Frequent lightning strikes at the end of time, between a harbinger of climate change and a warning of the approaching end of time

Frequent lightning strikes are a harbinger of climate change and a warning of the approaching end of time.

Allah the Almighty said : “It is He who shows you the lightning, causing fear and hope, and produces the heavy clouds. And the thunder exalts [Allah] with praise of Him, and the angels [as well] for fear of Him. And He sends thunderbolts and strikes with them whom He wills while they dispute about Allah
, and He is severe in penalty.” (Ar-Ra`d: 12-13). Ibn Kathir said in his interpretation: “That is, He sends them as a punishment with which He takes vengeance on whomever He wills, and that is why they will increase in frequency at the end of time.” Ibn Kathir narrated about the reason for the revelation of the verse what Al-Hafiz Abu Ya’la Al-Mawsili narrated on the authority of Anas bin Malik, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, once sent a man to a man from the Pharaohs of the Arabs, and said: “Go and call him for me.” He said: O Messenger of God, he is more stubborn than that. He said: “Go and call him for me.” He said: So he went to him and said: The Messenger of God calls you. He said: And what is God? Is he of gold, silver, or copper? He said: So he returned to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and informed him, and said: I have told you that he is more stubborn than that, he said to me such and such, so he said: “Go back to him a second time and call him,” so he returned to him, and he repeated the same words to him as before, so he returned to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and informed him, so he said: “Go back to him,” so he returned a third time and repeated those words to him, and while he was talking to me, a cloud was sent towards him in front of his head, and it thundered and a lightning bolt fell from it and took away the skull of his head, so God Almighty revealed: “And He sends down thunderbolts and strikes with them whom He wills while they dispute about God, and He is severe in penalty.”
Ibn Abbas said in the narration of Abu Salih, Ibn Jurayj and Ibn Zayd: This verse and the one before it were revealed about Amir bin At-Tufayl and Arbad bin Rabi’ah. They came towards the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and one of his companions said: O Messenger of Allah, here is Amir bin At-Tufayl coming towards you. He said: “Leave him, for Allah will guide him.” So he came until he stood over him, and he said: O Muhammad, what will I have if I become Muslim? He said: “You will have what the Muslims have and you will be responsible for what they are responsible for.” He said: Will you make me the ruler after you? He said: “No, that is not up to me, it is up to Allah to make him as He wills.” He said: So you make me ride on the hair and you ride on the mud? He said: “No.” He said: Then what will you make for me? He said: “I will make you the reins of the horses to fight on.” He said: Is that not up to me today? He had advised Arbad bin Rabi’ah, “If you see me talking to him, go behind him and strike him with the sword.” So he began to argue with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and argue with him. Arbad went behind the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, to strike him, but he drew a span of his sword, then God Almighty detained him and he was unable to draw it. Aamer kept signaling to him, so the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, turned and saw Arbad and what he was doing with his sword, so he said, “O God, protect me from them however You will.” So God Almighty sent a thunderbolt upon Arbad one summer day, and he cried out and burned him, and Aamer turned and fled and said, “O Muhammad, I called upon your Lord and he killed Arbad, and by God I will fill it against you with purebred horses and young men.” The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “God Almighty will prevent you from that, and so will the sons of Qaylah” - meaning the Aws and Khazraj - so Amer went down to the house of a woman from Salul. When morning came, he put his weapon on him and went out saying: By Al-Lat and Al-Uzza, if Muhammad and his companion - meaning the Angel of Death - come to me in the morning, I will pierce them with my spear. When God Almighty saw that from him, He sent an angel who slapped him with his wings and scattered him in the dust. A huge lump came out of his knee at that time, like a camel’s lump. He returned to the house of the Salul and he said: A lump like a camel’s lump and death in the house of the Salul. Then he died on the back of his horse, and God Almighty revealed this story about him:“It is the same among you whether you conceal your speech or declare it aloud.” Until he reached “And the supplication of the disbelievers is not but in error.”

This is included in the statement of Allah the Almighty in Surat Al- Ra’d: “And those who disbelieve will continue to be struck by a calamity because of what they have done, or it will descend near their home, until the promise of Allah comes to pass. Indeed, Allah does not fail in His promise.” (Al-Ra’d: 31), as Ibn Kathir - may Allah have mercy on him - narrated on the authority of Ibn Abbas - may Allah be pleased with him - that he said: “A calamity will strike them because of what they have done,” meaning: a punishment from the sky sent down upon them. Al-Qurtubi - may Allah have mercy on him - said: “A calamity will strike them suddenly because of their disbelief and their rebellion.” It is said: “Qara’a” means something that befalls him, and the plural is “Qawaari’.” The root of “Qara’” is “darab,” meaning that the disbelievers will continue to be struck by a devastating calamity from Lightning strike as it struck Irbid or killed or captured or caused drought, or other torment and calamity. Thunderbolt is an electrical discharge between the base of a thundercloud (cumulonimbus) with a negative electrical charge and the surface of the Earth with a positive electrical charge. It is strange that the width of lightning is less than 2.5 centimeters while its length is about 50 kilometers, and when it occurs it leads to raising the temperature of the atmosphere it penetrates to more than 30,000 degrees Celsius, which leads to the expansion of the gas tremendously, creating a tremendous, resounding sound that reverberates between the neighboring clouds, turning into thunder.

