the origins of the story of Satan’s prostration to Adam in Christianity

 The Triple Destruction Post

Destruction of the Myth of the Infallibility of the Bible!!
Destruction of the Infallibility of the Apostles of Christ and their Speaking by the Inspiration of the Holy Spirit!!
Destruction of the Dictatorship of Limiting the Canonical Books to 66 or 73 Books and Leaving Hundreds of Books and Epistles and Labeling them as Non-Canonical or Apocrypha!!!!!

Today we have an appointment with four texts by four of the Apostles of Christ, the four of them quote texts and stories from non-canonical books, and from the style and wording it appears that they are talking about well-known matters that were widely known in their time as if they themselves and their audience acknowledge and believe in those stories, and it does not appear at all from their wording that they are teaching their audience and telling them - by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit!!! - something new that they have not heard before!!!

The story is known to Muslims, young and old, because it is mentioned very clearly in the Holy Quran. It is the story of Satan’s expulsion from God’s mercy because of his arrogance and refusal to prostrate to Adam. But when you ask any Christian about the story of Satan’s fall and why he was expelled from God’s mercy and became a devil, you will not find that he has a sufficient answer to this serious question!!!

To avoid prolongation, we will discuss each text in a separate post so that we can cover all its aspects and respond to the interpretations of the Church Fathers for each text....

The first text of the anonymous letter is the letter to the Hebrews, and of course from its name it is sent to the Jews who know the story well, and even if the story is not found in the Old Testament, the Jews believe in the Talmud, which is their transmitted oral heritage, and assuming that the writer of the letter is Paul - as most Christians believe - then Paul, as he said about himself, is a Jew, the son of a Jew, and a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee, and all his letters testify to that, he filled them all with citations from the Old Testament and the Jewish heritage, while putting his own mark by projecting every small and large part of it onto Christ and trying to make the entire Old Testament speak about Christ and nothing else, although the truth is completely different from that!!!

The text we have in our hands today is where the writer of Hebrews says
in the first chapter:
(6) And also when he brought the firstborn into the world, he says: “And let all the angels of God worship him”

like this and between quotation marks, meaning that the writer quoted this sentence from a book or a story that is well-known among the Jews!!!

Of course, the church fathers and Christian scholars turned the world upside down to know where Paul got this text from the Old Testament, but all their attempts failed miserably, so they turned to interpretations and other texts that have no connection to this text, and confusion still grips them to this day!!

Now, who is this firstborn that Paul is talking about? Of course, Paul, in his own way, wants to apply this well-known text to the person of Christ, but where is the evidence? Where do we find in the New Testament that God commanded the angels to worship Christ? Rather, where do we find in the Gospels that Christ is the firstborn of creation or even the firstborn of humanity? We only find that he is the firstborn of Mary in Matthew 1:25 and Luke 2:7. So, the firstborn in reference to whom the quoted text came is the firstborn of humanity, Adam, the father of mankind, without a doubt!!

Okay, you say that the story does not exist in the Old Testament, so how can you be certain that this text was said about Adam and no one else?

And here was the surprise from two books from the Old Testament Apocrypha.
The first: The Book of Adam, and the second: The Books of Adam and Eve, and the two books include the story and God's command to the angels to prostrate to Adam!!
This is the text of the story from the first book, and God willing, in the second part of the post I will put the text of the story from the second book, and I will put the links to the two books at the end of the post.

13.2 The very day when you were created, on that day, I fell from before the face of God, because when God breathed a spirit onto your face, you had the image and likeness of the divinity. And then Michael came; he presented you and made you bend down before God. And God told Michael, "I have created Adam according to (my) image and my divinity."
14.1 Then Michael came; he summoned all the troops of angels and told them, "Bow down before the likeness and the image of the divinity."
14.2 And then, when Michael summoned them and all had bowed down to you, he summoned me also.
14.3 And I told him, "Go away from me, for I shall not bow down to him who is younger than me; indeed, I am master prior to him and it is proper for him to bow down to me.
15.1 The six classes of other angels heard that and my speech pleased them and they did not bow down to you.
16.1 Then God became angry with us and commanded us, them and me, to be cast down from

our dwellings to the earth. As for you, he commanded you to dwell in paradise

. In the text (And let all the angels of God bow down to him) and about our second question, why was Satan expelled from the mercy of God and what is the secret of his enmity towards the children of Adam?

