Proof that the Quraysh called the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, “the Trustworthy” and described him as truthful before his mission

Some Christians ask a question:

Where is it proven to you, O Muslims, that the Quraysh called the Prophet of Islam the Truthful and Trustworthy, other than Mursal Ibn Ishaq?

And to answer we say:

1. Mushkil al-Athar by Imam al-Tahawi, may God have mercy on him, Part 14
5596 - As Ibn Abi Dawud narrated to us, Saeed bin Sulayman al-Wasiti narrated to us, Abbad bin Awwam narrated to us, on the authority of Hilal bin Khabab, Mujahid narrated to me, my master Abdullah bin al-Sa’ib narrated to us, he said: I was among those who built the House, so I took a stone, and I used to worship it, so if it was There would be something in the house, so I would send it and it would be poured on him. And good milk would be brought and I would send it and it would be poured on him. And the Quraysh differed and quarrelled about the stone, where they should put it, until there was almost a fight between them with swords. So he said: Look for the first man to enter from the door of the mosque. So the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, entered. And he greeted them, and they said: This is Amin, and they used to call him Amin in the pre-Islamic era , and they said: This is Muhammad, so he came and took a garment and spread it out, and put the stone in it, and he said to this clan, and to this clan, and to this clan: “Let each one of you take a corner of the garment,” so they did, and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, took it and put it in His place.

2. Sahih Al-Bukhari, Part One, Book of the Beginning of Revelation 7
Abu Al-Yaman Al-Hakam bin Nafi’ narrated to us, he said: Shu’aib narrated to us, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, he said: Ubaidullah bin Abdullah bin Utbah bin Masoud narrated to me, that Abdullah bin Abbas narrated to him, that Abu Sufyan bin Harb narrated to him that Heraclius sent to him with a group of Quraysh, and they were merchants in the Levant during the period when the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was in favor of Abu Sufyan and the infidels of Quraysh. They came to him while they were in Ilia, so he called them to his council, and around him were the leaders of the Romans. Then he called them and called his interpreter, and said: Which of you is closest in lineage to this man who claims to be a prophet? Abu Sufyan said: I am the closest in lineage to them. He said: Bring him close to me and bring his companions close and place them behind him. Then he said to his interpreter: Tell them: I am going to ask this man about this man, and if he lies to me, then lie to him. By Allah, were it not for the shame of them attributing a lie to me, I would have lied about him. Then the first thing he asked me about him was: How is his lineage among you? I said: He is of good lineage among us. He said: Has anyone among you ever said this before him? I said: No. He said: Were there any kings among his fathers? I said: No. He said: Do the nobles of the people follow him or the weak ones? I said: Rather, their weak ones. He said: Do they increase or decrease? I said: Rather, they increase. He said: Does any of them turn away from his religion out of discontent after entering it? I said: No. He said: Did you accuse him of lying before he said what he said? I said: No. He said: Does he betray? I said: No....

And in Musnad Abi al-Fadl al-Zuhri, Hadith No.: 499
(Hadith with a chain of transmission traceable to the Prophet) Narrated to us Yahya ibn Muhammad ibn Sa`id, Narrated to us Abdullah ibn Imran al-`Aabidi, Narrated to us Sufyan ibn `Uyaynah, on the authority of al-Zuhri, and he said once: Abu Ishaq narrated to us, on the authority of al-Zuhri, on the authority of `Ubayd Allah ibn `Abdullah, on the authority of Ibn `Abbas, who said: Abu Sufyan ibn Harb said: “We went out during the period between us and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, Upon him be peace and blessings, until he reached Gaza. Then he sent a bishop to us, and the bishop sent us. When we were brought to him, we entered upon him, and he said: Which of you is the closest relative to this man? Abu Sufyan said: I said: I am. So he made me go ahead of my companions, and made my companions stand behind me, and he said: I am going to ask him about something, and if he tells a lie, then accuse him of lying. And he ordered the interpreter to He told him, Abu Sufyan said: Even if I had lied to him, my companions would not have lied to me, but what prevented me from doing so was shyness. He said: How is his lineage among you? I said: Among the most prominent of us. He said: Was any of his family a king? I said: No. He said: Who followed him? I said: The weak ones. He said: Will any of those who followed him return to you? I said: No. He said: How is his truthfulness towards you? I said: We used to call him Al-Ameen. He said: How is the war between you and him? I said: It is a debate, against us and for us. He said: How is his loyalty? Abu Sufyan said: You could not do anything to him except this. I said: There is a covenant between us and him, so we do not know how it will be.

