Alcohol between Islam and Christianity.
Alcohol between Islam and Christianity.
Introduction:The Republic of South Africa, with its white minority, estimated at four million people, out of a total population of forty million people, has about three hundred thousand alcoholics, who are called (alcoholics).
Statistics show that the number of colored alcoholics in South Africa is five times the number of alcoholics of any other race.
The English missionary, Jimmy Swaggart, states in his book entitled (Alcohol): America has eleven million addicts, and forty-four million excessive drinkers.
Christian alcohol:
The evils of drinking alcohol are widespread throughout the world. The Holy Spirit has not expressed his opinion or announced his decision on this calamity and disaster through any church so far. The
Christian world overlooks drinking alcohol on the basis of three flimsy arguments. Based on the Holy Bible.
Wine in the Old Testament:
(Give strong drink to him that is perishing, and wine to him that is faint in spirit, that he may drink, and forget his poverty, and remember not his misery.) (Proverbs 6:31).
You will agree with me completely that this philosophy is successful for those who want to keep the subjugated nations in slavery.
Wine in the New Testament:
Wine drinkers say: Jesus was not a destroyer of pleasures. He turned water into wine in his first miracle ever, as recorded in the Bible.
(Jesus said, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them to the brim. Then he said to them, Draw out some, and take it to the master of the feast. And they brought it. And when the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, he did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn it knew). The master of the feast called the bridegroom, and said to him, Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse; but you have kept the good wine until now.) (John 7:2).
Since that miracle happened, wine has continued to flow like water in the Christian world.
Sober advice:
St. Paul, the thirteenth apostle of Christ, who appointed himself a disciple of Christ, and the true founder of Christianity, advises one of his newly converted subjects, named Timothy, saying: (No longer drink water, but use a little wine for the sake of your stomach and your frequent infirmities.) (Epistle of Paul to Timothy 5:23).
The position of Christianity and the interpreters of the Bible on wine:
Christians accept all the evidence of alcoholic and intoxicating drinks, which we mentioned earlier, as the infallible word of God. They believe that the Holy Spirit inspired the authors of the books of the New Testament to write such serious advice.
It seems that Father D'Mello has some doubts about Paul's message. He says: (It teaches us that it is right to consume intoxicants from wine. Thousands of Christians have learned to become addicted to alcohol after sipping what they call the blood of Christ while participating in church rituals).
Alcohol in Islam:
Islam is the only religion on earth that has completely forbidden alcohol. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: (Whatever intoxicates in large amounts, a small amount of it is forbidden).
There is no excuse in the religion of Islam for anyone who sips or takes a dose of any intoxicating drink.
The Holy Quran is the book of truth. It has forbidden in the strongest terms not only drinking alcohol and the evils it brings.
Rather, He also forbade gambling,
idol worship, divination, and divination. That is, He forbade alcohol, idol worship, statues, fortune telling, and fortune telling in one verse.
Alcohol in the Quran:
(O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, idol worship, and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful.)
The Muslims’ position on alcohol:
When this verse was revealed, the Muslims emptied their alcohol vessels in the streets of Medina, and they never returned to drinking it again.
This clear and simple directive made the Islamic nation the largest group of completely abstainers from drinking alcohol in the world.
In the hands of the message:
(Wine paralyzes the senses and makes a person stagger and vomit, and extinguishes the weak glimmer of the ability to argue and persuade with argument and logic, which flares up and then fades in hesitation inside our minds, and soon wine overcomes the strongest of men and turns him into a raging, violent, rebellious person, controlled by his bestial nature, red-faced, eyes bloodshot, roaring, swearing and threatening those around him and cursing imaginary enemies, and there is no such shameful behavior among any kind of animal, not among pigs, jackals or donkeys. The ugliest thing in existence is the drunkard, he is a repulsive creature, the sight of which makes a person ashamed to belong to the same kind of living being). From the sayings of the French doctor (Charles Richet), winner of the Nobel Prize in Physiology.
There are many destructive forces that violate and destroy nations, and one of the most malicious and dangerous of these forces is in wine.
