Characteristics of the Prophet,
The Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - was singled out with many characteristics and rulings, unlike his nation, as an honor and reverence for him. The prophets - may God bless them and grant them peace - shared some of them with him. In this context, we will mention a number of his characteristics - may God bless him and grant him peace - that he was singled out with, unlike the rest of his nation. Among them are:
1- He - may God bless him and grant him peace - is the only one who has the right to fast continuously:
On the authority of Anas - may God be pleased with him - on the authority of the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - he said: “Do not fast continuously.” They said: “You fast continuously.” He said: “I am not like any of you. I am fed and given drink, or I spend the night being fed and given drink.”
Al-Bukhari - Al-Fath (4/238) No. (1961) Book of Fasting Chapter of Continuous Fasting.
Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar - may God have mercy on him - said: “The sum of these hadiths is evidence that fasting continuously is one of his special characteristics - may God bless him and grant him peace - and that others are forbidden from it, except for what is permitted, such as permission to fast until dawn.” Fath al-Bari (4/240).
2- He - may God bless him and grant him peace - was privileged to marry more than four women:
On the authority of Anas bin Malik, he said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, would go around to his wives at one hour during the night and day, and they were eleven. He said: I said to Anas: Was he able to do that? He said: We used to say that he was given the strength of thirty. Saeed said on the authority of Qatada that Anas told them: Nine wives.
Al-Bukhari - Al-Fath (1/449) No. (268) Book of Ablution - Chapter: If he has intercourse and then returns, and if he visits his wives in one ablution.
Al-Shafi’i - may God have mercy on him - said: “The Sunnah of the Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - which is clear from God - indicates that it is not permissible for anyone other than the Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - to have more than four wives at the same time.” Ibn Kathir - may God have mercy on him - said: “What Al-Shafi’i said is agreed upon by scholars.” Tafsir Ibn Kathir (1/460).
3- His special characteristic - may God bless him and grant him peace - is that his eyes sleep but his heart does not:
On the authority of Abu Salamah ibn Abd al-Rahman, that he asked Aisha - may Allah be pleased with her -: How was the prayer of the Messenger of Allah - may Allah bless him and grant him peace - in Ramadan? She said: He did not pray more than eleven rak'ahs in Ramadan or at any other time. He would pray four rak'ahs - do not ask about their beauty and length. Then he would pray three. I said: O Messenger of Allah, do you sleep before praying witr? He said: My eyes sleep but my heart does not sleep .
Al-Bukhari - Al-Fath (6/670) No. (3569) Book of Virtues. Chapter: The eyes of the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - would sleep but his heart would not .
In the narration of Anas bin Malik: (The eyes of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, are asleep, but his heart is not asleep. And so are the prophets, their eyes are asleep, but their hearts are not asleep.) Al-Bukhari - Al-Fath (6/670) No. (3570) Book of Ablution - Chapter: If he has intercourse and then returns, and whoever goes around to his wives in one ablution .
4- His exclusivity - may God bless him and grant him peace - in that lying about him is not like lying about others:
On the authority of Anas - may God be pleased with him - who said: “What prevents me from telling you many hadiths is that the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - said: ‘Whoever deliberately tells a lie about me, let him take his seat in Hellfire .’”
Al-Bukhari - Al-Fath (1/243) No. (108) Book of Knowledge, Chapter on the sin of one who lies about the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace .
On the authority of Ali, he said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Do not lie about me, for whoever lies about me will enter the Fire.” Al-Bukhari - Al-Fath (1/241) Hadith No. (106) Book of Knowledge - Chapter on the sin of whoever lies about the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace .
He, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Lying about me is not like lying about anyone else. Whoever lies about me intentionally, let him take his seat in Hell .”
Narrated by Al-Bukhari - Al-Fath (3/191) No. (1291. Book of Funerals - Chapter on what is disliked about wailing over the dead .
5- His exclusivity - may God bless him and grant him peace - in the obligation to love him:
Allah the Almighty said: {Say: If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your kindred, the wealth you have acquired, commerce in which you fear decline, and dwellings in which you are pleased are dearer to you than Allah and His Messenger and striving in His cause, then wait until Allah brings about His decision. And Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.} (24) Surah At-Tawbah .
Al-Qurtubi - may God Almighty have mercy on him - said: (The verse is evidence of the obligation to love God and His Messenger, and there is no disagreement about that among the nation and that it takes precedence over everything beloved) Al-Jami’ li Ahkam al-Qur’an (8/95 ).
