Responding to the suspicion of Pharaoh's drowning and death
the writer of this doubt claims that the Qur’an told the story of Pharaoh and Moses in two contradictory ways.
The first: Pharaoh was saved from drowning and believed and became a Muslim.
He mentioned that, according to his claim, with a verse from Surat Yunus: “
And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued them in oppression and enmity until, when drowning overtook him, he said, ‘I believe that there is no god except that in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of the Muslims.’”
(Surat Yunus / 90-92).
However, the writer deceived in writing the verses, and we will see later why he did that. This verse is number 90
So it is one verse and not three verses from 90-92 as he said,
but we will see later where are these two verses whose numbers he mentioned and intentionally did not write because they completely destroy his claim.
The second: Pharaoh drowns his soldiers.
And he brought verses from three places to prove that.
1- I will start with the two verses from Surat Yunus that the writer intentionally did not write in the place in Surat Yunus that he cited to prove his first claim because they prove his inability and stand as an obstacle to his weak understanding.
Now, and you disobeyed before and were among the corrupters. So today We will save you with your body that you may be a sign to those who come after you. (Surat Yunus 10: 89-92)
But he also deceived in writing the numbers of the verses to cover up his deception in transferring the verses and cutting up the texts of the verses. To mislead the reader with his claim,
the two verses are 91-92 and not 89-92.
2- Indeed, I think, O Pharaoh, that you are doomed. So he intended to expel them from the land, so We drowned him and all those with him. (Surat Al-Isra’ 17: 102-103)
3- So We seized him and his soldiers and threw them into the sea. So see what was the end of the wrongdoers. (Surat Al-Qasas 28: 40).
This was an explanation of the deception that the writer used in transmitting the verses. The following is a criticism of his evidence from the verses:
Evidence from the verses indicating the drowning of Pharaoh
1-
Indeed, I think, O Pharaoh, that you are doomed. So he intended to incite them from the land , so We drowned him and those with him, all together. (Surat Al-Isra’ 17: 102-103) This is an explicit
indication of the drowning and death of Pharaoh.
2- Now, while you disobeyed before and were among the corrupters, so today We will save you with your body that you may be a sign to those who come after you. (Surat Yunus 10: 90)
This verse implicitly indicates the death and drowning of Pharaoh.
Tafsir Ibn Kathir (vol. 4, p. 294):
And His saying: { {So today We will save you with your body that you may be a sign to those who come after you.} Ibn Abbas and others from the Salaf said: Some of the Children of Israel doubted the death of Pharaoh, so God Almighty commanded the sea to throw him with his body (1) without a soul, and he was wearing his well-known armor [by him] (2) on a high place (3) of the earth, so that they would ascertain his death and destruction. For this reason, God Almighty said: {So today We will save you} meaning: We will raise you up on a high place (4) of the earth, {with your body} Mujahid said: with your body. Al-Hasan said: with a body without a soul. Abdullah bin Shaddad said: whole and healthy, meaning: it was not torn apart so that they would ascertain and recognize it. Abu Sakhr said: With your armor (5)
3- So We seized him and his soldiers and threw them into the sea. Then see how was the end of the wrongdoers (Surat Al-Qasas 28:40).
Clear evidence of the drowning of Pharaoh and his soldiers.
So there is no disagreement among us about the evidence of these verses on the death of Pharaoh and his drowning.
And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued them in oppression and enmity until, when drowning overtook him, he said, “I believe that there is no deity except that in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of the Muslims.”
(Surah Yunus: 90)
First, where is the evidence that Pharaoh was saved from drowning? There is no
verse that says until, when drowning overtook him, he said…. And I do not find after that “So We saved him from drowning .” ***** So where did you get this false claim from ?
Second, where is the evidence in the verse that Pharaoh became a believer? There is no
verse that says, “Until, when drowning overtook him, he said, ‘I believe that there is no god except that in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of the Muslims.’” **** And God was not mentioned after that, for example, “We forgave him,” or that he became one of the believers . **** So where did you get this flawed understanding from ?
This is what is confirmed by the verses and hadiths, that the repentance of one who is overtaken by death is not accepted.
