The suspicion of the Prophet’s marriage to our mother Safiyya

. ــــ

The story of the Mother of the Believers, Safiyya bint Huyayy ibn Akhtab, may God be pleased with her, was only mentioned in Islamic books.

Word thieves stole some words such as (killed her husband - and her father, and married her)

and then they distorted the words from their place and said (assaulted her).

Therefore, if we are talking about Safiyya bint Huyayy, we hope you read the entire story from the books of biography.

Here are some important events

ــــ

First,

she is the Mother of the Believers, Safiyya bint Huyayy ibn Akhtab ibn Sa’na. Her father is the master of Banu Nadir, from the tribe of Levi, son of the Prophet of God, Israel, son of Isaac, son of Abraham, peace be upon them.

Second

, the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, did not fight her people (and did not order the killing of any of them).

The Muslims besieged the fortress of the Jews of Banu Qurayza after they betrayed the covenant of God and His Messenger

. Ali ibn Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him, shouted while they were besieging Banu Qurayza: O battalion of faith,

and he advanced . And Al-Zubayr ibn Al-Awwam, and he said, By God, I will taste what Hamza tasted or I will conquer their fortress.

Then the Jews of Banu Qurayzah shouted: O Muhammad, we will submit to the judgment of Saad ibn Muadh.

The reason for their submission to the judgment of Saad is because they are allies of the Aws

, because they thought that Saad ibn Muadh, may God be pleased with him, would pardon them

as the leader of the Khazraj did with his allies from the Jews of Banu Qaynuqa.

But God disappointed the expectations of the Jews of Banu Qurayzah,

and Saad ibn Muadh, may God be pleased with him, ruled that the men be killed, the women be taken captive, and the money be divided.

This ruling is present in the Torah before the revelation of the Gospel and the Qur’an

(and it is the ruling of those who betray the covenant and the pact. The Jews of Banu Qurayzah betrayed the covenant between them and the Muslims during the fighting of the polytheist Muslims).

Thirdly,

the marriage of Safiyyah bint Huyayy ibn Akhtab to the Messenger of God

, may God bless him and grant him peace. Safiyyah bint Huyayy was taken with the prisoners, so the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, chose her for himself, and gave her the choice between Islam and remaining in her religion,

saying to her: Choose. If you choose Islam, I will keep you for myself - that is, I will marry you - and if you choose Judaism, I may free you so that you may join your people.

She said: O Messenger of God, I loved Islam and believed in you before you called me, since I came to your camp and I have no interest in Judaism, nor do I have a father or a brother in it, and you gave me the choice between disbelief and Islam,
so God and His Messenger are more beloved to me than freedom and returning to my people.

Fourthly,

some stories about the Mother of the Believers, Safiyyah bint Huyayy.

Ibn Hajar mentioned in Al-Isabah and Ibn Saad in Al-Tabaqat, on the authority of Zayd ibn Aslam, may God be pleased with him, who said: The wives of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, gathered during his illness in which he died, and his wives gathered around him.
Safiyyah bint Huyayy said: By God, O Prophet of God, I wish that what you have is in me. The wives of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, winked at each other, and he, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: By God, she is

telling the truth. Safiyyah, may God be pleased with her,

entered upon the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and I had heard from Aisha and Hafsa something, so

I said to him: It has reached me that Aisha and Hafsa say that we are better than Safiyyah. We are the daughters of the Messenger of God’s paternal uncle, may God bless him and grant him peace, and his wives.

He said: Why didn’t you say - How can you two be better than me? My husband is Muhammad, my father is Aaron, and my uncle is Moses.

Among her positions that indicate her patience and intelligence is what the books of biography mention that a slave girl of hers came to Omar bin Al-Khattab and said: Safiyya loves the Sabbath and maintains ties with the Jews. Omar sent to ask her,

and she said: As for the Sabbath, I have not loved it since God replaced it with Friday. As for the Jews, I have a kinship with them and I

maintain ties with them. Then she said to the slave girl: What made you do what you did? She said: The devil. She said: Go, you are free.

Fifth

: Safiyya bint Huyayy ibn Akhtab testifies to the prophethood of the Prophet.

