Veil of Slaves

Between the veil of the free woman and the veil of the slave woman

Introduction.

Napoleon Bonaparte's launch at the head of the French armies to the East, targeting Egypt and the Levant in particular, was the Tenth Crusade, which was about three centuries away from its predecessor, the Ninth. The tactics and methods of that crusade differed in that it made its goal the seizure of the will and awareness of Islamic societies, not the seizure of lands; or that the seizure of lands was a secondary and complex goal less important than the seizure of the will and awareness. That crusade, which began about 200 years ago in its French and English versions, succeeded in creating models and symbols affiliated with it among Muslim societies, whose feet were firmly entrenched in the positions of thought, politics, the military, the media, and decision-making, with brutal, systematic, and deliberate suppression of any form of resistance and denial of their falsehood.
{And they will continue to fight you until they turn you back from your religion if they are able. And whoever of you reverts from his religion and dies while he is a disbeliever - for those, their deeds have become worthless in this world and the Hereafter. And those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.} - Surah Al-Baqarah 217

And for the first time in the history of Muslims, the banners of falsehood are raised and its voice is raised, and calls for doubt, attack, and distortion of Islam itself are spreading without a deterrent or defender to extinguish the fire of their sedition and eradicate the influence of their corruption. Immediately after the death of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) and his passing to the highest companion, apostates, claimants of prophethood, and those who refused to pay zakat appeared. Caliph Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) suppressed them, repelled their sedition, and preserved the religion from being diminished. When malicious, foolish, and those who fished in troubled waters appeared, claiming divinity for the Commander of the Faithful Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah honor his face), the Commander of the Faithful burned them. Thus, you do not find a false and corrupting claim except that it is uprooted like a malicious tree that has no stability.
In our days, which are filled with sedition, the rise of false states, and their corruption without right, questioning the hijab and the lawful dress of the Muslim woman is one of the malicious methods to turn Muslims away from their religion and spread immorality among them, along with veiled claims of nudity and moral decadence through films, programs, songs, and concerts.
{And Allah wants to accept your repentance, but those who follow their desires want you to deviate with a great deviation.} - Surah An-Nisa 27

In this slander and doubt, they resorted to searching through the books of Islamic heritage and alternated between tracking its strangeness and its vices at times and between falsification and deception at other times, in order to make their lie about the non-obligation of the veil, and even considering it an intrusion into Islam, a fundamental principle of the religion. Sometimes they went to the fact that the veil came to differentiate between the free woman and the slave woman. Sometimes they went to the “invalidity” of the hadith of Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them) about showing the face and hands. The last thing they went to is that the private parts of a woman are between her navel and her knee!
The strange thing is that the Muslim woman's veil and her legitimate dress have never been a source of controversy or debate throughout fourteen centuries, except for showing or hiding the face, so much so that among the "Islamic sects and religions" of Sunnis, Shiites and Ibadis, you will not find anyone who disagrees on the issue of veil and legitimate dress. Only some suspicious sects appeared, such as the Nusayris, Ismailis and Druze, who appeared in the Middle Ages among the Crusader castles in the Levant, calling for the abrogation of the legitimate veil, among many other things they abrogated, to the point that some of them abrogated the Qur'an itself! In
fact, the legitimate veil is seen in previous nations of the People of the Book, so much so that you would not know if you looked at the religious, committed Jewish and Christian women, you would not see any difference between them and Muslim women... the same veil, the same dress and the same niqab. Have you seen an icon or picture of the Virgin Mary (peace be upon her) - although I am convinced that those pictures are not true at all - with her hair uncovered?
Please take a look at the following visual materials and do not be surprised, as the call of the prophets is one, from Adam (peace and blessings be upon him) until the Noble Prophet (may God bless him and his family and grant them peace), and it is Islam... one message and one nation to unify God, honor man, and take him by the hand to the bliss of the Hereafter.