God Almighty said, “ Repentance is only for those who do evil in ignorance and then repent soon after. It is those to whom God will turn in forgiveness. And God is Knowing and Wise.” (17) And it is not Repentance is for those who do evil deeds until, when death approaches one of them, he says, "Indeed, I have repented now." And not for those who die while they are disbelievers - for them We have prepared a painful punishment. (18 ) An-Nisaa'
This is one proof, and if you wish, I can add a
third: You did not complete the two verses following this verse because they explicitly expose weak souls that have tempted themselves to talk nonsense about what they do not know and to hurl false accusations at the most honorable book known to people.
I will write the verses from the beginning and add the verses that expose you.
God Almighty said:
And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and a group of people pursued them. Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued him in oppression and enmity until, when drowning overtook him, he said, “I believe that there is no god except Him in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of the Muslims.” (90) Now, though you disobeyed before and were of the corrupters. (91) So today We will save you with your body that you may be a sign to those who come after you. And indeed, many among the people, of Our signs, are heedless. (92)
We have previously explained the significance of the two verses. {And We caused the Children of Israel
to cross the sea
} . That is because God inspired Moses, when he reached the sea, to strike it with his staff, so he struck it, and it split into twelve paths, and the Children of Israel took it, and led Pharaoh and his soldiers behind him (1) entering. So
when Moses and his people had finished coming out of the sea, and Pharaoh and his soldiers were entering it, God commanded the sea to collapse upon Pharaoh and his soldiers, drowning them, while the Children of Israel were watching.
Even when Pharaoh realized that he was drowning and was certain of his destruction, he said, “I believe that there is no god except the one in whom the Children of Israel believe,” which is God, the true God, there is no god but Him. “And I am of the Muslims,” meaning those who submit to the religion of God and to what Moses brought.
{91} God Almighty said - explaining that this faith in this case is of no benefit to him: {Now} you believe and acknowledge the Messenger of God {and you disobeyed before} meaning: you committed sins, disbelief and denial {and you were among the corrupters} so faith will not benefit you as is God’s habit, that when the disbelievers reach this state of necessity, their faith will not benefit them, because their faith has become a visible faith like the faith of someone who comes to the Day of Resurrection, and what benefits is only faith in the unseen.
__________
French scientist Maurice Bucaille who examined the body of Pharaoh Moses, peace be upon him, and proved that he drowned (look with me at these clips about this man’s conversion to Islam because of this mummy).
Maurice Bucaille was preparing a final report about what he believed to be a new discovery in the recovery of Pharaoh’s body from the sea and its mummification immediately after his drowning, until someone whispered in his ear, saying: Do not rush… Muslims are talking about the drowning of this mummy.
But he strongly denounced this news and was surprised by it, as such a discovery can only be known through the development of modern science and through modern, highly accurate computer devices. Someone told him that their Quran, which they believe in, tells a story about his drowning and the safety of his body after the drowning. He became even more astonished and began to wonder… How is this when this mummy was not discovered until 1898, that is, about two hundred years ago, while their Quran has been around for more than one thousand four hundred years? How can this be right, when all of humanity, not just the Arabs, knew nothing about the ancient Egyptians mummifying the bodies of the pharaohs until only a few decades ago?
Bucaille decided to travel to the Muslim countries to see for himself, and there he had his first conversation with them about what he had discovered about the survival of the body of the pharaoh after drowning. One of them stood up, opened the Quran for him, and began to read to him the verse of Allah Almighty: “This day We will save you with your body that you may be a sign to those who come after you… And indeed, many people, of Our signs, are heedless.”
The impact of the verse was strong on him, and his soul was shaken to the point that he stood before the audience and shouted at the top of his voice: “I have converted to Islam and have believed in this Quran.”
This news informs us of the existence of scientific evidence of the death of the pharaoh by drowning, as testified by one of the Western scholars who later converted to Islam, and he denies that the pharaoh survived.
Psalm 136 :15
And He delivered Pharaoh and his forces into the Red Sea, for His mercy endures forever
. I wonder what the benefit of the sentence at the end of the text is???