On the authority of Abu Hurairah - may God be pleased with him - that the Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - said: (By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, none of you will have faith until I am more beloved to him than his father and his child.) Al-Bukhari - Al-Fath (1/74-75) No. (14) Book of Faith - Chapter: Love for the Messenger - may God bless him and grant him peace - is part of faith .
On the authority of Anas - may God be pleased with him - who said: The Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - said: “None of you truly believes until I am more beloved to him than his father, his child, and all of mankind.” Previous source No. (15 ).
6- His exclusivity - may God bless him and grant him peace - in the conversion of his companion to Islam:
On the authority of Abdullah bin Masoud - may God be pleased with him - who said: The Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - said: (There is not one of you but that a companion from the jinn is assigned to him.) They said: And you, O Messenger of God? He said: (And me, except that God has helped me against him and he has become Muslim , so he only commands me to do good .)
Sahih Muslim (4/2168) Hadith No. (2814 ).
7- His distinction - may God bless him and grant him peace - is that Satan does not take his form, and that whoever sees him in a dream has truly seen him:
On the authority of Anas - may Allah be pleased with him - who said: The Prophet - may Allah bless him and grant him peace - said: (Whoever sees me in a dream has in fact seen me, for Satan cannot impersonate me, and the dream of a believer is a part of forty-six parts of prophecy). Al-Bukhari - Al-Fath (12/399-400) No. (6994) Book of Interpretation - Chapter: Whoever sees the Prophet - may Allah bless him and grant him peace - in a dream .
8- His special feature - may God bless him and grant him peace - is that he sees behind his back as he sees in front of him:
On the authority of Anas - may God be pleased with him - who said: “The prayer was called, and the Messenger of God turned his face towards us and said: ‘Straighten your rows and stand close together, for I can see you from behind my back .’”
Al-Bukhari - Al-Fath (2/243) Hadith No. (719) Book of the Call to Prayer - Chapter on the Imam Facing the People .
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, who said: “The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, led us in prayer one day, then he turned away and said: ‘O so-and-so, do you not perform your prayer well? Doesn’t the one praying look at how he prays when he prays, for he only prays for himself? By God, I see what is behind me as I see what is in front of me .’”
Sahih Muslim (1/319), Hadith No. (423), Book of Prayer - Chapter on the command to improve and complete prayer and be humble in it .
On the authority of Abu Hurairah - may God be pleased with him - that the Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - said: “Do you see my Qiblah here? By God, neither your bowing nor your prostration is hidden from me; I see you from behind my back.” The previous source, No. (424 ).
9- His special characteristic - may God bless him and grant him peace - is that he hears what people do not hear:
On the authority of Abu Dharr - may God be pleased with him - who said: The Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - said: “I see what you do not see, and I hear what you do not hear. The sky groans, and it is right for it to groan; there is not a space in it the size of four fingers but there is an angel prostrating his forehead to God. By God, if you knew what I know, you would laugh little and cry much. You would not take pleasure in women on your beds, and you would go out to the high places, beseeching God .”
The hadith was narrated by Ahmad in his Musnad, Al-Tirmidhi, and Ibn Majah, and the wording is his. Sheikh Al-Albani - may God have mercy on him - said in “Sahih Ibn Majah”: The hadith is good. See: (Sahih Ibn Majah) (2/407-408) (3387 ).
10- He - may God bless him and grant him peace - was given the choice before his death between this world and the hereafter:
On the authority of Aisha - may God be pleased with her - she said: (I heard the Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - say: “There is no prophet who falls ill but he is given the choice between this world and the Hereafter.” And during the illness in which he passed away, he had a severe hoarseness, so I heard him say: “With those upon whom God has bestowed favor; of the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous.” So I knew that he was given the choice.) Al-Bukhari - Al-Fath (8/103) Hadith No. (4586). Book of Interpretation, Chapter (So those are with those upon whom God has bestowed favor of the prophets ).
11- His exclusivity - may God bless him and grant him peace - that the earth will not consume his noble body, and the presentation of his nation’s prayers for him in his grave:
On the authority of Aws ibn Aws, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, who said: “The best of your days is Friday. On it Adam, peace be upon him, was created, on it he died, on it the trumpet will be blown, and on it the shock will occur. So send much prayers upon me, for your prayers are presented to me.” They said: “O Messenger of God! How are our prayers presented to you when you have decayed?” They said: “They say you have decayed.” He said: “God Almighty has forbidden the earth to consume the bodies of the Prophets, peace be upon them .”
Al-Nasa’i: Chapter: Increasing prayers upon the Messenger - may God bless him and grant him peace - on Friday (3/75), and Imam Ibn Kathir - may God have mercy on him - said: “Some of the imams have authenticated it” (Al-Fusul fi Seerat Al-Rasul) (p. 315 ).
