Mount Judi or Ararat: Noah's Ark between the Qur'an and the Bible

In the name of Allah, and praise be to Allah, and there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest, and there is no power or strength except with Allah.

Praise be to Allah, abundant and good praise, and I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and that Muhammad - the Prophet of Mercy - is His servant and Messenger, the ear of goodness that received the last heavenly message to guide the earth, and the tongue of truth that conveyed the truth’s desire from creation.

We begin with what came in Genesis 8:
And the ark came to rest in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat .

The Book of Genesis says that the ship came to rest on (the mountains) of Ararat , not (Mount) Ararat .

If we search in the encyclopedia Wikipedia for the mountains of Ararat , we find the following:
It has two peaks: Greater Ararat (the tallest peak in Turkey, and the entire Armenian plateau with an elevation of 5,137 m/16,854 ft) and Lesser Ararat (with an elevation of 3,896 m/12,782 ft).

He says that there are two peaks emerging from the same base of the mountain,
one of which is called ( Greater Ararat ) and the other is called ( Lesser Ararat )

So let's assume that the meaning of the mountains of Ararat as a collective could be these two peaks, and I will rely on this basis in this research.
But after scientists found Noah's Ark on Mount Judi , they invented new meanings for (Mountains of Ararat ) to save face.
We will return to this point later, God willing. The Holy Quran

says: And

Click on image for larger view. Name: image.png Views: 165 Size: 4.6 KB ID: 839074 it was said,
"O earth, swallow your water, and O sky, withhold (your rain)." And the water subsided, and the matter was accomplished, and the ship came to rest on Al- Judi. And it was said, " Away with the wrongdoing people!"
[Hud: 44]

Here the Quran says that the ship came to rest on Al-Judi after God ordered the earth to swallow the water and ordered the sky to stop the rain.

But what is the meaning of the word ( Al-Judi ) ?

Imam Sheikh Muhammad Metwally Al-Shaarawy says that the word ( Al-Judi ) is the name of a mountain.

So the Qur’an says that Noah’s Ark came to rest on Mount Judi , and the Bible says that the Ark came to rest on one of the two peaks of Mount Ararat . So did the Ark come to rest on Mount Judi or on Mount Ararat ? Which is more truthful and which is a revelation from God, the Qur’an or the Bible ?

There is no doubt that every trend must be convinced of the literal meaning of what is stated in its holy book , whether they are Muslims, Christians or even Jews, regarding the place where Noah's Ark settled, whether it was Mount Judi or Mount Ararat .

There have been many attempts to search for Noah's Ark on Mount Ararat :

1- In 1829, Friedrich Parrott, a professor of philosophy at the University of Dorpat, climbed Mount Ararat in search of the Ark and was considered the first person in modern times to do so. Parrott did not see the Ark, but he said, "The Ark may be buried under layers of ice at the top of the mountain."
Dr. Friedrich Parrot, with the help of Khachatur Abovian, was the first explorer in modern times to reach the summit of Mount Ararat,

Dr. Parrot did not claim to actually see the ark. The best he could suggest was that the ark might be buried under ice and snow on the saddle between the double peak. Considering that the ice is 300 feet thick

2- He was followed in the same vein by the historian and professor at Oxford University, James Bryce, in 1876. He found only a piece of wood at the top of the mountain, and Bryce had a special idea about how that piece of wood could have reached the mountain.
On this trip, he found wood on Great Ararat although he did not make a huge deal about it as he had a private idea about how it could have arrived on the mountain.

3- In 1982, former astronaut James Irwin led a new expedition to Mount Ararat to search for Noah's Ark , but he did not find anything. Climbing the mountain was very difficult, as he fell in the icy area and was injured in the face and leg. He described the difficulty of climbing Mount Ararat, saying, "It is easier for me to walk on the surface of the moon. I have done everything I can, but the ship continues to elude us."
On two occasions he led expeditions to Mount Ararat in Turkey in search of Noah's Ark. In 1982, he reached the 16,946-foot summit but fell on the glacier, suffering severe leg and face lacerations. He had to be carried down on horseback. A year later, he surveyed the summit by air, looking down for possible remains of the Ark, which, according to the Book of Genesis, came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. “It's easier to walk on the moon,” he said. "I've done all I possibly can, but the Ark continues to elude us."

