Examples from history on the spread of Christianity by the sword of the Romans and Byzantines

 

Most Christians today claim that their religion is a religion of love and that Christianity does not force anyone to enter it and that people entered it through belief in it, etc., but how easy it is to claim and how difficult it is to prove!! History tells us the exact opposite of what they say. God willing, we will present two examples of Roman emperors to prove how Christianity spread by force in the Roman state and how its swords were stained with the blood of those who were killed under the name of spreading the religion of "love." Our talk here will be brief and based on Christian and non-Islamic sources so that it cannot be said that we are obligating them with our books.

The first example: "Saint" Constantine and his crimes against the Jews of Jerusalem and his spreading Christianity by force and coercion among Jewish and pagan circles .

Before I quote to you what makes your hair stand on end, I would like to point out to the reader that what Constantine did to the Jews was an act that almost no one in the world had ever done before. At the instigation of his priests, he did not stop at the Jews uttering the word of blasphemy - Judaism - but he went further than that to tear hearts and search chests by forcing every Jew who converted to Christianity to eat pork, and whoever did not eat it was to be killed immediately!!!!!

We read from the history of Saeed bin Al-Batrik called the history collected on investigation and verification, part one, page 133-134:
( (And King Constantine ordered that no Jew should live in Jerusalem or enter it, and that anyone who did not convert to Christianity should be killed. So many of the nations and Jews converted to Christianity, and the religion of Christianity appeared. So it was said to King Constantine that the Jews converted to Christianity out of fear of being killed, and they are still in their religion. So the king said: How do we know that? So Paul, the Patriarch of Constantinople, said to him: The pig is forbidden in the Torah, and the Jews do not eat it. So he ordered that the pigs be slaughtered, their meat cooked, and they feed this group from it. Whoever does not eat from it, you know that he is still a follower of the Jewish religion. So King Constantine said: If the pig is forbidden in the Torah, then how is it permissible for us to eat its meat and feed it to people? So Paul, the Patriarch, said to him: Our Lord Christ has abolished everything in the Torah and came with a new Torah, which is the Gospel. And he said in his holy Gospel (that everything that enters the mouth does not defile a person, but “Everything that comes out of a person’s mouth is unclean.” ..... With this view and what our Lord Christ said in his holy Gospel, Peter and Paul ordered us to eat the flesh of every quadruped, for pigs and all other animals are lawful for us. So the king ordered that the pigs be slaughtered, their meat cooked, cut into small pieces, and placed at the doors of the churches throughout his kingdom on Easter Sunday. And everyone who left the church was to be given a morsel of pig meat, and whoever did not eat it was to be killed. So many people were killed in that. ”





And we read from the book “Church and State” by Father Matta Maskeen, pages 29-30:
(( But unfortunately, the church stumbled into this very same stumble, so when things became difficult for it, it resorted to kings to strengthen its authority, .... and often it humbled itself at the feet of kings when its opponents became strong, so it flattered the governors to remove its opponents, but to the extent that it was rid of its enemies by the power of the sword, to the extent that the sword had power over it.....
The beginning of the church's stumbling blocks was during the days of its protection under King Constantine in the fourth century, who assumed the protection of faith with the sword, as the first rule of Israel, instead of love, prayer, and the covenant of Christ! After him came King Theodosius, who ordered the demolition of the pagan temples by military force, as in the days of the kings of Israel in ancient times, instead of the joyful good news of Christ and the persuasion of the word of the Gospel.
It was as if the church (in Byzantium in the fourth century) was found in King Constantine and after him ((Who will restore the kingdom to Israel)), which was the first wish of the disciples and the dreams of fears. Is this not King Constantine, the first to lead a crusade in the world, raising the cross on the banner of enmity, making the slogan of life the same as the slogan of death and destruction? Because the vision was mixed up for him, he thought that the cross he saw in the vision and the word he heard, “By this you will overcome,” meant that he would fight people and plunder kingdoms in the name of the cross, instead of understanding it and the church understanding him with him: that he would overcome the power of Satan and the false greatness of the world with the victory of salvation and true glory like Christ! And as the cross deserves! But unfortunately, church history has not yet realized that even if it was not a disgrace for King Constantine to fight his enemies, it was a disgrace and a complete disgrace for him to fight his enemies in the name of the cross ))








Before moving on to the second model, I offer a simple gift to the Christian reader and the rest of the Christians who object day and night to the application of the punishment for apostasy in Islam:
Constantine legislates death by burning as a punishment for every Christian who converts to Judaism !!!