12- His uniqueness - may God bless him and grant him peace - is due to the fragrance of his sweat and the softness of his touch:
On the authority of Anas bin Malik - may God be pleased with him - who said: (The Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - came to us and said (i.e., he took a siesta) with us, so he sweated, and my mother brought a bottle and began to collect the sweat in it, so the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - woke up and said: “O Umm Sulaym, what are you doing?!” She said: This is your sweat, we put it in our perfume, and it is the best perfume) Sahih Muslim (4/1814) Hadith No. (2331) Book of Virtues - Chapter on the perfume of the Prophet’s sweat - may God bless him and grant him peace .
On the authority of Anas, he said: “The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, had a radiant complexion, as if his sweat were pearls. When he walked, he would walk with a swaying hand. I have never touched brocade or silk softer than the hand of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, nor have I smelled musk or ambergris more fragrant than the scent of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.” Sahih Muslim (4/1814), No. (2330) Book of Virtues - Chapter on the pleasant scent of the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace .
13- His special status - may God bless him and grant him peace - is that he will be buried in the place where he died:
On the authority of Aisha, may God be pleased with her, she said: “When the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, passed away, they differed about his burial. Abu Bakr said: I heard something from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, that I have not forgotten. He said: ‘God does not take the soul of a prophet except in the place in which He loves to be buried.’ So they buried him in the place of his bed.” Sahih al-Tirmidhi by al-Albani (1/298). See also: Ahkam al-Jana’iz by al-Albani (pp. 137-138 ).
14- His exclusivity - may God bless him and grant him peace - in that God Almighty protected him from people:
Allah the Almighty said: {O Messenger, announce that which has been revealed to you from your Lord. And if you do not, then you have not conveyed His message. And Allah will protect you from the people.} (67) Surah Al-Ma’idah. Al-Qurtubi - may Allah have mercy on him - said: “Its meaning is that he did not show the conveyance, because in the beginning of Islam he used to hide it for fear of the polytheists, then he was commanded to show it in this verse, and Allah informed him that He would protect him from the people.” Al-Jami’ li Ahkam Al-Quran (6/242). On the authority of Jabir ibn Abdullah, may God be pleased with them both, he said: “We went on a raid with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, before Najd. We caught up with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, in a valley with many thorny trees. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, dismounted under a tree and hung his sword on one of its branches. The people dispersed in the valley to seek shade under the trees. He said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: ‘A man came to me while I was sleeping and took the sword. I woke up and he was standing over my head. I did not realize anything until the sword was drawn in his hand. He said to me: Who will protect you from me? I said: God. He said: So he grabbed the sword and here he is sitting. ’ Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, did not approach him.” -May Allah's prayers and peace be upon him-). Sahih Muslim (4/1786) Hadith No. (843) Book of Virtues: Chapter on his trust in Allah - the Most High - and Allah's protection of him from people. Ibn Hajar said in "Al-Fath": ((And it is taken from the Bedouin's recourse to him in speech that Allah - the Most High - prevented his Prophet - may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him - from him, otherwise he would have needed to recourse to him while he needed to gain favor with his people by killing him, and in the Prophet's saying - may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him - in his answer ((Allah)), meaning He prevents me from you, is an indication of that) Fath Al-Bari (7/492 ).
15- His exclusive right - may God bless him and grant him peace - to marry without a guardian or witnesses:
On the authority of Aisha - may God be pleased with her - she said: He - may God bless him and grant him peace - said: (There is no marriage except with a guardian and two witnesses). Al-Albani said: It is authentic (Irwa’ al-Ghaleel) (6/258 ).
The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was unique among his nation in these two rulings. God Almighty permitted him to marry without a guardian or witnesses, as an honor and a tribute to him, because there was no need for that in his case, may God bless him and grant him peace .
Scholars said: “The guardian is considered in the marriage of a female slave to preserve compatibility, and he, may God bless him and grant him peace, is above all others. The witnesses are considered to avoid denial, and he, may God bless him and grant him peace, does not deny.” Nadhrat al-Na’im (1/508 ).
The proof of this ruling in his right is in the hadith of Zainab bint Jahsh - may God be pleased with her - that she used to boast to the wives of the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - and say: (Your families married you, and God - the Most High - married me from above seven heavens) Al-Bukhari with Al-Fath, Hadith No. (7420) (13/415), Book of Monotheism - Chapter: And His Throne was over the water - and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne .
16- His exclusivity - may God bless him and grant him peace - is that whoever belittles him is an unbeliever:
The evidence from the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and the consensus of the Ummah has come together to clarify and explain what rights are due to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and what is required of him in terms of righteousness, reverence, honor, and glorification. For this reason, Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, has forbidden harming him in His Book, and the Ummah has agreed to kill those who belittle and insult him. Allah, the Most High, said: {Indeed, those who abuse Allah and His Messenger - Allah has cursed them in this world and the Hereafter and has prepared for them a humiliating punishment.} (57) Surah Al-Ahzab .
And He, the Most High, said: {And those who harm the Messenger of God will have a painful punishment} (61) Surah At-Tawbah .
Whoever belittles the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, or curses him, or finds fault with him, or attributes to him a deficiency in his person, lineage, religion, or any of his characteristics, or exposes him or likens him to something in a way that insults him, or disparages him, or belittles him, or belittles him or finds fault with him, then he is to be killed as an unbeliever ( 1 ) . The evidence for that is :
% What Abu Dawood and Al-Nasa’i narrated on the authority of Ibn Abbas - may God be pleased with them - that a blind man had a slave girl who used to curse the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - and slander him, so he would forbid her but she would not stop, and he would reprimand her but she would not stop. He said: One night she began to attack the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and curse him, so he took the maghol (a short sword) and put it in her stomach, and leaned on her and killed her, and a child fell between her legs, and she stained everything there with blood. When morning came, this was mentioned to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so he gathered the people and said: “I ask Allah for a man who did what he did, and I have a right over him, to stand up.” So he stood up. The blind man stepped over the people, shaking, until he sat in front of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he said: O Messenger of Allah, I am her master. She used to curse you and attack you, so I forbade her but she did not stop, and I reprimanded her but she did not desist, and I have two sons from her who are like The two pearls, and she was a companion to me, and last night she began to curse you and attack you, so I took the sword and put it in her stomach, and leaned on her until I killed her, so the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - said: (Do you not bear witness that her blood is forfeit) Sunan Abi Dawud (4361) and Al-Nasa’i (7/107-108), and Al-Albani authenticated it in “Sahih Abi Dawud” No. (3666 ).
It was narrated on the authority of Abu Barzah Al-Aslami, who said: A man spoke harshly to Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq. Abu Barzah said: Shall I not strike his neck? Abu Bakr rebuked him and said: This is not for anyone after the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace .
Narrated by Ahmad, and authenticated by Ahmad Shakir, Al-Musnad (1/55 ).
See the details of this in the valuable book “Al-Sarim Al-Maslul ‘ala Shatim Al-Rasul” by Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah - may God have mercy on him.
17- His exclusivity - may God bless him and grant him peace - is that he is not inherited from, and what he left behind is charity:
The Prophets - may God’s prayers and peace be upon them - are God’s ambassadors to His servants and the bearers of His revelation. Their mission is to convey God’s messages to His servants, call to God, reform and purify souls, correct deviant thought and false beliefs, establish proof and govern the nation. Their job was not to store money or pass on heritage, but rather they passed on knowledge, law, and a message to the people. This is their inheritance, and it is the best inheritance ( 2 ) . The evidence for this is the saying of the Messenger - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - “We do not leave any inheritance, what we leave is charity.” Al-Bukhari with Al-Fath, No. (6730) (12/8) Book of Inheritance - Chapter on the saying of the Prophet - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - “We do not leave any inheritance, what we leave is charity . ”
This is an important characteristic of his - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - and also of the prophets - peace be upon them - and this is unique to him and not to his nation - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - that he does not inherit, and that what he leaves behind is charity. Nadhrat al-Na’im (1/516 ).
18- His specialization - may God bless him and grant him peace - in removing the devil’s share from him:
On the authority of Anas bin Malik, “Gabriel came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, while he was playing with the boys. He seized him, wrestled him to the ground, split open his heart, and extracted the heart from it, extracting a clot from it. He said: This is the devil’s share of you. Then he washed it in a golden basin with Zamzam water, then he gathered it (i.e., he gathered and joined some of it together) and put it back in its place. The boys came running to his mother (meaning his wet nurse), who was the wet nurse, and they said: Muhammad has been killed. They met him while his color was pale. Anas said: I could see the mark of that stitch on his chest.” Sahih Muslim, Book of Faith, Chapter on the Night Journey of the Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - Hadith No. (162) (1/145 ).