4- Since 1982, dozens of people have climbed Mount Ararat , but they have failed to find anything.
Because of Soviet complaints that explorers were spying, the region was off limits until 1982. Since then, scores of climbers have scaled the mountain but failed to substantiate what the object is.

In 1997, the US government released photographs taken by the Air Force in 1949, which some believed showed the ice-covered area of Mount Ararat. The photographs are said to be kept in a government file called the "Ararat Anomaly". However, experts consider the images unconvincing.
In 1997 the US government released images taken by its Air Force in 1949 that were believed by some to show a structure covered by ice on Mount Ararat. These photographs had reportedly been kept in a government file labeled “Ararat Anomaly.” However, experts deemed the images inconclusive

For years, a wealthy businessman named Daniel McGivern had failed to take satellite photos of Mount Ararat. In the summer of 2003, he hired a commercial still-image satellite called DigitalGlobe to try again. This time, a heat wave that hit Europe that year had partially melted the snow cap on the mountain’s summit.

McGivern claimed that the new images showed a large structure buried in the mountain, with two vertical beams and one horizontal beam. He said he was 98 percent certain that the structure was the ship.
Most experts, however, were skeptical. They said the structure in the photos could easily be a rock formation, and that some of the images were unscientific and unclear .
“ It’s very easy to get something that looks like it’s man-made [in these images], but once you get there, it turns out it’s nothing,” says Loris Collins, a retired geology professor at California State University, Northridge, and an expert on geological images. “It’s just wishful thinking [to the idea that Noah’s Ark is still on top of Ararat].”

5- A large number of expeditions have tried in the past 60 years to find the remains of the ship inside the glaciers on Mount Ararat at an altitude of more than 5000 meters / 15000 feet. Time and time again, there have been reports of wooden structures still under the ice, but nothing has been proven for sure. Some researchers are now assuming that no one has been able to find anything, because the searches were conducted in the wrong location .

6- The geological researcher, John Morris, says: A lot of information has been collected during the past 40 years that indicates that the remains of Noah's Ark may be found on Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey. So, teams were sent to the Ararat Mountains... to try to discover the location of the Ark, but so far nothing has been successful... Some possible sites and claims have been examined and refuted (failed).
Much information has been gathered over the last 40 years or so which indicates that the remains of Noah's Ark may still exist on Mt. Ararat in eastern Turkey. Numerous expeditions, including many which I have personally lead, [sic] have attempted to discover the Ark's whereabouts, but to date none have been completely successful. Some possible sites and claims have been checked out and disproved

Unfortunately, there are two individuals who feel otherwise (they feel they have found the ark) and are promoting the site as the remains of Noah's Ark. They have no geological or archaeological training, and in their investigations they both used methods that are not reliable in combining their data. Furthermore, they have not allowed others to see their data.

Unfortunately, there are two individuals which feel otherwise, and promote the site as the remains of Noah's Ark. Neither have geologic or archaeologic training, and in their investigations both have used methods which are not reliable in gathering their data. Moreover, they have not allowed others to see their data, preferring instead to make statements about the data only. Both can give convincing talks on the subject, and both have written books describing their experiences (not their data), but to my knowledge, all who have critically evaluated the site and/or the methods and reports of the two advocates are convinced that both are mistaken. In fact, many of their claims are in direct conflict with the facts I and others have gathered at the site

So he ends his talk by saying:
Until then, the search will continue as it leads and allows, with several efforts being planned for the summer of 1990. Christians ask for prayers for the preparation, funding, safety and success of these efforts, and that hearts will respond once the ship is lowered.

7- Dr. Charles Wells led four expeditions to explore Mount Ararat , however, the results of his trips to this mountain - in addition to years of research in historical sources - said that Ararat is not Noah's mountain and is not the mountain on which the ship settled.
A veteran explorer to the region and a neuropsy chiatrist by trade, Willis has led four expeditions up Mt. Ararat, the traditional site of the landing of Noah's Ark. Yet, the results of his investigation on that mountain, as well as years of research into historical sources, suggested to him that Ararat is not the mountain of Noah or the Ark

We conclude from the above that all attempts to find Noah's Ark on Mount Ararat have failed.