A negatively charged lightning bolt carries 30 kiloamperes, transferring five coulombs and 500 joules of energy. Severe lightning bolts can carry 120 amperes and 350 coulombs, and the voltage is proportional to the length of the bolt. A positively charged lightning bolt carries 300 amperes of electrical energy, which is ten times the average negatively charged lightning bolt.

Satellites detect about 100 lightning flashes per second, at an annual rate of 1.4 billion flashes per year, 80% of which occur within clouds, and 20% between the cloud and the ground, which is known as thunderbolts. Based on information obtained from NASA satellites on the spatial density of lightning flashes globally during the period 1995-2002, which is shown in Map No. (), it is clear that lightning flashes occur on the surface of land at a greater density than on the surfaces of oceans; this is due to the lower specific heat of land surfaces compared to oceans, which results in heating the air in contact and the subsequent air updrafts, thunderstorms and lightning flashes.

Frequent lightning strikes are a harbinger of climate change and a warning of the approaching end of time.
The maps also show that 70% of the flashes occur in the tropics, and the frequency varies from place to place. The highest, near the village of Kifuka in the eastern mountains of the Democratic Republic of the Congo - 975 meters above sea level - receives 158 lightning strikes per square kilometer per year. In the upper Catatumbo River in Venezuela, lightning strikes 140-160 nights a year. In the United States, central Florida leads the way, with the Tampa area - known as Lightning Alley - hitting at a rate of 50 strikes per square mile.
A recent study showed that Brazil, which is located in the tropics, is the most lightning-struck country in the world. Osmar Pinto, a researcher at the Atmospheric Electricity Group, which partnered with the Brazilian Institute for Space Studies to map lightning using satellite data, said that Brazil is struck by 70 million lightning strikes a year, or two or three per second. About 100 people die each year in Brazil from lightning strikes. These incidents account for one-tenth of the total worldwide lightning -related deaths. Lightning also causes $200 million in damage each year.
Statistics show that lightning deaths in the United States are the highest among natural disasters, with between 100 and 600 deaths each year, and between 1,000 and 1,500 people being seriously injured each year. Most of the deaths occur among males between the ages of 15 and 44. The losses were particularly concentrated in the South and Midwest, particularly Florida and Texas. Statistics from Cambodia’s National Committee for Disaster Management indicate that 93 people were killed in lightning storms last year, more than double the 45 killed in 2007. The deputy chairman of the committee said that the reasons for the high annual lightning death toll are unclear, but that climate change may be a factor.
The frequent occurrence of lightning strikes at the end of time is what the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) informed us of in more than one hadeeth. It was narrated on the authority of Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “ Lightning strikes will increase as the Hour approaches , until a man will come to a people and say: ‘Who was struck by lightning before you this morning?’ They will say: ‘So-and-so and so-and-so were struck by lightning.’” Musnad Ahmad (3/65).
Al-Hakim narrated it in his “Mustadrak” with this chain of narration, and its wording is: He said: “ Lightning strikes will increase as the Hour approaches , and people will come in the morning and say: ‘Who was struck by lightning last night?’ They will say: ‘So-and-so and so-and-so were struck by lightning.’” Musnad Ahmad (3/65). It was narrated on the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that he said: “Soon you will not find houses to shelter you, which will be destroyed by earthquakes, nor animals to ride on during your travels, which will be destroyed by lightning strikes.” Narrated by Na’eem ibn Hammad in “al-Fitan.” There is no doubt that the warning of frequent lightning strikes before the Hour It hints at the climate changes that will occur on planet Earth, the signs of which appeared during the first decade of this century. The Russian news agency Novosti reported that the temperature recorded an absolute record in the Russian capital this year when it rose to 37.2 degrees Celsius, while the previous absolute record of 36.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in 1920.
The Presidency of Meteorology in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia also recorded another record in the city of Mecca, when temperatures rose to 50 degrees Celsius in the shade, while they recorded 60 degrees Celsius under the sun. The believer worships his Lord out of fear and hope : {And among His signs is that He shows you the lightning, causing fear (24)}. He fears lightning like a thunderbolt and hopes for it like a rain cloud. Such phenomena and others remind him of the remembrance of God. God Almighty said: {And the thunder exalts [Allah] with praise of Him, and so do the angels for fear of Him (13)}. In that lies the secret of salvation, as Al-Tabarani narrated on the authority of Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with him, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “If you hear thunder, remember God, for it does not strike one who remembers.” Al-Awza’i said: Ibn Abi Zakariya used to say: Whoever says when he hears thunder, “Glory be to God and His praise,” will not be struck by lightning.
Perhaps the large number of people struck by lightning at the end of time is due to the small number of those who remember Allah, as the Hour will not come except upon the worst of creation, and as there will be no one on earth who remembers Allah, as narrated by Imam Muslim in his Sahih on the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: " The Hour will not come until it is no longer said on earth: Allah, Allah." Imam Ahmad also narrated in his Musnad on the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said : "Your Lord, the Almighty, said: If My servants obeyed Me, I would have given them rain at night, caused the sun to rise upon them during the day, and would not have made them hear the sound of thunder." Narrated by Ahmad and authenticated by Al-Hakim, and Al-Dhahabi agreed with him.