3. Sahih Al-Bukhari, Book of Interpretation of the Qur’an 4770
- Umar ibn Hafs ibn Ghiyath narrated to us, my father narrated to us, Al-A’mash narrated to us, he said: Amr ibn Murrah narrated to me, on the authority of Sa’id ibn Jubayr, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, he said: When the verse {And warn your nearest relatives} [Ash-Shu’ara’: 214] was revealed, the Prophet, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, ascended Al-Safa and began to call out: “O Banu Fihr, O Banu Adi - the clans of Quraysh - until they gathered together. When a man was unable to go out, he would send a messenger to see what was going on. Abu Lahab and Quraysh came, and he said: “What do you think, if I told you that there are cavalry in the valley wanting to attack you, would you believe me?” They said: Yes, we have not experienced from you anything but truth . He said: “Then I am a warner to you before a severe punishment.” Abu Lahab said: “Perish you for the rest of the day! Is this why you have gathered us?” Then this verse was revealed: {Perish the hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he! His wealth will not avail him, nor will that which he earned.

4. Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, Part Eight, Book of the Firsts
5173 (97) Al-Fadl narrated to us, Hisham bin Saad narrated to us, on the authority of Zaid bin Aslam, who said: Al-Mughirah bin Shu’bah said: The first day I knew the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was when I was walking with Abu Jahl in Mecca. We met the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he said to him: O Abu Al-Hakam, come to God and to His Messenger and to His Book. I call you to God. He said: O Muhammad, you are not immune from cursing our gods. Do you want anything but for us to testify that you have conveyed the message? We testify that you have conveyed the message. He said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, turned away from him and turned to me and said: By God, I know that what he says is true, but the Banu Qusayy said: Among us is the guardianship, so we said: Yes. Then they said: Among us is the villages, so we said: Yes. Then they said: Among us is the assembly, so we said: Yes. Then they said: Among us is the watering place, so we said: Yes. Then they fed and we fed until the caravans came together and they said: Among us is a prophet, by God I will not do that.

This narration was authenticated by Muhammad bin Rizq al-Tarhouni in his book Sahih al-Sirah al-Nabawiyyah, Part Two, Page 311.