Some of their scholars said that what is meant by the Ararat Mountains is the mountains of a kingdom that existed in this region called the Kingdom of (Ararat)...and that this is what is meant by the biblical text. They also said that any mountain that is present within the Kingdom of Ararat will be called (Ararat Mountains) whatever its name is. After the scholars found Noah's Ark on Mount Judi, they said that Mount Judi was located within the Kingdom of Ararat and therefore it is a mountain of the Ararat Mountains.
Therefore - and before we review the scientific research published on foreign websites regarding Noah's Ark and its discovery - we will take some information about Mount Ararat, the Ararat region, the Ararat tribes, and the Kingdom of Ararat from a geographical and historical perspective, to know when this kingdom was established, when it ended, what its geographical borders are, and when the Ararat tribes became a kingdom. As for Mount Judi, on which the Ark was found, was it actually part of the Kingdom of Ararat and located within it or not, and was it a mountain of the Ararat mountains or not, in order to know whether this justification has any validity or is it just a justification devoid of validity.

* ) First, regarding the historical aspect: -

The Noah's Ark Search website says:
From Assyrian ####s, Urartu is known to have existed from about the late 13th century BC to the 9th century BC as a loose federation of tribes near Lake Van and the Araxes river, and thus near the traditional Mount Ararat (Agri Dagh

It was stated on the website memedu.dk
From Assyrian ####s, Urartu is known to have existed from about the late 13th century BC to the 9th century BC as a loose federation of tribes. However, if one takes a conservative view of Moses writing Genesis in the 15th century BC rather than the 13th century BC, then Urartu would have been known even in that era. The Urartian Kingdom existed from the 9th century BC until the 6th century BC when it was destroyed by the Medes and vanished from history, only to be rediscovered in the archeology of the late 1800s and early 1900s. Thus there exists the possibility of a mis-interpretation of Genesis by post-Christian writers and Armenians restricting the Ark's landfall to the smaller Araxes valley area including Mount Ararat rather than the larger Urartian region or "mountains of Urartu" as described by Moses in Genesis . However, some of this is speculation since there are no cross-references in 15th century BC writing so no one really knows exactly where Moses was referring to when he stated that the ark came to rest on the “mountains of rrt”.

The site says that Moses wrote the Book of Genesis in the 15th century BC while the tribes of Ararat existed in this place in the 13th century BC, meaning that Moses wrote the Book of Genesis 200 years before the existence of these tribes!!!!
It continues by saying that the region of Ararat became a kingdom from the 9th century BC to the 6th century BC until it was destroyed by the Medes and completely erased from history until it was rediscovered by archaeology in the late 19th century to the early 20th century.
In the end, this site concludes that Moses is not the writer of the current Torah when he said
no one really knows exactly where Moses was referring to when he stated that the ark came to rest on the "mountains of rrt".

Either Moses was not the author of Genesis, or no one really knows exactly what Moses was referring to when he stated that the ark landed on the “mountains of Ararat,” because when Moses wrote Genesis these mountains did not yet exist. Either no one knows what Moses meant when he said this, or it was not actually Moses who wrote the books of the Torah that are falsely and slanderously attributed to him in the Bible that we have today .

It came on the swau.edu website
Ararat was the Hebrew version of the name, not of the mountain but the country around it, the old Armenian homeland, whose name at other times and in other tongues appears variously as Erirath, Urartu, etc. The prophet Jeremiah (LI,27), writing in 600 BC speaks of 'the kingdom of Ararat,' which kingdom at that time called itself Urartu. Hence, the 'Mountains of Ararat' may mean any part of the tangled mountain mass of the country. The Armenians never called the colossus of the range, Ararat; to them that mighty peak was 'Masis

The site says that the Kingdom of Ararat was mentioned by the Prophet Jeremiah, and any mountains in this kingdom are called the Ararat Mountains.
Click on image for larger view. Name: image.png Views: 162 Size: 360.4 KB ID: 839087
At the time Moses wrote Genesis, Agri Dagh was not within the kingdom of Ararat (Urartu), but the area containing Jebel Judi was (see fig. 2).
Although archeology has brought to light some remains from the 3rd and 2nd millenia BC from the area we call the Kingdom of Urartu (Plotrovsky, 1969); "There is at present no sound evidence attesting to the existence of The Kingdom [of] before the ninth century BC."