All that happened is that the devils of mankind and jinn succeeded with a rate of almost 100% in distorting and transforming the religion of Islam that the prophets brought before them, and they have been seeking for 1400 years to do the same thing with the message brought by the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him and his family).
And with the permission of Allah Almighty and seeking His help, success and guidance, I will refute and invalidate those claims in this short message and show their falsehood.
Samaritans and Anwatiyyin.

We start from where the corruptors begin their doubts by quoting from heritage books...
1 - The veil came to differentiate between the free woman and the slave woman. That is, it is a class legislation, and with the disappearance of the slave women, the need and purpose of the veil disappears.
2 - Omar bin Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) hit a slave girl of the Anas family with a whip when he saw her veiled and said to her: "Uncover your head and do not resemble free women."
3 - The private parts of the slave woman are between the navel and the knees.
4- The hadith of Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them) about showing the face and hands is not correct.
Before going into refuting and studying those points, we will address with some accomplishment what I call the phenomenon of (Samaritans) or (Anwatiyya), which is a strange phenomenon that afflicts the Muslim community after Allah bestows upon it liberation from the yoke of the infidels and the shackles of the oppressors, so they take paths similar to the paths of the oppressors and infidels themselves whom Allah humiliated and freed the believers from!
After Allah bestowed upon the Children of Israel salvation from Pharaoh and his arrogance, while the Prophet of Allah Moses (peace and blessings be upon him) was going to the appointed time with his Lord, a person appeared from among the people whom the Holy Quran called (the Samaritan). He made for them a golden calf similar to the calf (Abis) which the people of Pharaoh worshipped, and the Samaritan tempted the Children of Israel and made them prostrate themselves before the statue of the golden calf! And they continued their sedition until Moses (peace be upon him) came and expelled and rejected the Samaritan and blew up the calf and brought the divine tablets in which was the revelation of God to the worlds.
After the conquest of Mecca and a large number of people had entered Islam, the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) passed by a tree on his way to Hunayn called (Dhat Anwat) which the Arabs used to seek blessings from in the pre-Islamic era and considered sacred. Some of those who were with the Prophet said: “O Messenger of God, make for us a Dhat Anwat as they have a Dhat Anwat.” The Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) replied to them: "Glory be to Allah! This is just as the people of Moses said: 'Make for us a god as they have gods . ' By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, you will surely follow the ways of those who were before you."
In recent history, we find that the Ottoman Empire, which Allah had blessed with the conquest of many European lands, began, since the reign of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, to be influenced by some European lifestyles. It began with clothing, ceremonial ceremonies, and the importation of theaters, and ended with legislation without Allah and the mortgage of the entire Ottoman Empire to the treasuries of the infidels, then its downfall and demise!
Likewise, we find in some Islamic heritage books that “Samaritanism” or “Anwatiyyah” is influenced by the nations of disbelief or by previous ignorance. Yes, it did not reach the level of polytheism, but it deceives Muslims and creates patterns of behavior among them similar to the patterns of the Persians, Romans, foreigners, or the ignorance of the Arabs. What we see in heritage books and transmitted books of wonders that are not accepted by reason or by sound nature, and even contradict the Holy Quran and the Noble Prophetic Sunnah regarding the hijab and private parts is an image of the tyranny of society with its human shortcomings over the Sharia with its divine guidance instead of the Sharia dominating by purifying society. And if there was our Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) among the Children of Israel, who would return them to the right path, the Samaritan would not have led them astray, and if there was our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) in the early days of Islam, when those with him were tempted by the tree of Anwat, he explained to them; Allah has preserved for humanity until the Day of Judgment a book that is a guide for the worlds, takes the place of the prophets and differentiates between truth and falsehood. So no attention or status is paid to the actions or words of a servant if they contradict the Book of Allah and the established Sunnah of His Messenger.
(And We have sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming that which preceded it of the Scripture and as a criterion over it. So judge between them by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their inclinations away from what has come to you of the truth.) - Surat Al-Maidah 48