and his followers also testified to that

1. Musnad Ahmad, may God have mercy on him, Part One
1742 Yaqub narrated to us, my father narrated to us, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Ishaq, Muhammad ibn Muslim ibn Ubayd Allah ibn Shihab narrated to me, on the authority of Abu Bakr ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Harith ibn Hisham al-Makhzumi, on the authority of Umm Salamah, daughter of Abu Umayyah ibn al-Mughirah, the wife of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, she said [p. 202] When we settled in the land of Abyssinia, we were treated as neighbors by the best neighbor, the Negus. We were safe in our religion and worshipped God. We were not harmed nor did we hear anything we disliked. When that reached the Quraysh, they decided to send two brave men to the Negus among us and to present gifts to the Negus from among the most interesting goods of Mecca. One of the most amazing things that came to him from there was leather. So they collected a lot of leather for him and did not leave a single one of his patriarchs without presenting him with a gift. Then they sent that with Abdullah ibn Abi Rabi’ah ibn al-Mughirah al-Makhzumi and Amr. Ibn Al-Aas Ibn Wael Al-Sahmi and they gave them their orders and said to them: Give each patriarch his gift before you speak to the Negus about them. Then present his gifts to the Negus and ask him to hand them over to you before he speaks to them. She said: So they went out and came to the Negus while we were with him in the best house and with the best neighbor. There was not one patriarch among his patriarchs except that they gave him his gift before they spoke to the Negus. Then they said to each patriarch among them: Foolish boys from us have flocked to the king’s country. They have abandoned the religion of their people and have not entered your religion and have come with an innovated religion that neither we nor you know. We have sent to the king about them the nobles of their people to return them to them. So when we speak to the king about them, advise him to hand them over to us and not speak to them, for their people are more respectful of them and more knowledgeable about what they have found fault with them. They said to them: Yes. Then they brought their gifts to the Negus and he accepted them from them. Then they spoke to him and said to him: O king, foolish boys from us have flocked to your country. They have abandoned the religion of their people and have not entered your religion and have come with an innovated religion that neither we nor you know. We have sent to you concerning them the nobles of their people from their fathers, uncles and clans so that you may return them to them, for they are more respected than them and more knowledgeable about what they have found fault with them and rebuked them for. She said: There was nothing more hateful to Abdullah bin Abi Rabi’ah and Amr bin Al-As than for the Negus to hear their words. His patriarchs around him said: They have spoken the truth, O king. Their people are more respected than them and more knowledgeable about what they have found fault with them. So hand them over to them so that they may return them to their country and their people. The Negus became angry and then said: No, by God, by God then I will not hand them over to them, and I will hardly let people live with me and settle in my country and choose me over others until I call them and ask them what these two say about their matter. If they are as they say, I will hand them over to them and return them to their people, but if they are otherwise, I will protect them from them and treat them well as long as they live with me. She said: Then he sent for the companions of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and called them. When his messenger came to them, they gathered and some of them said to one another, “What will you say to the man when you come to him?” They said, “We say, ‘By God, we do not know what our Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, has commanded us to do.’” When they came to him, the Negus had called his bishops and spread their copies of the Qur’an around him. He asked them, “What is this religion in which you have left your people and have not entered my religion or the religion of any of these nations?” They said, “The one who spoke to him was Ja’far ibn Abi Talib, who said to him, ‘O King, we were a people of ignorance who worshipped idols, ate dead animals, committed indecencies, severed ties of kinship, treated our neighbors badly. The strong among us used to eat the weak.’ So we remained like that until God sent to us a messenger from among us, whose lineage, truthfulness, trustworthiness, and chastity we knew.”He called us to Allah to make Him One and worship Him and to abandon what we and our fathers used to worship besides Him of stones and idols. He commanded us to speak the truth, to fulfill our trusts, to maintain family ties, to be good neighbors, to refrain from forbidden things and from bloodshed. He forbade us from indecencies, false speech, eating the wealth of orphans, and accusing chaste women of adultery. He commanded us to worship Allah alone and not to associate anything with Him. He commanded us to pray, give zakat, and fast. He then enumerated the matters of Islam, so we believed him and believed in him and followed him in what he brought. We worshipped Allah alone and did not associate anything with Him. We forbade what He forbade us and permitted what He permitted us. Then our people transgressed against us, tortured us, and tempted us away from our religion in order to return us to the worship of idols instead of the worship of Allah and to make lawful what we used to consider lawful of filth. When they subdued us, wronged us, made things difficult for us, and prevented us from our religion, we left for your country and chose you over all others. We desired your protection and hoped that we would not be wronged in your presence, O King

. Book of the Beginning of Revelation
4 Yahya bin Bakir narrated to us, he said: Al-Layth narrated to us, on the authority of Aqeel, on the authority of Ibn Shihab, on the authority of Urwah bin Az-Zubayr, on the authority of Aisha, the Mother of the Believers, that she said: The first revelation that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, began with was a good vision in his sleep. He would not see a vision except that it would come like the break of dawn. Then seclusion became beloved to him, and he would seclude himself in the cave of Hira’ and worship there for many nights before he went to his family and provisioned himself for that. Then he would return to Khadija and provision himself for the same number of nights until the truth came to him while he was in the cave of Hira’. The angel came to him and said: Read. He said: I am not a reader. He took me and covered me until I was exhausted, then he released me. He said: Read. I said: I am not a reader. He took me and covered me a second time until I was exhausted, then he released me. He said: Read. I said: I am not a reader. He took me and covered me a third time, then he released me. He said: Read. In the name of your Lord who created. Created man from a clot. Read, and your Lord is the Most Generous. So the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, returned with her, his heart trembling, and he entered upon Khadija, the daughter of... Khuwaylid, may God be pleased with her, said: “Cover me, cover me.” So they covered him until the fear left him. Then he said to Khadija and told her the news: “I feared for myself. ” Khadija said: “No, by God, God will never disgrace you. You maintain family ties, bear burdens, provide for the needy, entertain guests, and help in times of need .

