said to one of the jurists: Where do you find in the Qur’an that the beloved does not punish his beloved? He did not respond to him, so the Sufi recited this verse: (Say: Then why does He punish you for your sins?)
This is what he said is good, and it has a corroborating evidence in the Musnad of Imam Ahmad where he said: Ibn Abi Uday told us on the authority of Humayd on the authority of Anas who said: The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, passed by with a group of his companions, and there was a child on the road. When his mother saw the people, she feared that her son would be trampled on, so she ran and said: My son, my son! She ran and caught him, so the people said: O Messenger of Allah, this woman would not throw her son into the fire. He said: The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, lowered them and said: No, by Allah, He would not throw his beloved into the fire. This is unique in its narration.
[And His saying] (Rather, you are human beings from among those He created) meaning: you have an example like your peers from among the children of Adam, and He, the Most High, is the judge over all of His servants. (He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills) meaning: He is the doer of whatever He wills, there is no questioning of His judgment, and He is swift in reckoning. (And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them) meaning: everything is His dominion and under His power and authority, (and to Him is the final destination) meaning: the return and the destination to Him, so He judges His servants as He wills, and He is the Just who does not act unjustly.
[And] Muhammad ibn Ishaq said on the authority of Muhammad ibn Abi Muhammad on the authority of Ikrimah or Sa`id ibn Jubayr on the authority of Ibn `Abbas, who said: Nu`man ibn Adaa, Bahri ibn `Amr, and Shas ibn `Adi came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and they spoke to him, and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, spoke to them and called them to Allah and warned them of His punishment, so they said: What do you fear, O Muhammad? By Allah, we are the sons and beloved of Allah, as the Christians say. So Allah revealed about them: (And the Jews and the Christians say, "We are the sons of Allah and His beloved ") to the end of the verse. Narrated by Ibn Abi Hatim and Ibn Jarir.
They also narrated on the authority of Asbat on the authority of Al-Suddi regarding the statement of Allah, the Most High: (And the Jews and the Christians say, "We are the sons of Allah and His beloved") As for their saying: (We are the sons of Allah and His beloved), they said: Allah revealed to Israel that your son - your firstborn son - will enter the Fire and they will be in it for forty nights until you purify them and consume their sins, then a caller will call out: Bring out every circumcised person from the children of Israel. So bring them out. That is what they said: (The Fire will not touch us except for a few days) [Al Imran: 24]
