The worship of Mary is documented by Christian sources.
In refutation of the words of Allah, the Almighty, in Surat Al-Ma’idah:
And when Allah said, “O Jesus, son of Mary, did you say to the people, ‘Take me and my mother as gods besides Allah?’ He said, ‘Glory be to You! It is not for me to say that which I have no right to. If I had said it, You knew it. You know what is in my soul, and I do not know what is in Your soul. But when You took me up, You were the Observer over them, and You are Witness over all things. (117) If You should punish them - indeed, they are Your servants; and if You forgive them - indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise. (118)
You will find the Christians saying, “We do not worship Mary, and we have not taken her as a wife.” Gods besides God, so where did the Quran get that from???
