The confusion of the so-called Holy Book continues...

One text - Deuteronomy 2:33 - speaks of two geographically distant places: Jerusalem and Kadesh .

A Christian objector might say: But Kadesh is the same as Jerusalem . What difference are you talking about???

Read in your book, O Christian :

The text of Deuteronomy 2:33, translated by Smith and VanDyke, says: The ten thousands of Jerusalem

But what about Kadesh ??? Where is it located??? Is Kadesh the same as Jerusalem ??? The myriads of Jerusalem are the myriads of Kadesh??!!!

To be fair and so that our Christian colleagues do not accuse us of fraud, we will provide here a definition of all the places known to Christians as Kadesh . The myriads of Jerusalem are the myriads of Kadesh??!!!

Kadesh as defined by one of the Christian websites :

quote:
Qadesh ": קדשׁ qa ̂ de ̂ sh, kaw-dashe' , mentioned 17 times in the books of Moses and the Prophets. It is a Hebrew name meaning "holy," and it is a name given to several places in Palestine, indicating that the place once had a type of temple or sanctuary.

Qadesh Barnea : .....By comparing different verses of the written divine revelation, we can determine the location of Qadesh approximately. It was at the edge of the wilderness of Zin (Numbers 20:1) on the western side of the Arabah Valley, near the southern border of the land of the tribe of Judah or the southern border of the children of Israel (Numbers 34:4). It is an eleven-day journey from Horeb (Mount Sinai), as fast as the children of Israel traveled in those days, and in the direction of Mount Seir and on its way. It was not far from the border of Edom and Mount Hor. From there Moses sent messengers to the king of Edom to ask permission to cross his land into the country of Moab (Numbers 20:14-21). It is likely that it is Ein Kadis, fifty miles south of Beersheba. Near Ein Kadis is Ein Qederath, which is larger and some think it is Kadesh. Kadesh Naphtali : The description of the above-mentioned "Kadesh" as "Kadesh Naphtali" indicates that there was another "Kadesh" that was also important. The most important of these is Kadesh in Galilee. A Canaanite or Tyrian city. We find it in the list of kings defeated by Joshua and the children of Israel as "the king of Kadesh" (Joshua 12:22). Since this name appears immediately after Taanach and Megiddo, it must refer to a city in the region of these two cities. The conclusive evidence for this is that in the list of cities given to the Gershonites of the Levites, not only "Kade Naphtali" is mentioned (1 Chronicles 6:76), but before it "Kadesh" of the tribe of Issachar is mentioned (1 Chronicles 6:72). Kadesh in Issachar : The city of Issachar was given to the Levites of the Gershon clan, and it is a priestly city for the sons of Gershom (1 Chronicles 6:57, 72; Judges 4:11). It is also called Kishion in the Book of Joshua (Joshua 21:28). It may be today: Tell Abu Qadis, which is 4 km to the southwest of Lejjun, and 2 and a half miles south of Tel al-Mutasallim (Megiddo). Kadesh in Judah (Joshua 15:23). In the names of the cities that fell to the portion of Judah, the name "Kadesh" appears, and since this city is not mentioned anywhere else in the written divine revelation, it is either an unknown city, or as some believe that it is "Kadesh Yarneh" adjacent to the southern border of Judah. A place whose exact location we do not know. Kadesh on the Orontes River : It was located south of Lake Homs, and the famous battle between Ramses II and the Hittites took place there in 1288 BC. It is currently the city of "Nabi Mend" about one mile south of Hamath, and about fifty miles north of Damascus. This city is not mentioned in the Bible, but it is mentioned in the list of cities conquered by Thutmose III in the Tell el-Amarna letters. Some think that it is "Hadashi" (2 Sam. 24:6), which was the northernmost city of the kingdom of David. However, some scholars doubt this because "Kadesh on the Orontes" is much further north than that.