19- His special characteristic - may God bless him and grant him peace - is that he should not have treacherous eyes:
On the authority of Anas bin Malik in a long hadith, he said: O Abu Hamza, did you fight with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace? He said: Yes, I fought with him in the Battle of Hunayn, and the polytheists came out and attacked us until we saw our horses behind their backs, and among the people there was a man who attacked us, crushing and smashing us, so Allah defeated them, and they began to bring them so that they would pledge allegiance to him on Islam, and a man from the companions of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: (I have vowed that if Allah brings the man who has been crushing us since today, I will strike off his head, so the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was silent, and the man was brought, and when he saw the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, he said: O Messenger of Allah, I repent to Allah, so the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, held back and did not pledge allegiance to him so that the other would fulfill his vow. He said: So the man began to confront the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, to order him to kill him, and he began to fear the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that He killed him. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw that he would not do anything, he pledged allegiance to him. The man said: O Messenger of Allah, my vow. He said: “I have not refrained from it since today except to fulfill your vow.” The man said: O Messenger of Allah, why didn’t you nod to me? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “It is not for a prophet to nod” – meaning to gesture with the eye and indicate with it. Narrated by Abu Dawud in his Sunan, Book of Funerals, Chapter: The Imam should stand up from the dead after praying over him. No. (3194) and authenticated by Al-Albani in As-Silsilah As-Saheehah (4/301 ).
20- His exclusivity - may God bless him and grant him peace - is that whoever the Messenger of God curses, then that will be a means of drawing closer to him:
On the authority of Abu Hurairah - may God be pleased with him - that he heard the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - say: “O God, if I insult a believer, make that a means of drawing closer to You on the Day of Resurrection.” Al-Bukhari - Al-Fath (11/175) No. (6361) Book of Supplications - Chapter on the saying of the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - “If I harm someone, make that a means of purification and mercy for him . ”
21- He - may God bless him and grant him peace - is the only one who is forbidden to give charity - may God bless him and grant him peace - and to his family - may God bless him and grant him peace.
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, who said: Al-Hasan ibn Ali, may God be pleased with them both, took a date from the charity dates and put it in his mouth. The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Kikh, Kikh,” in order to throw it away. Then he said: “ Didn’t you realize that we do not eat charity?” Al-Bukhari with Al-Fath (3/414), Hadith No. (1491), Book of Zakat, Chapter on What is Mentioned about Charity .
22- His special characteristic - may God bless him and grant him peace - is that he does not eat onions, garlic, or legumes that give off an unpleasant odor:
Al-Bukhari said: Saeed bin Ufair told us: Ibn Wahb told us, on the authority of Yunus, on the authority of Ibn Shihab: Ata’ claimed that Jabir bin Abdullah claimed that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Whoever eats garlic or onions, let him keep away from us.” Or he said: “Let him keep away from our mosque and stay in his house.” And that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was brought a pot of green vegetables and he found that they had an odor, so he asked and was told what vegetables were in them, so he said: “Bring them near” - to some of his companions who were with him - and when he saw him, he disliked eating them. He said: “Eat, for I am conversing with someone with whom you do not converse.” Al-Bukhari - Al-Fath (2/395) No. (855) Book of the Call to Prayer. Chapter: What was said about garlic and onions .
23- His exclusivity - may God bless him and grant him peace - that it is not permissible to marry his wives after his death.
God Almighty said: {And it is not for you to harm the Messenger of God or to marry his wives after him, ever . Indeed, that would be in the sight of God an enormity.} (53) Surah Al-Ahzab .
And because God Almighty said: { And his wives are their mothers } (6) Surah Al-Ahzab. So it is not permissible for a man to marry his mother, and knowledge is with God. Refer to: the book “Kashf Al-Ghummah bi-Bayan Khasais Rasool Allah wa’l-Ummah”: written by/Abu Al-Hasan Al-Maribi, p. 318 .
24- He - may God bless him and grant him peace - is the only one permitted to seek blessings from his hair and noble saliva.
On the authority of Anas - may Allah be pleased with him - who said: When the Messenger of Allah - may Allah bless him and grant him peace - threw the pebbles at the Jamarat, performed his sacrifice, and shaved his head, he gave the barber his right side, so he shaved it. Then he called Abu Talha al-Ansari and gave it to him. Then he gave him his left side and said: (Shave), so he shaved it. Then he gave it to Abu Talha, who said: (Divide it among the people). Al-Bukhari (1/328) Book of Ablution - Chapter on the water with which one washes one’s hair (170-171), and Muslim (1305) (2/947) Book of Hajj - Chapter on explaining that the Sunnah on the Day of Sacrifice is to throw the pebbles, then slaughter, then shave, and not to start shaving with the right side of the head of the one being shaved.
I have brought it to you from the writings of scholars seeking reward and recompense.