Then the site says that when Moses wrote the Torah, Mount Ararat was not part of the Kingdom of Ararat, but Mount Judi was part of that kingdom, and although archaeologists have shed light on some of the remains of the second and third millennia BC from the area we call the Kingdom of Ararat, there is no evidence or proof at the present time that says that there was a kingdom called the Kingdom of Ararat in this place before the ninth century BC
[that is, he insists that either Moses did not mean this area when he said (Mountains of Ararat) in the Book of Genesis, or that it was not actually Moses who wrote the books of the Torah, but they were written hundreds of years after him]
Click on image for larger view. Name: image.png Views: 165 Size: 458.7 KB ID: 839088
Most of the reports mention Mount Ararat as the place where the ark was seen. This should not be surprising since, as previously noted, to western minds, any mountain found to hold the ark would, by definition, be called Mount Ararat

Most reports mention Mount Ararat as the place where the ark is being searched for. This should not come as a surprise, as previously mentioned, because to the minds of Westerners, any mountain on which Noah's ark would be found, they would say that this mountain is Mount Ararat !!!!
In other words, if they found Noah's ark on Mount Arafat, they would say that this mountain is Mount Ararat, but you do not know!!!!!

* ) Secondly, regarding the geographical aspect:
The All About Turkey website says :
Ararat is a dormant volcano; the last eruption was on June 2, 1840. At present the upper third of the mountain is covered with snow all the time

Translation:
Mount Ararat is a dormant volcano, and its last eruption was on June 2, 1840. At present, the summit of the mountain is covered with snow all year round, especially the upper third of it.
Source
Click on image for larger view. Name: image.png Views: 165 Size: 371.9 KB ID: 839090___________________________________

Researcher Ron Wyatt's website states:
Also to be considered are the volcanic eruptions which have occurred on Mt. Ararat. One of the most recent eruptions in the early 1800's

Translation:
Let us bear in mind that Mount Ararat is a volcano, and its last eruption was in the early nineteenth century.

Source
Click on image for larger view. Name: image.png Views: 172 Size: 235.0 KB ID: 839091___________________________________

So we conclude that it is impossible for the ship to exist or remain on Mount Ararat because it is a volcanic mountain, and the eruption of the volcano in 1840 could have hidden anything that was on the mountain before that. The question here is: How could God save Noah and his sons from the flood and then place them on a volcanic mountain that could erupt at any moment ?

Noah's Ark Search says:
As well, there are serious concerns about whether Mt. Cudi was really in the biblical "mountains of Urartu/Ararat" (Genesis 8:4) at the time of the Genesis' writing. Even at the height of the Urartian Kingdom, Dr. Paul Zimansky demonstrated Urartu did not extend to Mount Cudi ( Reference Zimansky's map in Ancient Ararat: A Handbook of Urartian Studies: 2) as reporduced in the Urartu borders graphic below. Especially note where the Urartian Archaeological Sites in orange are located, which shows that there are no known Urartian Archaeological Sites southwest or south of Lake Van near Mount Cudi

The site says there are serious concerns about whether Mount Judi was actually part of the Ararat Mountains mentioned in Genesis at the time the book was written. Dr. Paul Szymanski (Professor of Archaeology and Ancient History) says that even when the Kingdom of Arartu reached its greatest extent, its borders did not reach Mount Judi. See the following map showing the archaeological borders of the Kingdom of Arartu, with the archaeological borders colored in red and the cities of the kingdom colored in orange.

Source

* ) Comment : Mount Judi is located outside the archaeological borders of the Kingdom of Ararat, as we have seen.
Therefore, it is not one of the mountains of Ararat.
That is, when scientists found Noah’s Ark on Mount Judi, they had no right to say that Mount Judi is considered one of the mountains of Ararat.
___________________________________

Now that we have a historical and geographical idea about the region called the Kingdom of Ararat, which is the word Ararat in the Bible, we can summarize what was mentioned in this post in several points:

1- When our master Moses, peace be upon him, wrote the Torah in the fifteenth century BC, the tribes of Ararat did not exist.
2- The tribes of Ararat existed in the period from the thirteenth century BC to the ninth century BC.
3- The Kingdom of Ararat arose in the ninth century BC, that is, 600 years after the writing of the Torah.
4- Therefore, the Torah that we have now is distorted + our master Moses, peace be upon him, is not its writer, and he is innocent of it, otherwise let one of the objectors tell us: How can the mountains of Ararat be mentioned in the Book of Genesis written in the fifteenth century BC, while the Kingdom of Ararat was not established until the ninth century BC, and there is no evidence or proof at the present time that says that there was a kingdom called the Kingdom of Ararat in this place before the ninth century BC?
5- The mountains in the Kingdom of Ararat are called the mountains of Ararat, and any mountain located within the Kingdom of Ararat applies to the expression (Mountains of Ararat).
6- When the Kingdom of Ararat reached its maximum expansion, its borders did not reach Mount Judi, and Mount Judi remained outside the Kingdom of Ararat.
7- That is, Mount Judi is not one of the mountains of Ararat and the expression (Mountains of Ararat) mentioned in (Genesis 8-4) does not apply to it.
8- For the minds of Westerners: Any mountain on which Noah's Ark would be located, they would say that this mountain is Mount Ararat.
9- It is impossible for the Ark to exist or remain on Mount Ararat because it is a volcanic mountain.

