The Pagan Origins of Christianity: The May Tree Celebration

The celebration of the May Tree or Maibaum is a pagan tradition followed by some Western Christians (Christians of Austria and the German region of Bavaria). This tradition was known to the pagan Celts, who called it the Fire Festival, and also to the Romans, who considered it an occasion to sanctify life, fertility and a new beginning. The celebration of Maibaum is a pagan tradition that has been recycled and beautified to take on a Christian religious character! The May Tree tradition appeared in the tenth century AD. The celebration begins by knocking on a column in the middle of a square, decorated with sausages, sweets and colored ribbons. After that, the inhabitants gather around it and begin dancing. Their ancestors in the Middle Ages believed that celebrating in this way brings luck and .... wealth!!!! Some pictures of this pagan tradition: Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds

2 Thus says the LORD: “Do not learn the way of the Gentiles, and do not be dismayed by the signs of the heavens, for the Gentiles will be dismayed by them.
3 For the statutes of the Gentiles are worthless, for they are a tree cut down out of the forest , the work of a carpenter’s hands with an axe.
They adorn them with silver and gold, and fasten them with nails and hammers, so that they will not move.
She is like a cursed creature in a ditch, so she cannot speak. She is grievously carried, because she cannot walk. Do not be afraid of her, for she cannot harm, nor can she do any good .”

Jeremiah 10
