birth of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace
One of the good tidings of the prophethood of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was that when his mother became pregnant with him, she saw in her dream that a light came out of her that reached Ash-Sham . It was narrated on the authority of Khalid ibn Ma’dan on the authority of the companions of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) that they said : O Messenger of Allaah, tell us about yourself. He said: (The supplication of my father, Ibrahim, and the good news of ‘Isa, and my mother saw when she became pregnant with me as if a light came out of her that illuminated the palaces of Busra in the land of Ash-Sham . ) Narrated by Ibn Ishaq with his chain of narration (1/166 Seerat Ibn Hisham) . It was also narrated via his chain of narration by At-Tabari in his Tafseer (1/566 ) and by Al-Hakim in his Mustadrak (2/600). He said: Its chain of narration is saheeh, although they did not narrate it. Adh-Dhahabi agreed with him. See As-Silsilah As-Saheehah (1545 ). Al-Tabarani narrated that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said : “ My mother saw in her dream that a lamp came out from between her legs, which illuminated the palaces of Ash-Sham . ” Classed as hasan by Al-Albani in Sahih Al-Jami’ (224 ). Ahmad narrated (16700 ) on the authority of Al-Arbadh ibn Sariyah, may God be pleased with him, that the Messenger of God , may God bless him and grant him peace, said : “… and he mentioned the hadith in which it says: The mother of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saw when she gave birth to him a light from which the palaces of Ash -Sham were illuminated . ” Al-Haythami said in Majma’ Al-Zawa’id: Its chain of transmission is hasan. Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar said in Al-Fath : When she gave birth, a light came out of her that illuminated the house and the home. And its witness is the hadith of Al-Irbadh bin Sariyah, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say : “ I am the servant of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets, and Adam was still kneading in his clay. I will tell you about that: I am the supplication of my father Abraham, and the glad tidings of Jesus about me, and the vision that my mother saw, and so do the mothers of the prophets see, and the mother of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, And she saw, when she gave birth to him, a light that illuminated the palaces of Ash-Sham . Narrated by Ahmad and authenticated by Ibn Hibban and Al-Hakim. In the hadith of Abu Umamah, according to Ahmad, there is something similar to it . It must be known that the evidence of the prophethood of our Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, is not limited to this verse. Whether it is proven or not, his prophethood, may God bless him and grant him peace, is proven by definitive evidence that no fair-minded person can deny. Rather, those who deny it deny it either out of ignorance or stubbornness
If you review the hadiths, you will see that they came once in the sense of a dream vision and once in the sense of a real vision, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “My mother saw when she gave birth to me that a light came out of her that illuminated the palaces of Ash-Sham.” So seeing the light at his birth is confirmed and there is no doubt about it. And we said that this is one of the signs of prophethood to demonstrate the great virtue and honor of this newborn, like the incident of seeking rain with him while he was a young child. All of these matters were said by our Hanbali Scholar Ibn Taymiyyah to be signs of prophethood so that the people of the Sacred Sanctuary would grow up to respect and love this boy in preparation for his call. And God is All-Knowing and All-Wise.