Information about Mount Judi :

What is the distance between Mount Judi and Mount Ararat ?

The distance between Mount Judi and Mount Ararat is about 175:200 miles, but after scientists found Noah's Ark on Mount Judi, they claimed that the distance between them was about 14:20 miles in an attempt to reduce the distance between the two mountains, in order to delude people that Mount Judi was close to Mount Ararat, and that it was located in the Kingdom of Ararat and that it was one of the mountains of Ararat (Genesis 8:4), in order to prove the truth of what was stated in the Book of Genesis to save face, but I explained in the previous post that even when the Kingdom of Ararat reached its maximum expansion, its borders did not reach Mount Judi, [due to the long distance between Mount Judi and Mount Ararat (about 175:200 miles)].

But when you find that the foreign site says that the ship docked at a distance of (14-20 miles) south of Mount Ararat, it means that the ship docked on Mount Judi, and we will see that in this post, God willing.

there is no reason to assume it is a more likely candidate for the resting place of the ark, instead it is a less likely candidate. The ark came to rest in the mountains of the ancient country of Urartu, not on Mt. Ararat

There is no reason to suppose that Mount Ararat is the most likely candidate for the ship's landing place, and it is even less likely. The ship landed on the mountains of the kingdom of Arartu, not on Mount Ararat.

In the research he performed over the next 15 years, Mr. Wyatt successfully performed ####l detection tests and subsurface radar scans of the site, and he proved this site really IS the mud-and-lava covered remains of Noah's Ark

In the 1980s, adventurer and self-styled archaeologist Ron Wyatt and his colleague David Fasold claimed to have discovered Noah's Ark at Durupinar, some 20 miles from Mt Ararat; A nearby mountain has subsequently been claimed to be Mt Cudi, the Turkish #####alent of Judi

Translation: In the 1980s, researcher Ron White and his friend David Fasold said they discovered Noah's Ark in the city of Durupinar, about 20 miles from Mount Ararat, also known as Mount Judi.

Has Noah's ark been found in Turkey?

Was Noah's Ark found in Türkiye?
Noah's ark is not entombed in ice on Mt. Ararat as claimed by some

Noah's Ark is not buried in the ice of Mount Ararat as some claim.
You can visit the remains of Noah's ark today in Turkey, in the
mountains of Ararat, 17 miles south of Mt. Ararat at the base of
Mt. Judi (Al Judi), resting at 6000 feet. The mountains of Ararat
refer to an area not a specific mountain

Comment on what was stated on the Trust Bible website:
Of course, it is clear from its name that this website is trying to prove the validity of what was stated in the Bible regarding the place where Noah’s Ark came to rest. It said that the Ark came to rest at the base of Mount Judi, which is a mountain of the Ararat Mountains! ..... And we proved in the previous post that Mount Judi is not one of the Ararat Mountains

It came on the site galaxie.com
His research suggests the mountain known today as Mt. Cudi is the best candidate for the Ark landing and the subsequent settlement of Noah and his family. Here, too, he believes Noah died and was buried

Translation: Research by Dr. Charles Wells says that Mount Judi is the mountain on which Noah's Ark came to rest, and it is also the mountain on which the Prophet Noah, peace be upon him, was buried.