And now with another of Christ’s apostles doing the same thing and speaking about it to his listeners as if it were something obvious and known to everyone, but unfortunately this known matter turned into the strangest and most problematic issue after the copyists and translators transferred the words of Christ’s apostles to the Greeks and others whom Christ himself forbade his disciples from calling or going to as in Matthew 10
(5) These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying, “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and into a city To the Samaritans, do not enter.
(6) But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

The text of Jude that we have with us today is spoken by those around him from the Israelite Christians, saying (Jude 1)
(9) But Michael the archangel, when he contended with the devil, disputing about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous sentence, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”

Of course, in this text, Jude speaks spontaneously to those around him who know the story in principle, and Jude wants to draw their attention to a benefit and lesson learned from a certain situation in this story. However, because the transmitter of the message to the Greeks, or its copyist or translator, does not know the basis of the story because he is not Israelite, he made a grave mistake that made this verse the most difficult, complex and problematic verse in the New Testament, approximately!!
This ignorant international copyist replaced the word Adam with the word Moses, which does not exist at all in canonical or non-canonical books, Talmud or Haggadah, so he put all the interpreters, analysts and commentators who came after him in a predicament and embarrassment from which there is no escape!!

The dispute between Michael and Satan was over the body of Adam, O copyist of the message of Jude, Adam and not Moses, this is what the Israelites know and this is what we find in the Apocrypha and in the Talmud of the Jews!!!

As I promised you in the first part, I will transfer the story this time from the second book, which is the books of Adam and Eve,
and here is the text of the story:
When God blew into thee the breath of life and my face and likeness was made in the image of God, Michael also brought thee and made (us) worship thee in the sight of God; And God the Lord spoke: Here is Adam. I have made them in our image and likeness.'
xiv 1 And Michael went out and called all the angels saying:
'Worship the image of God as the Lord God hath commanded.'
And Michael himself worshiped first; then he called me and said: 'Worship the image of God
3 the Lord.' And I answered, 'I have no (need) to worship Adam.' And since Michael kept urging me to worship, I said to him, 'Why dost thou urge me? I will not worship an inferior and younger being (than I). I am his senior in the Creation, before he was made I was already made. It is his duty to worship me.'
xv 1,2 When the angels, who were under me, heard this, they refused to worship him. And Michael Saith, 'Worship the image of God, but if you wilt not worship him, the Lord God will be wrath
3 with them.' And I said, 'If He be wrath with me, I will set my seat above the stars of heaven and will be like the Highest.'
xvi 1 And God the Lord was wrath with me and banished me and my angels from our glory; and on
2 thy account we were expelled from our abode into this world and hurled on the earth.
In short,
here Satan tells Adam the reason for his enmity towards him, saying: When God created you and breathed into you the breath of life, He made you in His image, and Michael ordered the angels to worship (prostrate) the image of God after he himself prostrated, but Satan said to him: I have no need to worship Adam, and Michael continues to insist on him, so he said to him: Why do you insist on me? I will not worship someone who is lesser and smaller than me, I am better than him in creation, before I was created I existed, he should rather worship me, and the angels who were under the leadership of Satan also refused to worship him after hearing his words, and here Michael said to him ((and this is the important point)) if you do not worship the image of God, God will be angry with you!!!

Of course, we find Christian commentators tried with all their might to find a way out of this puzzle in various ways. Some of them invented stories that do not exist, such as those who claimed that Satan wanted to show the body of Moses so that the children of Israel would worship him, but Michael hid his body. Although this story does not exist anywhere, its author made the bodies of the prophets a toy for the devils to manipulate them after their death. Why did the Israelites not worship Aaron, Joseph, or Jacob before him?

Some other commentators claimed that Judah took this story from a hidden book (Apocrypha) called The Ascension of Moses or The Testament of Moses!!!
Although the currently available manuscript of this book is incomplete, the writings of the ancients spoke of an attempt by Satan to take the soul of Moses while he was alive, but God took him away, and there is no mention of this discussion between Satan and Michael!!!

I know that it is not easy for a Christian to admit that his book has been distorted easily, but with the increasing evidence, he must admit it and not be stubborn. Dr. Professor Bart Ehrman says: In our book, the New Testament, there are more errors and contradictions than there are words in it!!!
How can he say this when he has five doctorates in theology, patrology, textual criticism, ancient Greek, and the Fathers
