The word غزوث in reality indicates the descent of water from the sky. The word العصر in reality indicates grape juice. Because what is common among people in the era is grapes. The author directs criticism at the real meaning of rain falling, and he did not direct criticism at grape juice. The word غزوث came in reality, such as: “So the rain was withheld, and there was no rain” [Jeremiah 3:3], and it came metaphorically, such as: “That I may know how to help the weary” [Isaiah 50:4]. As for the metaphor, the doubt is negated. As for the reality, this is the objector’s purpose, and he is biased in that.
This is because the whole matter is outside the norm. The explanation of its departure from the norm: The period is fifteen years. Seven hard years eat seven fat ones, or: seven fat ones eat seven lean ones. And the last year brings little good. And what is appropriate for the little good is the falling of rain. And the little water is enough to irrigate the grapes and fruits in Places of its cultivation, and sufficient to grow wheat whose seed will be seed for the coming years in which the Nile water will be abundant. This is not unlikely in the mind. How can it be a doubt?
As for the pressing. It is in reality like: "So I took the grapes and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and the cup was put into the hand of the wrathful" [Genesis 40:11], and it is metaphorical like: "And he cast him into the winepress of wrath" [Revelation 14:19].
If the pressing is proven, and the Nile water does not exist, then how did the plant live and survive? And in the seven lean years, the ears of wheat came out of the ground in a thin way. How did they come out thin and the Nile does not irrigate the lands?
It must be said that there is a source of water other than the Nile. Either wells or springs, or rain. In Pharaoh’s dream: “And behold, seven ears of grain came up on one stalk, chubby and good. And behold, seven thin ears, scorched by the east wind, sprung up after them” [Genesis 41:5-6], and he repeated the words and said in it: “sprouted after them” [Genesis 41:23]. How can they be sprung up when the Nile water has no canals?