Ibn Ishaq said: Abdullah ibn Abi Bakr ibn Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Hazm told me. He said: I was told on the authority of Safiyya bint Huyayy ibn Akhtab that she said: I was the most beloved son of my father to him and to my uncle Abu Yasir. I never met them with a son of theirs except that they took me instead of him. She said: When the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, came to Medina and settled in Quba with Banu Amr ibn Awf, my father Huyayy ibn Akhtab and my uncle Abu Yasir ibn Akhtab went to him in the early hours of the morning. She said: They did not return until sunset. She said: They came tired, lazy, and slumped, walking slowly. She said: I was excited to see them as I used to do, but by God, neither of them turned to me despite the grief they were in. She said: I heard my uncle Abu Yasir saying to Abu Huyayy ibn Akhtab: Is he he? He said: Yes, by God. He said: Do you recognize him and confirm him? He said: Yes. He said: What is in your heart towards him? He said: His enmity, by God, I did not remain.

Sixth:

The ruling of the Old Testament on the people of Safiyya (the Jews of Banu The story

says that when the Children of Israel left Egypt, the Amalekites betrayed them and took them by surprise.

The story says that the Jews of Banu Qurayzah betrayed the Muslims while they were going out to meet the polytheists.

God ordered Saul to kill men, women, children, and everything without pardon. He

ordered Saad bin Muadh, may God be pleased with him, to kill the men (those who were able to fight).

The king of Banu Amalek was taken prisoner alive.

The leader of Banu Qurayzah was taken prisoner alive (Huyayy bin Akhtab)

. Saul pardoned Agag, the king of Banu Amalek.

Saad bin Muadh ordered Huyayy bin Akhtab, the leader of Banu Qurayzah, to be killed

. The Lord was angry with Saul because he disobeyed His order not to kill Agag.

The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said about the ruling of Saad bin Muadh, may God be pleased with him:

I have ruled on them as God has ruled from above the seven heavens.

Samuel, Chapter Fifteen, Verses 1-11

1 Samuel said to Saul, “I am the one whom the Lord sent to anoint you king over his people, the children of Israel. Now hear the word of the Lord. 2 This is what the Lord Almighty says: I remember what the Amalekites did to the children of Israel when they came out of Egypt, and how they attacked them on the way. 3 Now go and attack the Amalekites and destroy all that they have. Do not spare them, but kill men and women, children and infants, oxen and sheep, camels and donkeys. 4 So Saul called his men and numbered them in Telaim, and they were two hundred thousand men. 5 And he led them to the city of the Amalekites, and lay in wait in the valley. 6 And he said to the Kenites, “Arise, get out from among the Amalekites, that you may not perish with them, for your ancestors did good to the children of Israel when they came out of Egypt.” So the Kenites came out from among them. 7 And Saul struck down the children of Amalek from Havilah to Shur, which is opposite Egypt, 8 and he took Agag king of the children of Amalek alive, and he put all his people to the sword. 9 But Saul and his men spared Agag, and did not kill the best of them. The sheep, the cattle, the lambs, and everything that was good, but they destroyed everything that was worthless and weak. - 10 - Then the Lord said to Samuel - 11 - I regret that I made Saul king, because he has turned away from me and has not listened to the words of my Lord. Samuel was distressed and cried out to the Lord all night

ــــ

In conclusion,

the part related to the events and stories from the book of the Prophet’s biography and some clippings from the Internet that cite the books of biography.

The part related to the Book of Samuel, Chapter Fifteen,

is from me. I read it and found a similarity between it and

the ruling of Saad bin Muadh, may God be pleased with him

(in addition to the fact that I read before that Saad bin Muadh, may God be pleased with him, was aware of the book of the Jews).

In addition, I found something that confirms the text mentioned in the Book of Samuel, which is that in the books of biography, I found that the Jews knew that their fate was to be killed,

and this was through reading the following

(1)

The hadith of the Mother of the Believers Aisha, may God be pleased with her, in which she says

that a woman from the Jews of Banu Qurayzah was with her and she was laughing

outwardly and inwardly, and when a caller called her name, she went and

the Mother of the Believers Aisha said to her, “Where are

you going?” The woman said, “I will be killed.” (The reason for her killing is that she had killed a man before treacherously.)

From here it becomes clear that the woman knows her ruling. (2) Ka'b ibn Asad offered them three things, one of which was to believe in this Messenger, for by God it has become clear to you that he is a sent prophet . They said, "We will never depart from the rulings of the
Torah . " And because he was knowledgeable about the rulings of the Torah, he said to them, "Kill the women and children and go out to fight him. " And when they said to Abu Lubabah, "O Abu Lubabah, shall we submit to the ruling of Muhammad?" He said, "Yes," and he pointed with his hand to his throat, indicating that it was slaughter. From this standpoint, I can say : 1- The Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, did not fight or order the killing of anyone from Banu Qurayza. 2- The one who ordered their killing was Sa'd ibn Abi Mu'adh, and they were the ones who asked him to rule in their case.