The noble Surah is firm, strict and clear in emphasizing that the Qur’an is the dominant and master over what came before it from the People of the Book, and certainly the Qur’an is the dominant and master over what will come after it of traces and narrations.
{O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final outcome.} - Surah An-Nisa 59

Doesn't a Muslim have the right, if he does not accept a trace, saying or action of a companion, imam or sheikh, to refer it to Allah and His Messenger?
Shouldn't a Muslim be saved from what previous nations fell into, which was taking rabbis and monks as lords instead of Allah?
{They have taken their rabbis and their monks as lords besides Allah, and [also] the Messiah, the son of Mary. And they were not commanded except to worship one God. There is no god but Him. Exalted is He above what they associate with Him.} - Surah At-Tawbah 31

On the authority of Saeed bin Amr Al-Sakuni, he said: Baqiyah told us, on the authority of Qais bin Ar-Rabi’, on the authority of Abd Al-Salam bin Harb An-Nahdi, on the authority of Ghadif, on the authority of Mus’ab bin Sa’d, on the authority of Adi bin Hatim, he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, reciting Surah At-Tawbah, and when he recited: {They have taken their rabbis and their monks as lords besides Allah,} I said: O Messenger of Allah, they did not pray to them! He said : "You are right, but they were making lawful for them what Allah had forbidden, so they would consider it lawful, and they were making unlawful what Allah had permitted for them, so they would consider it unlawful . "
Is there no sufficiency and protection in the Holy Quran and the Noble Sunnah from drowning in the whirlpool of traces, narratives, and news? Are they authentic, weak, or fabricated? What are the circumstances surrounding these traces and what are the backgrounds of those narratives? And what is the accuracy of the news that has reached us?
The hijab is racism and class legislation, and it has no status today.

They said that the veil came to differentiate between the free woman and the slave woman. That is, it is a class legislation, and with the disappearance of slave women, the need and purpose of the veil disappears.
Allah the Almighty says:
{O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.} - Surah Al-Ahzab 59.

Is not the slave woman who believed in Allah and His Messenger from the women of the believers?
Show me a saying of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family and grant them peace) that explains this verse in detail, saying that it differentiated between the free woman and the slave woman!
Then let one of those who fish in troubled waters come to me and say that the legislation of the veil allows hypocrites to harass and molest female slaves, but does not permit them to do the same with free women... Haven’t you seen what God said before and after that previous verse about the hypocrites?
As for before it...
{Indeed, those who abuse Allah and His Messenger - Allah has cursed them in this world and the Hereafter and has prepared for them a humiliating punishment. (57) And those who abuse believing men and believing women for [something] other than what they have earned have certainly borne upon themselves a slander and a manifest sin. (58)} - Surat Al-Ahzab 57,58

As for after it...
{If the hypocrites, and those in whose hearts is disease, and the agitators in the religion do not desist, {The city. We will surely tempt you with them, then they will not stay with you therein except for a little while. (60) Cursed, wherever they are found, they will be seized and killed with a utter slaughter. (61) Such was the way of Allah with those who passed on before. And you will not find in the way of Allah any change. (62)} - Surat Al-Ahzab 60, 61, 62

Moreover, the following verse from Surat An-Nur clearly states that the command of the hijab is for every believing woman, and it has nothing to do with whether the believing woman is free or a slave...
{And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision. And let them cover their chests with their veils and not reveal their adornment except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husbands’ fathers, or their sons, or their husbands’ sons, or their brothers, or their brothers’ sons, or their sisters’ sons, or their women, or those their right hands possess, or those their wives possess, or those their husbands possess, or those their fathers possess, or those their mother ... {And those who follow, not having desire, among men or children, who have not yet attained knowledge of the private parts of women, nor stamp their feet to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And repent to Allah, all of you, O believers, that you may succeed.} - Surat An-Nur 31