” And God Almighty bore witness to his truthfulness before all of them in His Noble Book, where He said: “And indeed, you are of a great moral character.”

Important addition:

Al-Walid bin Al-Mughira testified to his truthfulness and the truthfulness of the Qur’an.

We read in Al-Bidayah wa Al-Nihayah by Ibn Kathir, may God have mercy on him, Part Four, quoting from Musnad Ishaq bin Rahawayh:
Ishaq bin Rahawayh said: Abd Al-Razzaq told us, on the authority of Muammar, on the authority of Ayoub Al-Sakhtiyani, on the authority of Ikrimah, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, that Al-Walid bin Al-Mughira came to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and recited the Qur’an to him, and it was as if he felt sorry for him. When Abu Jahl heard of that, he came to him and said: O uncle, your people want to collect money for you. He said: Why? He said: To give it to you, for you came to Muhammad to expose what he had before. He said: Quraysh knows that I have the most money. He said: Then say something about him that will tell your people that you deny it. He said: What should I say? By God, there is no man among you who is more knowledgeable about poetry than I am, nor more knowledgeable about its rajaz, nor about its qasida, nor about the poetry of the jinn. By God, the one who says does not resemble anything of this. By God, what he says has sweetness, and it has freshness, and it is fruitful at the top and abundant at the bottom, and it rises and is not surpassed, and it crushes what is beneath it . He said: Your people will not be pleased with you until you say something about it. He said: Then leave me until I think about it. When he thought about it, he said: This is magic that has been passed on; it has been passed on from others. So the verses were revealed: Leave Me and he whom I created alone and for whom I have given abundant wealth and sons as witnesses. [Al-Muddaththir: 11-13] This is how Al-Bayhaqi narrated it on the authority of Al-Hakim on the authority of Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Ali Al-San’ani in Mecca, on the authority of Ishaq. And Hammad bin Zaid narrated it on the authority of Ayoub on the authority of Ikrimah, as a mursal. And in it, he recited to him: “Indeed, Allah commands justice and good conduct and giving to kith and kin and forbids immorality and wrongdoing and oppression. He admonishes you that you may be reminded.” [An-Nahl: 90]

Al-Hakim narrated it in his Mustadrak, Part Two, Book of Interpretation, and he authenticated it, and Al-Dhahabi, may Allah have mercy on him, agreed with him when he said:
“3872 - according to the conditions of Al-Bukhari.” And

Imam Al-Albani, may Allah have mercy on him, mentioned it in his book Sahih Al-Sirah Al-Nabawiyyah, Part 1, p. 158

: “Ishaq bin Rahawayh narrated on the authority of Ibn Abbas: Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and recited the Qur’an to him, and it was as if he felt pity for him. This reached Abu Jahl, so he came to him and said: O uncle, your people want to collect wealth for you. He said: Why? He said: So that they may give it to you, for you came to Muhammad to present what was before him. When he thought about it, he said: This is nothing but magic that is being transmitted from others. Then the following was revealed: “Leave Me and he whom I created alone, and for whom I have given abundant wealth and sons as witnesses.” [Al-Muddaththir: 158] [11-13] Verses: This is how Al-Bayhaqi narrated it on the authority of Al-Hakim on the authority of Ishaq.

John 16:13

But when he, the Spirit of truth , comes , he will guide you into all truth; for he will not speak on his own authority , but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will tell you things to come. Here are other verses that testify to the truthfulness of the truthful and believed one who does not speak from desire. Please review the topics below: The shoe speaks . The height of the building. O Lord, grant us peace! Rain, snow, and greenery in the middle of the Arabian summer!