Blacks in South Africa spend a billion rands a year on alcohol. Blacks spend an astonishing amount of money a year on alcohol. This astonishing amount is squandered by poor black people on alcohol alone. Alcohol costs South Africa five hundred million rands a year in accidents, broken families and lost lives. Most road accidents are caused by people under the influence of alcohol. A car driven by a drunk driver turns into a coffin.
Alcohol has no nutritional value. It contains no minerals or proteins. Ninety percent of it goes into the bloodstream. Therefore, it does not need to be digested and has no beneficial effects on the body. Alcohol is a major factor in the causes of heart, liver, stomach and pancreas diseases. Alcohol also causes depression and causes the most devastating changes in the brain.
Seventy percent of divorces and broken families are caused by alcohol.
Unfortunately, most people believe that drinking alcohol brings them closer to society and integrates them into it. They want to belong to society. They want to be considered modern and progressive.
They do not have the courage and will to stand up to the pressure and attacks they face. They cannot loudly and clearly reject this poison.
The winemakers feel no qualms. They do not care if the nation sinks as long as they make their profits. They declare openly: "We do not feel guilty." In order to make wine available to the public, they sponsor and finance sports and celebrations, in order to catch the youth.
Alcoholism is a bad habit that can be started with one drink, like the one Christians drink in their religious celebrations, and once it starts, you become an alcoholic for life, unless God wills.
Children born to women who drink alcohol are usually mentally retarded, have reproductive defects, holes in the heart, and are smaller and lighter than normal children. Alcohol is a disease.
Who benefits?
If the money wasted was spent on protecting the weak, helping the poor, healing the sick, aiding widows and orphans, creating employment opportunities, reducing misery and bringing happiness, perhaps this waste could be defended.
Unlike all the religions and sects of man in the world, Islam stands out for its firm and honorable stand against drinking alcohol.
Islam declared a total war against alcohol fourteen hundred years ago.
There is no room for compromise with evil, and there is no doubt that alcohol, which the Bible recommends drinking, is evil. Alcohol is a formidable enemy lurking around us that we must destroy.
As Muslims, we are not allowed to ignore the condemnation of drinking alcohol out of courtesy or friendship. The Quran says: “O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing on] stone altars [to other than God], and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful. Satan only wants to cause between you animosity and hatred through intoxicants and gambling and to avert you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. So will you not desist?”
The greatest reformer and hero who restored human dignity, the liberator of humanity, the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
1- Every drink that intoxicates is forbidden. Whatever intoxicates in large quantities, a small amount is forbidden.
2- Every intoxicant is forbidden.
3- Alcohol is not a medicine, but a disease.
4- Any person who drinks an intoxicant, forty prayers will not be accepted from him. If he repents to Allah by His grace and mercy, Allah will forgive his sin.
5- Ten people are cursed for drinking alcohol: the one who squeezes it, the one who has it squeezed, the one who drinks it, the one who brings it, the one who carries it, the one to whom it is carried, the one who sells it, the one who drinks it, the one who gives it as a gift,
and the one who consumes its price . The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) spoke the truth.
Islam shows the way: Every nation longs to be free, respected, and honorable, and to live in peace and dignity. These goals cannot be achieved in a nation whose individuals regularly assault their bodies by drinking alcohol and taking drugs . For a nation to be truly free, respected, and honorable, it must be composed of individuals who have a belief and a goal. Individuals who are fully prepared to commit to this belief and that goal. These goals can only be achieved if minds and bodies are kept pure and clean. Islam has a unique belief that reveals the way for all those who long for honor and freedom. In order to maintain bodily purity, Allah has completely forbidden alcohol, drugs, pork, and dead animals, etc. To maintain the purity of the mind, Allah commanded faith and complete obedience to Him, submission to Him, and belief that Allah is One and Unique and that there is nothing like Him. He is the Creator of all things, the Provider, the Giver of Life and Death, and the Preserver. And belief that humanity is one nation, equal in every respect, and there is no difference between people except in piety. Allah Almighty said: (The best of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you). It is also necessary to raise a sound moral personality with honesty, trustworthiness, sincerity, and justice. And to hold oneself accountable daily, by asking oneself what you did today and counting the good and bad deeds during that day. To avoid bad deeds and continue with good deeds. Following the correct Islamic approach will liberate man and society from injustice and oppression. Islam truly guides the way to freedom.