The noble verse explains without comment what the lawful dress should be, which is that the head covering (khimar) covers the chest (pocket)... Arabic words and vocabulary that do not bear meanings or complexity in interpretation!
It was mentioned in the noble hadith: Muhammad ibn Abi Harmalah al-Qalzumi narrated to us in the city of Qalzum, Ishaq ibn Ismail ibn Abd al-A’la al-Ubuli narrated to us, Amr ibn Hashim al-Bayruti narrated to us, al-Awza’i narrated to us, on the authority of Yahya ibn Abi Katheer, on the authority of Abdullah ibn Abi Qatada, on the authority of his father, who said: The Messenger of God (may God bless him and his family) said: ( And peace be upon him): “Allah does not accept the prayer of a woman until she covers her adornment, nor of a female slave who has reached menstruation until she covers herself
.” The private parts of a female slave are between her navel and her knee.

If it is part of the hijab that a woman should not strike her foot so that strange men do not notice her, then how did some people dare and abandon their minds and make the private parts of a female slave between her navel and her knee?
Then where did people get this distinction from, when the command of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family) in his biography of the family was to command everyone who owned a slave to dress him in what he wore and feed him what he ate, and he even made the owner and the slave brothers!
On the authority of Al-Ma'rur bin Suwaid, who said: I met Abu Dharr in Ar-Rabadha, and he was wearing a cloak and his slave was wearing a cloak. I asked him about that, and he said: I insulted a man and cursed his mother. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to me: "O Abu Dharr, have you cursed him by his mother? You are a man in whom there is ignorance. Your brothers are your servants, Allah has placed them under your control. So whoever has his brother under his control, let him feed him from what he eats, and let him clothe him from what he wears, and do not burden them with what they cannot bear. But if you burden them, then help them."
Rather, there is something that came regarding female slaves in particular that honors, protects, and elevates them. So how can a zealous or heedless person imagine that the pure Shari'ah allows fools to harass female slaves or violate their honor?
On the authority of Al-Sha'bi, on the authority of Abu Burdah, on the authority of Abu Musa, he said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Whoever has a slave girl and disciplines her and disciplines her well, then frees her and marries her, he will have two rewards."
And in the following noble hadith, there is a silencing of the voices of the extremists who have violated the honor of the poor slave girls in the name of religion and the nonsense and barking of the immoral hypocrites who trade in humanity and modernity to attack religion...
On the authority of Yazid bin Abi Shaybah, he said: I was an idle man, he said: A slave girl passed by me on one of the streets of Madinah, and I fell to Her flank, and when it was the next day, he said: The people came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family and grant them peace) to pledge allegiance to him, so I came to him and stretched out my hand to pledge allegiance to him, but he withdrew his hand and said: "Do I think you are the owner of the jubaydhah?" Meaning, were you not the owner of the jubaydhah yesterday? He said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, pledge allegiance to me, for by Allah I will never do it again? He said: "Then yes."
And Umar ibn al-Khattab beat a slave girl and forbade her from covering her.