The testimony of Jubayr ibn Mut’im, may Allah be pleased with him, during his disbelief:

Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of Interpretation of the Qur’an, Surah At-Tur:
4573 Al-Humaidi narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, he said: They narrated to me on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Jubayr ibn Mut’im, on the authority of his father, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: I heard the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, reciting Surat At-Tur in the Maghrib prayer. When he reached this verse: Or were they created by nothing? Or are they the creators? Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain. Or do they have the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the controllers? He said: My heart almost flew. Sufyan said: As for me, I only heard Al-Zuhri narrating on the authority of Muhammad ibn Jubayr ibn Mut’im, on the authority of his father: I heard the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, reciting Surat At-Tur in the Maghrib prayer, and I did not hear him add what they told me.

And likewise the testimony of Anis Al-Ghifari, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding the Qur’an and that it was the reason for his conversion to Islam.

Sahih Muslim, Book of the Virtues of the Companions
4520, Chapter on the Virtues of Abu Dharr, may Allah be pleased with him 2473 Hudab ibn Khalid Al-Azdi narrated to us, Sulayman ibn Al-Mughira narrated to us, Humayd ibn Hilal narrated to us, on the authority of
Abdullah ibn As-Samit, he said: Abu Dharr said: We went out from Our people are Ghifar and they used to observe the sacred month. So my brother Anis and I went out and stayed with our maternal uncle. He honored us and treated us well, so his people envied us and said, “When you leave your family, Anis will go against them.” So our maternal uncle came and told us what was said to him. So I said, “As for your past kindness, you have spoiled it and there will be no intercourse for you in the future.” So we brought our bundle of bread and carried it, and our maternal uncle covered himself with his garment and began to cry. So we set out until we reached the city of Mecca. Anis refused to give up our bundle of bread and something similar to it. So they went to the soothsayer and he chose Anis. So Anis brought us our bundle of bread and something similar to it. He said, “O son of my brother, I prayed three years before I met the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.” I said, “To whom?” He said, “To God.” I said, “Where do you turn?” He said, “I turn where my Lord directs me. I pray the ‘Isha’ prayer, and when it is the last part of the night, I lie down as if I were a shadow until the sun rises above me.” Anis said, “I have a need in Mecca, so suffice me.” So Anis set out until he reached Mecca and looked at me, then he came back. I said, “What have you done?” He said, “I met.” A man in Mecca who follows your religion claims that God sent him. I said, “What do people say?” He said, “They say he is a poet, soothsayer, and magician.” Anis was one of the poets. Anis said, “I have heard the words of the soothsayers, but they are not what they say. I have put his words into the recitations of poetry, and no one after me will agree that it is poetry. By God, he is truthful, and they are liars. ” I said, “Then spare me until I go and look.” I came to Mecca and I weakened one of them. I said, “Where is this one you call the Sabean?” He pointed to me and said, “The Sabean.” The people of the valley attacked me with all their strength and power until I fell unconscious. I rose as if I were a red statue. I went to Zamzam and the blood was washed from me and I drank from its water. O son of my brother, I stayed for thirty nights and days without having any food except the water of Zamzam. I grew fat until my stomach cracked and I did not feel any hunger on my liver. While the people of Mecca were on a moonlit night, their thorns were struck, and no one would circumambulate the House. Two women from them called Isaf and Na’ila. They came. Ali was in their circumambulation, so I said, “Marry one of them to the other.” He said, “They did not stop saying what they said.” He said, “They came to me, so I said, ‘They are like wood, except that I do not use a nickname.’ So they started wailing and saying, ‘If only one of our men were here.’” The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and Abu Bakr met them while they were descending. He said, “What is the matter with you?” They said, “The Sabian is between the Kaaba and its curtains.” He said, “What did he say to you?” They said, “He said to us a word that fills the mouth.” The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, came until he touched the Black Stone and circumambulated the House with his companion, then he prayed