3- The Jews knew about their fate through their book, but they thought that Saad, may God be pleased with him, would pardon them and would not take them into account according to the ruling of their book regarding them.

4- The marriage of the Mother of the Believers, Safiyyah, may God be pleased with her, out of her desire.

Sahih Muslim,
Book of Marriage

3563 - Zuhair ibn Harb narrated to us, Ismail narrated to us - meaning Ibn Ulayyah - on the authority of Abd al-Aziz, on the authority of Anas, that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, invaded Khaybar. He said: We prayed the dawn prayer there in the early hours of the morning. The Prophet of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, rode and Abu Talhah rode and I was riding behind Abu Talhah. The Prophet of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, ran through the alleys of Khaybar and my knee was To touch the thigh of the Prophet of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and the izar was pulled back from the thigh of the Prophet of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, for I see the whiteness of the thigh of the Prophet of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. When he entered the village, he said, “Allah is Greater, Khaybar has been destroyed. When we encamp in the courtyard of a people, evil is the morning for those who were warned.” He said it three times. He said, and the people had gone out to their work, so they said, Muhammad, by Allah. Abdul Aziz said: Some of our companions said: Muhammad and Al-Khamis. He said: We seized it by force and the captives were gathered. Dihya came to him and said: O Messenger of Allah, give me a slave girl from the captives. He said: Go and take a slave girl. So he took Safiyya bint Huyayy  ... Then a man came to the Prophet of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: O Prophet of Allah, You gave Dihya Safiyya bint Huyayy, the chief of Qurayza and An-Nadir, she is only suitable for you . He said: “Call her to him.” He said: So he brought her, and when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) looked at her, he said: “Take another slave girl from the captives.” He said: And he freed her and married her. Thabit said to him: O Abu Hamza, what a true dowry she is. He said: He freed her. And he married her, and when he was on the road, Umm Sulaym prepared her for him and presented her to him during the night. Then the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, became a bride and said, “Whoever has something, let him bring it.” He said, and he spread out a mat. He said, “A man would bring yoghurt, a man would bring dates, and a man would bring ghee, and they would make a stew.” So it was the feast of the Messenger of God. Allah's Messenger (PBUH)

said: Why did the Prophet (PBUH) give  Safiyyah to someone else before, until he heard that she was the daughter of the chief of the people, and out of concern for her, the Prophet (PBUH) ordered him to take Dihya instead of her? So the Prophet (PBUH) did not know who Safiyyah was, and whether Huyayy ibn Akhtab had a daughter or not.

All of this indicates that he was ignorant of who she was, and he did not have Safiyyah or the daughter of the chief of the people in mind, knowing that her husband had been killed previously.

As was the custom of the Messenger of Allah, he did not force anyone to embrace Islam unless he was convinced by what Allah had revealed in the Book and the Sunnah. So the Messenger (PBUH) asked her about that, and gave her the choice between remaining Jewish or embracing Islam. If she chose Judaism, he would free her, and if she converted to Islam, he would keep her for himself. Her choice of Islam came from a sincere desire to repent and love for the guidance of Muhammad (PBUH).

When she came from Khaybar, she stayed in the house of Haritha bin Al-Nu'man, and the women came to see her because they heard about her beauty, and among the women was Aisha - may Allah be pleased with her - who was said to have been veiled. After she left, the Messenger of Allah asked her about Safiyya, and Aisha replied: I saw a Jewish woman, and the Messenger of Allah said: "She has converted to Islam and her conversion is good."

When the Messenger of Allah offered  to marry her, she refused, and this affected the psyche of our noble Messenger. So they continued on their way to Al-Sahba. When the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, entered upon Safiyya, she told him that on her wedding night with Kinanah she saw in her dream a moon falling into her lap, so she told her husband about that, and he said angrily: It is as if you wish for Muhammad, the king of Hijaz, and he slapped her on the face.

Then the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, asked her about the reason for her refusal of the wedding when they were in Khaybar, and she told him that she feared for him because of the Jews' proximity. Umayya bint Abi Qais said: I heard that she was not yet seventeen years old when she was married to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.

Did the Messenger of Allah force  her to marry him?

During the reign of Omar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), a slave girl of Safiyyah came to him and told him that Safiyyah loved the Sabbath and maintained ties with the Jews. When he asked Safiyyah about that, she replied, “As for the Sabbath , I no longer love it after Allah replaced it with Friday . As for the Jews, I maintain ties with my kin.” He asked the slave girl about the reason for her action, and she said, “The devil.” So Safiyyah freed her.