The narration says: On the authority of Anas ibn Malik: Umar saw a slave girl of ours covering her face, so he beat her and said: Do not resemble free
women. 1 - A narration that if it is authentic, we do not know what the circumstances surrounding it are or who that slave girl is.
2- Why did we not receive similar cases to this story before the caliphate of Omar during the reign of Abu Bakr or after the caliphate of Omar during the reign of Othman or Ali?
3- Was that nation Muslim? Because the religion of the nation will make a difference.
Knowing that the era of Omar (may Allah be pleased with him) witnessed an openness to the world and communication with other nations as a result of the conquests and expansions in the lands of Persia, Rome, and Transoxiana, and the Mamluks of slaves and female slaves began to flock to the Arabian Peninsula and to Medina. The order of Abu Lu’lu’ah the Magian (may Allah curse him) was not far away.
The Mother of the Believers, Safiyyah bint Huyayy (may Allah be pleased with her), was from Banu Qurayzah of the Jews. When she was among the captives of the Muslims and belonged to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family), the Messenger of Allah freed her and married her. People did not know whether she had entered Islam and the Messenger of Allah married her so that she would be the Mother of the Believers or was she one of those whom his right hand possessed, except when the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family) imposed the veil on her, and people knew that she was one of the Mothers of the Believers (peace be upon them).
There is a noble hadith that supports the concept of the relationship between women’s unveiling and their deviation from the path of the believers, just as the People of the Book had deviated before them…
On the authority of Abdullah bin Amr, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family) said: “There will be men at the end of my nation who ride on saddles like camels, and they will alight at the doors of the mosques. Their women will be clothed but naked, and on their heads will be humps like the humps of lean camels. Curse them, for they are cursed. If there were a nation after you, your women would serve them as the women of the nations before you served you.”
4 - The firm words of Allah and the preserved Sunnah of the Prophet are the two judges over the actions of the Companions, the Followers, and all of humanity. So if the action of Omar (may Allah be pleased with him) or anyone else contradicts the two judges, then it has no place. Perhaps if the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him and his family) had known Omar in that state, he would have denounced him. The Prophet's biography is full of situations of advice and guidance, even blame and reproach to his companions...
Did not the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him and his family) disavow the burden of the sword of Khalid bin Al-Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) and say: O Allah, I disavow to You the actions of Khalid?
Did not the Messenger of Allah rebuke Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) when he insulted a slave about his mother, so the Prophet said
to him: You are a man in whom there is ignorance? Was not the Messenger of Allah angry with Usama bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) when he went to him to intercede for the woman thief, so the Prophet said to him: Is it in one of the limits of Allah, O Usama?
The hadith of Asma... is a straw that the drowning ones of pedantry and the fallen ones of immorality cling to.

It was narrated in the hadith on the authority of the Mother of the Believers Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Asma bint Abi Bakr entered upon the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wearing thin clothes. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) turned away from her and said, “ O Asma, when a woman reaches menstruation, nothing should be seen of her except this and this,” and he pointed to his face and hands.
The extremists wanted to convince people that it is obligatory to cover the face and hands, so they cited as evidence that the narrator of the hadith, Khalid ibn Duraik, did not meet Aisha. The immoral ones wanted to convince people to abandon the hijab, so they also cited as evidence that the narrator of the hadith, Khalid ibn Duraik, did not meet Aisha!
And because I am not here in this message concerned with explaining the position of the face and hands, but I only mean to explain the obligation of the veil, so I will present to you other citations from the pure prophetic Sunnah...
On the authority of Urwah ibn al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) on the authority of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) who said: May Allah have mercy on the women of the first emigrants, when Allah revealed {and let them draw their veils over their bosoms}, they tore their cloaks and covered themselves with them.
On the authority of Aisha: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to pray the dawn prayer, and believing women would attend with him, wrapped in their cloaks, then they would return to their homes, and no one would recognize them.
Conclusion.

The discussion of the issue of the hijab and the deception of the people of immorality and misguidance towards the Muslims regarding the hijab of the free woman and the hijab of the slave woman opens the door to discussing slavery in Islam and that Allah’s revelation in it protects the rights of slaves, frees them, and purifies them in a way that is not found in any nation other than Islam. I ask Allah to help me to explain this, and I do not find anything better than the words of Allah the Most High to conclude with...
{It is He who has sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Book. In it are verses that are entirely clear - they are the foundation of the Book - and others are unspecific. But as for those in whose hearts is deviation, they follow that of it which is unspecific, seeking discord and seeking an interpretation of it. But none knows its interpretation except Allah and those firmly rooted in knowledge. They say, “We believe in it. All is from our Lord.”} None will be reminded except those of understanding. - Surah Al Imra