((Another enactment in 339 by Constantius was clearer and more specific than the earlier and brief Constantinian law prohibiting the reconversion, of Christianized Jews:89We wish to make clear to the Jewish elders and patriarchs that if, after the enactment of this law, anyone attempts by stoning or other type of madness (which we know is being done at this time), to reconvert a person who has given up the baleful sect of Judaism and has joined the cult of God, forthwith he and his accomplices are to be given to the flames and burned. Moreover if anyone of the people has joined their evil sect and frequented their meeting places, he shall suffer his deserved penalty with them ))

The second model : Tsar Hercules "The Persian conqueror, the Christian hero who recovered the Holy Cross from their hands" gives security to the Jews, then breaks his covenant at the instigation of the Christian priests, and by this breach he kills many people, women and children!
We read from the history of Saeed bin Al-Batrik also, part two, pages 5-6:
(( Then Heraclius began to want Jerusalem, and when he reached Tiberias, the Jews living in Tiberias, Mount Galilee, Nazareth, and every village in that area came out to him and welcomed Heraclius with gifts and prayed for him and asked him to grant them security, so he granted them security and wrote them a covenant to that effect. When Heraclius reached Jerusalem, the monks of Siq and the people of Jerusalem welcomed him, and with them Modestus with censers and incense.
When he entered the city and saw what the Persians had destroyed and burned, he was very sad. Then he looked at what Modestus had built of the Church of the Resurrection, the Acarnion, and the Church of Saint Constantine. This made him happy and he thanked Modestus for what he had done. The monks and the people of Jerusalem said to Heraclius: The Jews who were around Jerusalem and Mount Galilee when the Persians came were with them, helping them, and they were the ones who killed the Christians more than the Persians. They destroyed the churches and burned them with fire. They showed him the dead who were in Mamla and informed him of what the Jews had done in Tyre, killing the Christians and destroying the churches. Heraclius said to them: What do you want? They said: Do what pleases us and kill every Jew around Jerusalem and Mount Galilee, because we do not trust that people who oppose us will come to us and that these people will also help them against us, just as they helped the Persians against us. Heraclius said to them: How can I make it permissible to kill them, when I have given them security and written them a covenant, and you know what is required of those who break a covenant? And when I break a covenant and an oath, that will be a disgrace to me and an ugly story about me? And I do not trust that I wrote a covenant to a non-Jew and he would accept it from me, and if I do not fulfill it, I will be a liar, a traitor, and not trustworthy in the eyes of all people, in addition to the great sin and guilt that I will be guilty of in the eyes of our Lord Christ for killing people whom I have given security to and written them a covenant for. They said to him: Our Lord Jesus Christ knows that your killing them is forgiveness for your sins and an expiation for your transgressions, and people will excuse you because at the time you gave them security you did not know or understand what they did of killing Christians and destroying churches, but they came out to you and welcomed you with gifts as a deception and a curse for what they had committed, so your killing them is a sacrifice you offer to God, and we bear this sin on your behalf and atone for it on your behalf, and we ask our Lord Jesus Christ not to hold you accountable for it, and we will make for you the Friday of Eggs and Cheese before the Great Lent a pure fast as part of the Great Lent, we will fast it for you and we will leave eating eggs and cheese as long as Christianity remains... So Heraclius agreed to that and killed an uncountable number of Jews around Jerusalem and Mount Galilee, as many as he could, and some of them disappeared and some of them fled to the wilderness, valleys, mountains and to Egypt. And they made the first Friday of the fast, in which they leave the kingship and eat meat only, a pure fast. And they used to fast it for King Heraclius in forgiveness for breaking the covenant and killing the Jews, and they abstained from eating eggs, cheese, and fish during it .)





And we read from the book The Arab Conquest Of Egypt And The Last Thirty Years Of The Roman Dominion by Butler, Alfred J., page 134:
((Heraclius however was much to depart from his plighted word. He was reminded that he had given the pledge in ignorance of the facts: that he was not bid by a promise cozened out of him by fraud: that had he known how the Jews smote the Christians with fire and sword, he must have dealt very sternly with them and so forth sanctioned the full measure of vengeance which the Christians demanded and something like a general massacre followed. But in order to sooth the emperor's own conscience, the patriarch and bishops sent letters to every city ordering the institution of a week's fast for ever.The institution still remains and to this day the first week of Lent with the Copts is called "The Fast of Heraclius". It may be taken that the Copts joined in the massacre, having their own scores to settle with the jews from the time of the Persian capture of Alexandria. ))

So look how he made a covenant with them and then broke it, and in order to justify this break, their monks and priests added new laws related to fasting, so they added what is known as the week of preparation before the Great Lent in order to bear the sin of Heraclius's breaking of the covenant to push him to kill and slaughter the Jews of Jerusalem, Galilee, Nazareth and Tiberias!!!!
And I remember the words of God Almighty: ((They have taken their rabbis and their monks as lords besides God, and the Messiah, the son of Mary. And they were not commanded except to worship one God. There is no god but He. Glory be to Him above what they associate with Him (31)))
By God, their fasting does not benefit them or Heraclius in the least, nor do they bear his sins in the least. Rather, they are like scattered dust. God
Almighty has said: (( And those who disbelieved said to those who believed, “Follow our way, and we will bear your sins.” And they will not bear any of their sins. Indeed, they are liars (12)) .

And I conclude with what Heraclius did when he saw that famous vision in his dream that a circumcised people would steal his kingdom, whereupon he ordered that all Jews be forced to embrace Christianity!
We read from the book A Psychoanalytic History of the Jews, page 353-354:
(( Hiraclius's astrologers are said to have told him that his kingdom would fall to a nation of circumcised people. Thinking they meant the jews, Heraclius sought to convert all Byzantine Jews into Christians and talked his friend Dagobert (605- 639), the Merovingian king of the Franks (612-639) into doing likewise in the Frankish Kingdoms of Austrasia, Neustria and Aquitania ))