Noah's Ark Search says:
One big reason why Cudi has become more popular recently is that a geologist, Dr. Friedrich Bender of Germany, found bits of wood containing asphalt on the summit of Cudi under 0.8-1.0 meters in depth in 1953. These fragments were carbon-dated around 1971 to 6,500 years before the present time. Dr. Willis' and Bill Crouse's theory is that this wood was part of Noah's Ark

Mount Ararat or Mount Judi

Where did Noah's Ark land? The Bible says: “the mountains of Ararat”.... The Qur’an says: “the heights”. Which one? Are they the same place or are they different? Is the Ark at both of these locations

Mount Ararat or Mount Judi?
Where did Noah's Ark land? The Bible says: "Mountains of Ararat"... The Quran says: "The highlands". Which one? Are they the same place, or are they two different places? Was the Ark in both of these locations?
[Of course, the Quran did not say that the Ark landed on the highlands, but it is an attempt on their part to hide the facts, mislead people, and translate names incorrectly]

Noah's Ark has been found on the Turkish-Iranian border, 32 kilometers from Mount Ararat, according to the leader of a team of scientists that has been investigating the site for six years

Noah's Ark was found on the Turkish-Iranian border, 32 kilometers from Mount Ararat, and according to the leader of the team of scientists, the site has been investigated for six years
[32 kilometers = 20 miles, meaning that Noah's Ark was found on Mount Judi].
At 170 meters long and 45 meters wide, it conforms almost exactly to the 300 cubit by 50 cubit boat that God told Noah to build, according to Genesis 6 in the Bible

They proved that it was indeed the real Noah's Ark by matching its length and width mentioned in Genesis 6 with the length and width of the ship they discovered.

"It is a man-made structure and for sure it is Noah's Ark."

The site is directly below the mountain of Al Judi, named in the Qur’an as the Ark’s resting place

It is a man-made structure to make sure that it is indeed Noah's Ark.
The Ark is located directly below Mount Judi, which is mentioned in the Qur'an as the place where the Ark landed.

There is a mountain named Judi. There is a mountain named Ararat. They are both located within the bounds of the Biblical region of Ararat (Urartu). It is very possible that both the Bible and the Qur'an speak in unison on this issue. Could it be that both Mount Ararat and Mount Judi are the same location? As you can see, some of today's authors use the two words and locations interchangeably regarding the location of the Ark

Here the writer tries to make a match between Mount Judi and Mount Ararat, saying that Mount Judi is the same as Mount Ararat, and he said that there are those who use the two words (Judi and Ararat) to refer to the same mountain and the same location where the ship landed!!!!

[But of course, Mount Judi is not Mount Ararat, and the Qur’an did not say that the ship landed on the highlands. The Qur’an said (Judi) and the Bible said (Ararat), and these are two different mountains, and it is absolutely not correct to reconcile them.]

This is the first and largest site that talks about Noah's Ark and the city that was discovered next to it, which is supposed to be the city in which our master Noah and his sons lived after the two ends.

This site is dedicated to providing information about the location and nature of Noah's Ark and the ancient city of Naxuan.
As I said, this is the first and largest site that talks about Noah's Ark, even making comparisons between Noah's Ark and the oldest ships that existed before, starting with the first ship built by the Chinese to transport their soldiers and armies. He even made a comparison between Noah's Ark and the Titanic, and in complete neutrality and did not mention the Qur'an at all, but at the same time when he cited the Holy Book, he was citing from the point of view of comparison whether this was actually identical to the words or not, and he does not flatter anyone. On the main page of the site, he put a large image taken by satellite that shows the region as a whole, as we see above Mount Ararat with snow covering its peak, and below he points with an arrow to Mount Judi and explains that it is the real place where Noah's Ark landed, and he also explains the city of Naxuan, where our master Noah lived and which was discovered next to the ship.

The dimensions of the ship molds found on Mount Judi are exactly the same as the dimensions of Noah's Ark mentioned in Genesis 6. [This of course confirms to us once again that it is the real Noah's Ark.]

This slide show is designed to give you strong visual evidence that the remains of the ark of Noah lie on a mountain 17 miles south of Mount Ararat, in eastern Turkey. The ark ruins are situated in the "mountains of Urartu" ( hary urartu), as recorded in the Bible in Genesis 8:4. The very popular Mount Ararat will never produce an “ark of Noah,” unless there were two Noahs and two arks. All of the pertinent evidence for Noah's ark and his post flood city "Mesha," (later called Naxuan), is found on this mountain, anciently named "Cordu," (which means "Mountain of the Kurds").

The Ark of Noah's final impression is located in the narrowest part of an earthslide at 6,200 feet above sealevel, on a mountain in eastern Turkey, about a mile west of the Turkish/Iranian border and 17 miles south of Mount Ararat.
The great Noah's Ark ruin was discovered in modern times in May of 1948 by local Kurdish-Turkish farmer Reshit Sarihan after a series of three earthquakes shook apart the surrounding loose and expansive soils that had entrapped it for many centuries.
